Hard to gauge how close our bid is as we don't know how much is guaranteed and how much is add ons

If it was say 60 guaranteed and 25 add on we would be nowhere close to what they want. If it's 80 guaranteed and 5 add on then we are very close!

Without knowing the structure of our 85 it's hard to say

Mount worth £150 mil bloody hell. Please wear a cap as the sun must be pretty strong where you live.

I'm not arsed about this transfer. I don't think sancho is the next ronaldo/messi type of player and certainly isn't worth 100m.

We should tell dortmund that we're not paying more than 75m and they can stuff it. Next year we can get him for 40m and the year after for free if he doesn't renew his contract.

Time is on our side.

I see today was the day that the weirdos decided to wander into the thread.

Did they ever really leave that's the question

The guy that’s been rampaging over the last few pages seems new to me, but I accept that in 148 pages where I usually just jump to the most recent 3 pages, I may have missed him.

I wonder if glazer has put a lid on how much we can spend on this. If its true were only about £10 mill away I think the 2nd offer would have been a clincher, or a 3rd stright after if the shortfall was £10 mill or less.
Maybe £75 mill is the limit? who knows? I dont think we will be beating Pogbas fee for a while yet anyroad.

I am selling my car for £5000. I will accept £4500.

Someone offers me £3000. I say no. Then they offer me £3001, then £3002, etc etc.

This annoys me so much that I decide I won't accept £4500. I want the full £5000 or the buyer can feck off.

I get the feeling Utd negotiate like this.

It was for KDB. And Sancho stats are more KDB than Kagawa and Mhki.

Also far superior to Havertz and Werners while being younger than Werner.
I actually disagree.

KDB best season in BL + Europe: (AM/CM)
- 15 goals 25 assist, 7.95 avg rating

Sancho best season in BL + Europe: (WF)
- 19 goals 18 assist, 7.64 avg rating

Werner best season in BL + Europe: (F)
- 32 goals 10 assist, 7.60 avg rating

Havertz best season in BL + Europe: (AM)
- 16 goals 8 assist, 7.24 avg rating

Mkhit best season in BL + Europe: (AM, WF)
- 13 goals 20 assist, 7.90 avg rating

Kagawa best season in BL: (AM)
- 14 goals 8 assist, 7.48 avg rating

I’d say KDB>Mkhit>Sancho=Werner>Havertz=Kagawa, based on stats and overall performance.

Honestly I am much more excited about this signing since Fergie praised him.

A bit of exaggeration. If reports are true, we are only around 5m Euros away from their asking price now, which is around 5% off (our 1st bid was around 15% off). So back to your examples, it would be a case of 3825, then 4275 to your acceptable price of 4500. And there only 1 interest buyer in the market for your car in past 2 years. No one else is interested or bother to putting a bid. Bear in mind there’s also a factor of depreciation to the value of your car every year, and the same car which has originally cost you almost nothing.

It's not just €5m short according to Berger. He said our latest offer was €85m (add ons included), while Dortmund want €90m + add ons.

Oh I see, so perhaps we are still €10m away from their valuations then (as they want 90m + 5m add ons from previous report).

In this way would be tricky, could drag on for another few weeks

I think our final offer would be €90m (add ons included, maybe 80m+10m) if they reject this bid from us. Dortmund could take it or leave it, as €90m is alot in this market. They surely won’t get the same next summer, where his values would drop to around €60-70m at most. But we may not get him too as there will be more interested party at that price, but then most club would try to go for Haaland instead next summer. Accept it this summer it’s win-win, reject it could be loss-loss.

Sky Sports in Germany and England as well as Adrian Kajumba said it's more than £75M(€87M) with most payments guaranteed. Our first offer had a guaranteed £67m so you'd guess the second one is in and around £70m they want £77m guaranteed so we can't be far off

Is he even going to participate in this Euros? Can see his value dropping if he doesn't take part of perform in this tournament.

I'm not too sure why people are believing this Berger guy when his "information" hasn't exactly been the most reliable over the past few days?
Seems to me like he's being drip fed some basic info and adding his own to make him sound more ITK

The big issue is how much does Dortmund want upfront. That's will seriously affect our other transfers.

I’d say 30 games not a first impression.

The first impression I had of: Schmeichel, Stam, Rio was that they were going to struggle. The first impression I had of Memphis was that he was brilliant. First impressions are misleading

Good point - Pallister, Evra, Vidic - all were awful on their debut. Djemba-Djemba actually looked decent on his.

I'm not too sure why people expect United to just stump up the asking price for a player?!

Becoz its not their money! I bet the same people arent half as generous with their own money when stumping up money for a Mars bar.

I always hate it when your colleagues or the employees spend the company's money like its someone else's or free money. They should spend the company's money like they would their own.

They want £77m up front/guaranteed I already said that and it's already been said in the media. We offered £67m minus add ons first time the second offer is likely in and around £70m if the numbers branded are correct. We can't be that far off and I doubt an extra £5-8m majorly affects our other transfers

Like I said earlier I don't buy Berger's figure of €85m it's definitely a little higher than that which suggests a deal is not far off and less need for panic

Guaranteed and upfront mean different things , I don't for one second believe £77m guaranteed is the issue with United but if they want like £40-50 m as first installment of that it creates massive cash flow problem for us leaving us cash poor for our other targets.

Well apparently we want to pay the fee over 5 years BVB want 4 which isn't an unreasonable demand. The deficit being talked about here is small it'll be a almighty shock if something isn't eventually agreed

I think deal is imminent all parties need this to happen and compromise so to speak would be worked out , both United and Dortmund would claim it was done on their terms and none would be wiser.

So last summer they wanted 120m guaranteed, this summer they are willing to go down to 90m with some easy contingency bonuses to make up the difference. How generous.

If we havent been able to find another player to fill that position in two years ...
a) either sack the whole scouting team for being awful at their job.. or
b) if we are convinced the scouts have it right and he is the best player for that position, pay the premium.

Dortmund arent even a top side... every top european side has someone in their squad for that right wing position.. we have been negotiating with a 2nd rate team for 2 years and havent been without a right winger for 7 years now .. what the feck :/

Well, I think most people haven't forgot the shambles of this same saga last summer, where we thought they'd come back, cap in hand, to take our reduced offer. Most people are probably just as annoyed about the fact that we've been after the guy for around 2 or 3 years and still haven't worked out a fecking price or even established a decent enough relationship with Dortmund that we can just sit and honestly hash it out.
