I’ve joked after each England match that his price has been coming down by 10m each time. Obviously that’s nonsense but I think Dortmund will be very disappointed that he’s not playing and that he’s not having an absolute stormer.

They clearly want to sell him this summer despite the BDL’s constant chiming of “Dortmund would love it if he stayed for another season!”. So if he’s not going to be in the shop window but he’s still with the England setup at risk of injury, why would Dortmund not think it’s time to get the ball rolling on this if there’s a substantial offer on the table?

BVB subreddit deluding themselves into believing that southgates team selections could make him rethink a PL move.

Personally, I try to steer well clear of r/kleinerTag

Taken from the /r/reddevils thread which is supposedly a translation from the article.

United sources said that the club would have liked to finalize the deal before the start of the European Championship. But nothing came of it, because until yesterday there was no official offer for Sancho. According to the Ruhr Nachrichten, however, that has now changed. BVB has received an initial bid from the Red Devils, which is now being examined. So, after a long standstill, there could finally be movement in the transfer, which, in the event of completion, would allow Borussia to become active on the transfer market itself thanks to the handsome income.

Backtracking on the BBC story denial and the deal is "being examined"

LADS AND LADIES IT'S.........

Yeah but Griezmann has been poor for Barcelona. Doing exceptionally well in the Bundesliga counts for much more than being a lame duck for Barcelona.

Having said that Griezmann seems to always do pretty well for his NT.
Well I think thats the main difference. I am not saying Griezmann is better on his recent club form, but he has always been great for his country, while Sancho is yet to have a really good game in England shirts.

I'd be surprised if the bid they're talking about is the deal clinching one, just because I'd have expected more sources all over it. But we live in hope. It'll be nice when its finally done, although I'll find it very odd to not be talking about this transfer anymore, I've been doing it for years!

BBC now denying this bid would be peak-sancho thread though.

Both Tier 1 outlets contradicting each others stories would be some prime redcafe content

We can seek refuge in the Varane thread after this:D

It's still early in the day, keep faith.
I can already picture the flurry of Sancho tweets coming out at the same time from various sources, saying a deal is done.
It will be glorious

So Sancho is not good enough to play for the England team?

Just asking.

That paper is Dortmund's main mouthpiece other sources are bound to catch up on it eventually. And considering the gap in valuation was less than £10m it would be a bigger shock if its NOT a deal clinching one when Utd don't usually make OFFICIAL bids until they know it'll be accepted

We shall SEE.

So the demand from BVB is non negotiable but they are examining our bid.

OH YES

BIG DAY TODAY

Well in theory - they could accept the total amount but not all the details regarding the payment. Length of payment, clauses etc

This won’t get done before the new shirt is officially released. They will want to bluff united fans by making Uniteds main transfer from last year into this years marquee signing. This is last years signing we didn’t get, last years money we didn’t spend.

could be, but the implication from "examining" the offer is that it must have met a BVB threshold. You don't brief to your mouthpiece that you've decided to read a document right? so BVB is at least aware of the structure of the deal and hence "examining" and hence the briefing.

„examining our bid“?
Takes time cause it’s such a BIG bid

So What we are saying is that bvb will decline and then united will go into discussions about a new bid?

there could be some additional steps or reworking of clauses, but BVB is not "examining" a bid that they wouldn't accept. This is VERY close to a deal. They are briefing their mouthpiece to prepare for the deal happening.

Preparing a bid is not a news
Hard to know what "a serious bid is considered" means.
Does he mean United are considering putting in a serious bid, or does he mean that Dortmund are considering a serious bid already put in by United.
I choose to believe the latter.

Just go for Madueke if that’s who Dortmund are going for.
 We could also get transfer rumours out that we’re going big on Ndidi and instead go for whoever Leicester choose as his replacement.

think he's parroting exactly what RN are saying. Considered and examined are both interchangeable

Preparing a bid is not a news
He's talking about Dortmund giving a serious consideration for a bid that has already been put in by Utd.
That's a good thing if the bid didn't meet any threshold they'd have rejected it immediately

No 100m rated young player runs out their contract to leave on a free. It's mutually beneficial for club and player to extend.
Thats ridiculous. For the player could get a big fat signing on bonus at his new club and probably higher wages if he leaves on a free.

Who is Noni Madueke? That's a Nigerian name. How come I have never heard of him? He must be good.

So Sancho is not good enough to play for the England team?

Just asking.
He is, it's just that good ol Gareth is being extremely supportive by allowing him time to sort out his transfer without the distraction of playing football. He's going one further by also starting a "not good enough for England" narrative to reduce Sancho's price and ensure his dream move. Gareth is really one of the nicest guys you could ever meet.

We all make our own reality!

Bruno was from last summer's budget according to the club.
