Felipe Anderson is not better than Perišić. Sorry.

That's your opinion and you've tried to balance the harsh posts in here. I just did the same with Felipe Anderson.

Food for thought: http://www.squawka.com/comparison-m..._%/total_duels_%/interceptions/clearances#avg

Last season is Perisic's best statistically and that's how he compares to those random names, as you say.

Isn't Perisic able to play as the target man / #9 too? Didnt he do it at the euros?

No, can't remember that he ever played there, either for the club or national team. In Euro he played all 4 matches as a left winger in 4-2-3-1 with Mandzukic/Kalinic as target man upfront.

Well if Jose wants him then that should be good enough for us. Anything that strengthens and improves the squad all the better.

I really hope we spend the money on Douglas Costa or Bernardeschi and not this guy.

I'd take Perisic any day over Douglas Costa. A super hard working winger who will do the dirty work while also having plenty of attacking threat or a Bayern reject who can produce moments of brilliance but who's commitment must be questioned if Bayern are happy to see him go

Wait this out a bit and price will come down. I assume Mourinho would've already spoken with the player and his agents must have conveyed this to his club. Inter needs money ASAP to get their own target and get over FFP. They surely don't want to hold a player against his wishes at the club. I think the deal would be done for 42-45M euros.

How about Bernardeschi or Lucas Moura? Even Felipe Anderson...I'd prefer a winger who can consistently beat his man off the dribble.

He beats his man. He has the pace. I don't claim to have seen a whole lot but the matches I have seen he is quite good in going wide and toying with full backs.

From what I've read about him, he seems like a LW version of Valencia during his winger days.

I always hate having two inverted wingers on the pitch. Fergie did it best - our LW would be someone who liked to cut in (Nani, Kagawa, Rooney), with the width from the LB and our RW would stay out wide with a more defensive fullback on that side (O'Shea, Brown).

Hopefully Mourinho is replicating that.

Perisic scored 11 non-penalty goals from 80 shots taken inside the area in Serie A last season. He failed to score from 24 shots taken outside the area. He created 2.0 chances per game, 8 assists in 2751 mins, according to Squawka (Transfermarkt say 11 assists). His pass completion was 71%. 1.34 successful take-ons per match.

In 2015-2016 Serie A season, he managed 7 non-penalty goals from 42 shots taken inside the area. He failed to score from 26 shots taken outside the area. He created 1.19 chances per 90 mins, 6 assists in 2412 mins (Transfermarkt claim 5 assists). Pass completion 77%. 1.04 successful take-ons per match.

At Wolfsburg in 2014-2015, he managed 4 non-penalty goals from 32 shots taken inside the area. Outside the area 1 goal from 11 shots. Created 1.31 chances per game, 4 assists. Pass completion 72%. 1.25 successful take-ons per game.

He is currently 28 years and 4 months old.

Are we crazy ?

Sorry but Perišić has been our most important players together with Modrić for few years now. So no, he's definitely not a player to fill a hole. Not at all. Our best player in Euro 16 and WC 2014... So you're wrong on both accounts, him filling a hole and being dull.

I would think that Modric, Srna, Mandzukic, Rakitic would have been more important and impactful in the Hrvatski team.

Not saying who was the best etc but he was excellent in the 2016 tournament. Genuinely impressive.

He has more tricks than Valencia. You would see him do dummies. Valencia is a more accurate crosser I suppose.

No. As I said, together with Modrić he has been our most important player and still is. Srna has been on a downhill for few years before he retired, Rakitić hasn't ever been that good for NT and Mandžukić has been having real problems with scoring goals, since he has been playing as a CF, currently Kalinić from Fiorentina has taken his spot as the main man up front. Maybe Čačić will try him on the wing some more like for Juventus.
For instance Perišić scored in Euros vs the Czechs and winning goal vs Spain in the dying minutes. Both goals similar, full pace down the wing, beating his man and a goal from a difficult angle.

He played as the left wing but I think he could play as a striker too.

perisic--------Morata----------Mkhi

Am i missing something here? 2 wingers who are infamous for their shocking conversion rates and a striker who's new to the league with all of the goal scoring responsibilities on him. If we sign Morata we should be surrounding him with players who can score goals, not workhorses. It's hard to see any improvement from last season in front of goal in that front 3. Could work if we bring in a 2nd striker/number 10 i guess, Griezmann would have been absolutely perfect.

Are you serious?

He's weak as piss and has never used his left foot. Cuts in to use his right.

Young definitely favours his right and I wouldn't call him 2 footed but he's shown on numerous occasions that he can use his left to good effect.

There's a difference between putting 1 or 2 good crosses with your left to being ambidextrous like Perisic.

The problem with Young is not that he is only right footed, he is just not really good. Robben is also only left footed, but unstoppable. Perisic will be a good addition, especially if he can be motivated and Mourinho gets everything out of him. He is a much better player than Young and for a decent fee a good buy

Of course there is, but there's also a difference between the left foot of Young and the left of Valencia.

I didn't know he's ambidextrous. Interesting. I think I might want him to come. What was the price again?
Now you know. I don't particularly care what the price is. If he's a primary target for Jose then that's enough for me.

I don't know why people are so against this transfer. I haven't watched him in much depth but after seeing some performance review videos he seems like the kind of winger we need, hard working, fast, strong, two footed, good dribbling and had a good season last year (I believe 33 goals and assists in all competitions).

I really think people are getting too hung up on the price. Mbappe has been touted at €130 million, Morata €70 million, Van Dijk €70 Million etc. If we get him for €40-45 million that is basically the new €20-25 million from a few seasons ago. Times have changed and prices have risen dramatically, we just need to deal with it.

Dont think it will be more than 40m pounds. They want 44m currently and we offered 35m i think, everything in pounds
That's quite a lot but it seems the squad players will cost about that amount nowadays. Hope Woodie can pull off something good.

Why don't we put all the information out at once? Would have saved us a lot of argumentation.

If people think Young and Perisic has the same qualities then i think people should remove their black tinted glass.
Not to mention Young is now, and will remain so if he stays on the squad, a proper fullback.

Perisic at least outscored Anderson in the last 2 seasons.
