Ivan Perisic

Is there any Inter fan or someone who watches Serie A here? We need to know if he's really an average player.

He looks woefully average. Does the same thing every time he is on the left; checks backs with a neat Cruyff turn, then again, then again.

If the defender doesn't throw themselves to the ground to block his dummied cross and stands him up, won't beat them.

Guy is 28 and €50m is far to much money. Should of just taken Navas on a free.

That would go down well on here, signing a city reject.

Wow, just one day between (very!) promising links to Fabinho & Griezmann and us paying a fee of €52m for Perisic - crazy season you lovely thing.. :nervous::lol:

It's true that PL players are faster but in the PL you also get more space and teams are tactically worse so that also could be a pleasant surprise, we are never going to be sure. I neither think Callejon is average but he also plays in a much better team fwiw.

Interest and putting an offer are far apart.

Interesting, but players can only get registered from the 1st of July going so I'm not sure if he would fall under their FFP this year. If so, we should decide to pay 30 million or wait until the 1st of July to feck them over. We should be the winners in that case.
Callejon was average even when he was at Madrid. He got into the team cos of being a Castilla product.

Even if Chelsea dont put in a formal offer (I doubt that we have), I still expect a genuine interest to be followed by rumors of what they are willing to pay.

I am not sure how the financial calender works but that is what has been reported

All for signing Perisic but christ that is a hefty fee, £30mil tops is what i would be paying, if its true what above posters are saying inter need they fee for FFP then just offer then enough to get them over the line, if not at least go pay a big fee for Icardi.

Martial and Mkhitaryan are both much better players than he is. I honestly don't think he's any better than Ashley Young either.

Would be a crazy signing (even more so at such an exorbitant price).

Well maybe we are finally deciding to build a team. Our left was woeful last season.

Outright ridiculous

Fair to say you either have never really seen Perisic play or either you have never seen Young play. The difference in stats alone should say enough about the difference between both. Also Perisic was one of the best and most exciting players to watch at the euros, Young has never been exciting to watch.

Which is exactly why adding another average player would be detrimental. We need quality; not another Lingard.

He's seasoned in his position and offers a productive end product. Name me a left sided player outside the top tier I.e Mardrid, Bayern who would offer this?

This is no where near as tragic as is being made out on here.

But I hope we don't end up paying more than 35M for him.

No use of much better players if they don't perform much better, is there?

Why are so many here assuming it's a done deal?? It's a transfer from an Italian club and Di Marzio hasn't said anything about it so I doubt it's as nailed on as people think. He's the only one who seems to have some real info, he reported that Griezmann was low on our priorities before yesterday's drama. All other journalists have shown they know nothing about our transfer dealings.

Young was a two time PFA team of the year member and had some double digit assist seasons at Aston Villa.

He's averaging a goal every three games. I'm pretty sure we could find plenty of players for 50 million who could better that.

Our players don't average them states plus he plays for an average team. For £50m I bet we can't buy a leftsided player better.

My preference would be Douglas Costa, but I think Perisic will do a lot more running of the ball. Perfect to entertain the idea of a number 10. Which is why I said building a team.

Please stop this 'building a team' nonesense. There are better players than perisic available, who can easily follow mourinho's instructions to a tee.

Young was quality at the Villa to be fair. He just made the step up like Perisic would be doing.

I don't mind this signing at all I have full faith in Jose's transfer plan but I don't want to see us get ripped off for him. Hopefully the reports of the fee are wrong.

Don't just quote it then. Give me your flipping input. Name would would be ideal for you.

They're not playing in a league where Dzeko got nearly thirty goals mind, important factor that one.

As for the other point; we already have better in Martial and Mkhitaryan. It's crazy that people think Perisic at 50 million is a good deal when we already have better.

So so we not enterain the German league either because Dzeko got nearly 30 goals in that league too. Maybe just maybe buying a player like Perisic with a mobile top tier striker brings the best out of Mkhitaryan because if we are basing who to be of his last season, I'd take Daniel Sturbridge on the left.

Dzeko scored plenty in England and Germany too. He's genuinely a great striker, looks to have got even better at Roma also.

Find it quite funny how everyone is quick to write this off before it even happens. Majority of people have watched a youtube clip + a game or 2 for Croatia at an international competition and all of a sudden hes "another Lingard" or "no better than Ashley young".

Our left flank was pretty shite last season, along with our right. Some moments/runs where it wasn't the worst. But what we need is someone who is experienced and efficient in the position and I guarantee you now Perisic will provide goals and create multiple chances. Maybe let the deal happen, see him play a few months/season, and then rip the fecking arse out of it if it doesn't go as you pleased folks?

Some think PL is some kind of super league but this is the league where players like Vardy scored more than 20 league goals, players like Charlie Austin, Benteke have very good goal scoring records.

We had plenty of work rate and mobility last year with Lingard and Rashford and our attack was still poor. We need serious quality; the type that Sanchez, Hazard, Bale et al has.

He doesn't have that quality. If we had a good attack I might view it differently but I can't see it as anything other than adding an average player, at an exorbitant price, to an already faltering attack.

So, this is what is happening. Mkhitaryan is going to be the ten and Perisic is going to play on the left, benching Martial.

Seriously, some of you have no idea what you're talking about.

Congrats to you all. We are buying the Croatian Dirk Kuyt.

I what way is he 'Dirk Kuyt'? Is it because he works hard?

He'd be a good signing but that mooted price is crazy.
