Don't know the stats but I watched a lot of their games especially towards the end of the season. You probably haven't watched much of him which is fair but having watched both him and Sancho he is a far more developed, and better player currently.
It's 6 goals 6 assists in 31 Championship games.

He's also about 5 years older.
Look, Grealish is a fantastic player and he would be a great buy for any top club. Don't get me wrong there.

I'm just doing this thought experiment as I'm somewhat baffled how people keep repeating that he's more proven at top level than Sancho and they wouldn't mind paying 120m for him, when

- he's entering his prime at 25 with less top division games under his belt than Sancho having just turned 21
- he spent half of his senior career playing Championship
- he's never even in his best season, and not even in Championship, reached the 20 league G+A that Sancho has reached in each of his 3 seasons, starting at 17 years old (while being his team's main creator and scorer as you say..)
- has never played a single game of Champions League or other European competition at 25, when Sancho has more than 20 CL games already

Grealish is awesome, but he sure is not more experienced or proven at the highest level than Sancho is, 5 years younger.

That changes nothing, Kagawa and Mkhitaryan type players are not suited for MUFC system.

Let us see what Sancho produces in the Euros, up against Mount and Sterling and Foden. If he outperforms them we can talk.

That's a horrible way to assess a player though. Fair enough if you don't rate him but an assessment should be made surely based on what he's done through the season but in X number of games for his country in a tourament.

You’re flogging a dead horse with the poster mate. I haven’t seen one shred of an objective assessment from him/her.

Assessing a player based on Bundesliga performances has not been too useful either in recent years.

That would be fair. Have you watched him enough to make that though?
I’ve only watched a handful of games and he’s looked very mature for his age. I gather he’s been erratic in some though but I’d expect that from him at his age.

Not sure what you consider to be enough, in general my first impressions of a player are the most accurate.

What if the one time you happen to pop in for your first impression isn't a typical day and the player is either out of form or playing out of their skin?

You can't judge a player based on one performance.

I’d say 30 games not a first impression.

The first impression I had of: Schmeichel, Stam, Rio was that they were going to struggle. The first impression I had of Memphis was that he was brilliant. First impressions are misleading

Thats not what people are saying. People are saying he's pretending to represent how Dortmund are feeling

listen, I don’t know what you’re talking about. I replied to a specific poster about a particular post. Please read:

Is this guy some sort of noob. Of course United know how good he is, hence why we want to buy him. Still doesn’t mean we should pay out the teeth for him.

He is seemingly passing on the sentiment in Dortmund, not his opinion

To which you replied with meta commentary:

Hes pretending to. Literally didnt know of the breaking news yesterday for feck sake

I don’t care if you think his information is valid/true. What’s not clicking?

Silly example- he’s a year older now and so obviously better than when he played in the championship. Also something of a prodigy.

We also wanted to sign him based all his ‘shine’ in the Championship, but he saw the next step ip in his progress as the bundesliga.
I think all the talk was he would play in our u23 side or we would loan him back to Birmingham as he was not ready for The Premier league so it is a good example.

Slow news day today it seems. Hey, how about those BL defenders and how crap they are?

Great post. Needs to be a threadmark.

Dortmund still playing hard ball with this negotiation. At some point, Sancho is going to have to push for the move as i just don't see United being willing to pay 75m up front like what Dortmund is reportedly wanting

Our latest offer from yesterday is greater than 75 million Pounds, so we'll see if that satisfies Dortmund's demands as expected.

Well, for the third time nobody is criticising him if he is passing on Dortmund stance, its the apparent fact that he's pretending to. Jan is clearly scrambling after getting the no new bid tweet wrong not 24 hrs ago.
Whats so hard to understand about that? Jesus, theres nothing meta about that.

Some terrific post about the transfer lately.
It's funny how some people have already gotten bored of yesterday's news so are all in on flaming up some controversy to make up for the apparent boredom.

I feel like half of the people hanging out in this thread are trolls.

Yes, but is that 75m up front cash or the total which includes add-ons? The up front money seems to be the main sticking point in the negotiations.

We don't know the fee details, but the guaranteed fee is greater than 67 million Pounds, and the total is greater than 75 million Pounds according to Adrian Kajumba.

EDIT: Whilst the English sources are still reporting 86 million Pounds (100 million Euros), a couple of more reliable German sources are reporting that 90 million Euros + 5 million in bonuses will be enough. If the latter offer will indeed be enough, then our latest offer should be accepted in due time.

It was for KDB. And Sancho stats are more KDB than Kagawa and Mhki.

Also far superior to Havertz and Werners while being younger than Werner.

if that is accurate, it puts us about £8m off of the guaranteed money that Dortmund wants up front. You're right though that it appears Dortmund wants 90m euros to be the sum total that includes add-ons and bonuses.

This is probably the closest this transfer has come to being finalized which means it'll take another few weeks before either side decides to blink and make the final move.

I didn't see anywhere say up front. Just 95 mil euro guaranteed no matter what.

He’s been very good against Barca and Bayern Munich a few times. He’s top class. I understand the stat padding due to poor defending /teams rolling over but he has “it” He’s going to be one of the best wingers in the PL.

The reading comprehension on this forum is at a record low, unless you’re just trying to angle a way out of this. I don’t care about your opinion on the validity of his report. I don’t give a feck if Cyberman thinks “Jan is obviously xyz-ing”. Again, I replied to a specific post questioning if the journalist was a noob due to what was reported, which was presented as the sentiment at Dortmund, not the journalists opinion.
