True true true. But please tell me a really awesome left footed winger who is actually available in market

Douglas Costa seems to be available from the rumours. Played left wing when he first joined Bayern. Is a better out and out winger for me with more pace

How much would you rate Douglas Costa or Lucas Moura should go for then?
I don't rate Costa that much. Moura I'd like to see playing for us on the back of last season and his ability to beat his man and being a lot younger with his best years ahead of him.

Costa most likely would go for cheap since Bayern just bough a winger and still they might go for Sanchez.

Moura as well might come cheaper considering PSG moving in for James.

He isn't any better than perisic. Other than 2 months when he first joined, he has been underwhelming for Bayern

I have never seen Parisic play. Hell, my phone can't type his name right .... But I've seen Costa play for a while for Bayern. He was very very pacey but in the last couple of seasons he just started sulking more and creating less. Had it not been for Ribery, Bayern would have been in a mess. What do you think?

So you would take Moura. I really do like him and he has tremendous acceleration; would he fit in a physical league, that would be the lingering question

Anyway, ladies and gents, tonight you can watch him play. (I watched Victor agains France, and decided I want him at United, maybe some of you can do it too)
Apparently he will play right wing, Mandžukić on the left, Kalinić up front. Behind them Badelj, Modrić, Kovačić...
so, Island-Croatia 20:45 (CET) if you want...to see him for the first time..
now, watch him play like crap..I won't come to this thread then, lolz

 for the white text.

He is usually brilliant for national team, so most likely will be crap tonight. ;)

I doubt even Mourinho thought Inter would ask anywhere near 50-60m for him when he made the list.

At 30-35m he's a good buy providing options on the wing. Double that - he's not.

For 50-60m he screams Liverpool type of transfer.

Agree. The €60m mark is a bit extreme. Should be no more than what we've agreed for Lindelof...even though attackers have an extra premium.

Perisic really doesn't seem to be getting much love here at all, but from what i've seen of him, he looks like a nightmare for full backs. Pacy, full of trickery, can beat a man with ease, and he's dangerous when he moves inside too. He's much more of a "proper" winger than any of the options we've currently got. If we're after that, then he's a solid choice. We've all wanted more pace in attack for a while and he certainly offers that. Again there's question marks about the fee but hey that just seems to be the way things are going for everyone these days.

I actually find it so funny that people are dismissing this guy. I'm amazed at how many people on this forum aren't scouts for the top teams.

For a serial winner like Mourinho, I for one would back his decisions on transfers
He is indeed known for misjudging or being unable to make the best of his wingers, namely at his last Chelsea spell (Schürrle, Cuadrado, Salah…).

No he wont. If you want Morata to have a field day you get players that can provide defence splitting passes like Marcelo, Modric, Kroos, Isco, James, Ozil etc Perisic is not one of such.
But we already have those. Pogba, Herrera, Mata, Mikhi. What we don't have is a consistent winger who will put in 10 crosses a game. Persic will. This signing ( although not extraordinary and muppet- like will add another dimension to our squad.

Refuse to believe the prices being quoted.
Reminds me if the Snijder bullshit.

Correct.

As mentioned before there are superior players already in the squad for me. That's not me saying those players already in the squad are good enough they arnt.
Do you even watch us play? Our wings are shite. There are no superior wingers in our team to Perisic.

Mourinho expects his wide plays to drift towards the middle (one towards the box like a SS/WF e.g. Hazard and CR7, while the other drifts towards central attacking midfled e.g.. Willian and Di Maria). Crosses are expected from his LB and RB.

Even if you wanted a winger to cross the ball, Perisic is average at best. You would be better off with someone like James, Marcelo or Di Maria on the flank as they can actually deliver the ball with accuracy and consistency, and not just whip it across.

I agree that Costa started off well at Bayern, but had a dissappointing season this one just gone. The re-emergence of Ribery made it difficult for him to get game time, and more than likely he didnt react in the right way. However the difference at Bayern is that they have Ribery, Robben, Costa and Coman. That's 4 wide players that are of a better standard than what we have, Martial, Lingard, and Miki

Costa would improve us and be a starter

Yes I do.I also watch a lot of Serie A due to that being the only live European League currently on free to air tv in the Czech Republic. Perisic is nothing special at all.

He surely would be better than him. Hell Parisic would be better than him

Mhiki may be more of a 10 next season, Rashford may be battling for striker. I don't think anything is a given. If we buy Perisic I would bet Mourinho will see him as first choice left winger.
Rashford will start most games as LWF, drifting towards the box like an SS, similar to how he played last season when Zlatan was fit. Mourinho likes the kid and wont put him on the bench for anyone. Rashford will also play as #9 when Morata is absent

Mkhi's best role is on the flank (usually right side). That is where he was most effective at Dortmund. Mourinho has not shown any intention of playing him as a #10 consistently with even fellaini get a shot ahead of him. Unless we get someone else, Mata is the starting #10.

Rashford won't be ahead of him.
Anyone familiar with Mourinho will know that Rashford will be first choice for the LWF position and he will continue to get his minutes until he fails to perform, and even then Mourinho is likely to play him through his slump.

Even if you think that, he's miles better than anything we currently have by default. The default being that he's actually a fecking winger.

Ok I give you that. I still dont think that this is the standard we should be going for if we want to win the EPL. Chelsea have Hazard, Arsenal have Sanchez, City have an abundance of wingers. Perisic will not take us to the required level

Even Martial will probably be fighting with Rashford for a place upfront, not so much on the wing.

True. Based on current and rumoured players; we are well behind city. And I think next year City will be the benchmark

Pah, we've won loads of stuff without players at the "required level". He's as good as Pedro and they just won the league, hell, City won the league playing Navas.

If we bring in Morata, we need better wingers, I'd love Bale or Hazard or Sanchez for sure, but an actual proper winger with speed is a damn site better than what we had this season @Phil Jones 79

Tactically mate he provides width and directness which is a quality to break deep epl defenses. Fergie style. Yes We'd still need more on the wings

Perisic is nothing special but he's quite a good player. He's no Robben but he's a solid player. There's no reason for all this hate, by signing him we will have a natural winger.

Posession means nothing without penetration. City wont be the benchmark at all. Its like saying arsenal were the benchmark for epl teams in fergie era.

Don't think you've named a single winger there who isn't talented and/or highly sought after.

Even if they don't perform Maureen usually turns a tidy profit for his club.
