Ivan Perisic

Excellent, he is not. Conte is interested in him being a first choice but a cover. He will not displace either one of Hazard or Alonso

If Conte wanted him, he's going to replace Moses on the right side most probably.

I wish I watched Mourinho closer than I did over the years, but isn't it his style to have a one hard working winger with one more "spectacular" winger?

Duff + Robben, Pandev + Eto'o, Wilian + Hazard?

If so, this makes sense I suppose.

Thought Mhki was pretty prolific at Dortmund last year to be honest. I think he just needs to adjust to the league and will be better for next season
Yeah hope so, he has bags of talent but has looked a little intimidated in the league so far. Hopefully a good preseason will sort him out.

Can anyone name me a left-footed wide player who plays from the left at United? Mata doesn't count as he plays from the right/inverted.

Jose has always talked about balance throughout the team. Currently, United have no such player of Perisic's ilk, which is a good option to have and gives United quality options.

Di Maria + Ronaldo too

But pretty much.

I haven't seen as much of Perisic as I have of Martial.. but from what I have seen coupled with how shit Martial was last season, I can believe him to be much better.

I didn't originally see Perisic as the signing for our LW either. But lets see how he does. Knowledgeable sources have rated him and he's wanted by 2 quality managers.
I'm only adamant on my opinion because I have watched him play a couple of times at his last previous 3 clubs and he is quick and hardworking, no doubt. But he isn't going to get by against PL just on that. He is decent and that's about it. And not to forget that he is terribly inconsistent.

He's like 29, and no club of note has been interested all these years is a good indication that he ain't all that.

Yes, Thomas Lemar doesn't provide proper wingplay, sure.
Yeah sure, Mourinho needs another young sensitive soul to manage his feelings. That too from a hyper-attacking team which he has no intentions of replicating.

Perhaps it's time for you to finally realize how our manager sets up a football team. Hint: it's the opposite of Monaco.

Just enjoy the fallout, this is the funniest Caf thread I've read on a while.

Sometimes, yes. But I find their disconnect from reality disturbing. It's like they are creating their own truth and conveniently modifying it along the way..

You'll be waiting.

Better than waiting for Silva or Mbappe or James Rodriguez to even look at us. I'd much rather have a player who wants to come and fulfills a definite need of the team, thank you very much.

Also, I like living in reality.

We may as well lay a six foot long dog turd along our left flank. Sweet fecking Jesus.

Don't want to make a feud out it, but you get the point of my quote. ;)

He is predominantly a left sided player, so I don't see that happening

Can play with both his legs so yes can play as a right wing back. That's the only possible place Conte will want a player with such attributes to play. Also he's tall and that was a problem in Moses, being short and caught in the crosses played towards his side.

Pogba is looking like a real bargain this transfer window. €52 million? Feck me.

I can't believe the thread I started because mourinho made that trip will get to 73 pages.

I've always been impressed watching him for Croatia, the fee is the issue! He's such a Jose signing, I think he'll surprise a few in here. He's 28 and will have no resale value, if around £46m is true we are overpaying by 10m. We should be negotiating a bit better, inter finished 7th in the Italian league and have no cl football. Woody hope that fee isn't correct, the one that is being quoted.

That first sentence is utterly bizarre, hyper realism team? and he's not a sensitive soul, Perisic is a temprimental fanny though.

Our manager said he'd respect our indentity and build a team to that profile, not to his usual boring, shitty proifile of pragmatic dullness.

If €52m is accurate, feck this transfer right in the ass. City got B. Silva for less than that.

Different type of player and works in their system. Perisic is a different style who might well fit the Mourinho system.

That lineup is honestly depressing.

Going from Griezmann, Lukaku, Fabinho to Belotti, Perisic and Keane.... feck me. That doesn't look good at all.

I didn't waste my man juice for a lineup like that.

God, that is brutally shit. I may have to give up on football. I don't think my heart could take United finishing sixth again

Intended "hyper-attacking".

I think we should know better than to expect a manager to give up his way of working for the "United way". We've already been proved wrong on that front by LvG. Mourinho will not give up his methods, especially at this moment.

Either we should hire managers in line with our desired playing style or accept him for what he is. I opposed Mourinho's appointment, but I'm certainly not going to either expect or desire signings which he won't be comfortable with. That includes virtually the whole Monaco team.

Brilliant!

Not worried about the fee, it most likely includes all sorts of add ons based on team and player performances.

Can we not rule him off before he starts playing for us. He might not be the first choice on the wing for some of us (me included) but a lot of you should know better than to call him "a 6ft long dog turd".

Stop acting like whiny little bitches.

Understood the top bit now.

As for the rest I'll say the same I said with LvG, he can feck off with his idea of football, if he can't respect the traditions of the club.

I don't think that guy is reliable to be honest.

For once I actually hope he isn't.
