Ivan Perisic

The muppets are usually negative over signings unless they are big names or FM wonder kids. There were many negative opinions on Carrick before he signed, even Valencia to an extent, and most recently after our interest in Dier.
Not that I'm condoning the negative comments towards the aforementioned players but how many of these players were or are close to their peak at the time of the transfer speculation? How many of them were going ridiculous prices? I just don't see how you can compare the transfer of Carrick and Valencia to a potential Perisic move.

That would be insane. But signing him because he's the best that is realistically available and that Mourinho believes he can add something to our team, isn't.
Signing him because he's the best that's realistically available is not a reason to sign him on it's own, that's what I'm trying to say. If we sign him, then obviously Mourinho thinks he can add something. That doesn't mean people can't have different opinions on a player. If you're just going to appeal to authority every time we get linked to/sign a player, then we might as well just close the transfer forum.

Carrick was a ridiculous price

If it's because they don't think he's good enough, OK fine but give him a chance to show what he's worth. If Mourinho believes in him I am willing to see how it goes. Having somebody who's quick and left footed ON THE LEFT is something I am looking forward to again.

If it's the fee, fair enough it's high for a 29 year old, but we've got loads to burn, we aren't paying for it, so who cares right?

I just think people are expecting Bale and Neymar and suddenly get their knickers in a twist because it's "just Perisic"

That's a fair comment. I think the only real question is whether he's good enough which we won't find out until he's here. (Or not)

I don't disagree with your points at all. If he signs for United tomorrow, we should support the player if only for the good of the club we like. We don't have to like him, even after he signs but all players should be supported for the sake of the team. There are certain players in the squad I can't stand but should be supported, as with my feelings towards the manager, though is changing albeit slowly.

Perisic is not yet our player and I think it should be ok for fans to give an opinion on a player that is not ours. I get some fans are making comments without any foreknowledge of the player, others because he is not a Neymar, it's muppet season.

Myself, like some of the others that have claimed to watch Perisic a good number of times are against the move because we don't think he is good enough. Not one poster in this regard has called him a bad player, once. I just find the whole just wanting 'FM players' ridiculous. I suggested that I'd rather have Costa and Andersen, players who 1)I'm not exactly mad about and, 2) are not world class players. I just think that they'd offer much more and at a better value.

Perisic is right footed.

See some posters always go on about wanting players who want to play for thumis club, for the shirt and for the badge

We've got such a player (supposedly) lined up, and people are bagging him out before he's even kicked a ball for us and underrating him to hell.

It's so hypocritical it's downright infuriating; he's not as bad as the majority of you make him out to be. Why care so much about the price? The cost doesn't affect you personally in any way.

There's quite a bit of overrating of Perisic as well. He is decent and could work out brilliantly but it's not going to be the hugest surprise if he is just about a moderate success.

Yeah in hindsight it was a good price but at the time we were said to have overpaid by a large amount for a player who spurs fans said wasn't even their best midfielder
The moral of that story is football fans know feck all about the value of players.

Other than Carrick, all correct whining

Hargreaves was an ok player, just injuries blighted him, but that wasn't what fans were complaining about at the time.
ps. on Redissue, which was the largest United forum for quite a few years, there was immense moaning about Rios transfer, his first couple years here and subsequent drugs ban. Horrible, horrible personal abuse infact.

Perisic is right footed.
Perišić is left footed. Always shoots free kicks with the left
He's left footed but is very good with his right (ambidextrous)
Wrong, it's either with his right or he shoots with both. Think I have see him take one with his left too, it's insane really.
Well I think that tells you everything you need to know. The fact nobody knows for sure shows how good he is with both feet, it's a really unusual ability.

I would need to watch him regularly to know his pitfalls, but he ticks the boxes in attributes that's for sure.

during 4 years in the Bundesliga, Persic played not a single season that would qualify him to play for a club that wants to challenge for titles. Not even close.
Wolfsburg or inter are his level. That's not even harsh criticism, because these clubs have decent players and that's exactly what he is: decent. Nobody is saying that he is rubbish, but the caf muppets pretend that he is a world-beater. It is not "Neymar/Bale or perisic". That's a laughable assessment. Lots of players are between those two levels.

DiMarzio: PSG are interested in signing Perisic and inquired about him while meeting Inter to discuss a move for Lucas Moura

Inter and Paris Saint-Germain have met and a lot of names were part of this discussion between Sabatini and Ausilio, on the nerazzurri side, and Antero Henrique for the French club. These have only been preliminary talks, nothing's concrete yet.

Inter has asked informations about Lucas Moura, who already was a target before he got to PSG. His wages shouldn't be a problem for Inter as he currently earns 3.5 million euros per year, PSG isn't against letting him go. There also has been a demand about Angel Di Maria but he should remain a dream: the 9 million euros he earns per year make him out of Inter's reach, especially with how much Inter players currently earn.

PSG has also told that Krychowiak could be sold, Inter has asked to be updated on his situation to understand how they could do to get the player. He stays in stand-by for now on though.

About players that could leave Inter, PSG have asked informations about Ivan Perisic, to know how much the negotiations with Manchester United are advanced. They haven't reach an agreement yet so Paris Saint-Germain will evaluate about making an offer or not for the Croatian player in the coming days. The French club is also interested in Kondogbia but Inter wants an important fee to let him go as he cost a lot.

Not that long that they've bought Draxler for that position and di Maria can play there as well. Seems like a scattergun approach.

A bit like us in the past few years*; more money than sense.

*More so before Jose arrived.

I don't know if he'll be a good fit for us or not but one thing I like is how determined he is to join United (based on the reports). It's always nice when a player really wants to play for us. He reminds me of Herrera and Rojo.

Perisic is the kind of young talent we should be signing to accompany our more experienced players. He's also Italian.

Jose have great relations with Inter, Why is this haggling over the price and Inter inflating the value. We should include janujaz in the deal, Inter will like a young player with Potential. Selling to sociedad for 10 m euros makes no sense.

I'm really not a fan of signing Perisic, but Jose has signed enough young players - Bailly (22), Pogba (23), Lindelof (22), possibly Morata (24) - so sometimes you need to add that mixture of older, experienced players in the region of 28.

Yeah? While we are at it, why dont we sign Pepe (34) and Robbie Keane (36) to add to that experience we so desperately need?
