Ivan Perisic

Perisic seems like such an obviously underwhelming signing that I'm strangely confident he'll work out. For us to be this keen he must really fit Mourinho's plans.

By that standard there are plenty of mediocre players in, say, the Chelsea side that has won the league two out of the last three seasons. Personally I'd happily settle for multiple league titles over the next few years and let CL aspirations against the likes of Barca and Madrid fall where they may.

Except for Dier that is, who really is bleh.

Sadly those players mentioned wouldn't even deliver one.

If Mourinho's plans involve a player like this then that's a huge worry, an utterly average and basic winger who's inconsistent.

I have no problem with him, but the price is idiotic. Also, with Griezmann out of the window, it'll be really underwhelming if we get Preisic and Lukaku/Belotti as our additional attacking options this summer.

I accepted Preisic at a reasonable fee + that we're getting him for tactical reasons ( Stretching the game on the flanks and giving us width ) and that we're getting Greizmann and possibly another striker with them. Now this doesn't look really the case and if we didn't another creative player with him, this signing won't succeed, especially with such an idiotic price.

45 million for bog standard Crotian Lingard is absoulete madness. Inter will use that 45 mil to fund James who is head and shoulders above him

The fee is pretty crazy but the player is decent. It will be laughed at

Aye, I'd agree with that actually.

Why everyone is harping on about the fee is beyond me. If he's wanted by Jose, we'll have to pay this kind of money. We are not in a situation where we can get any kind of value in the market nowadays so the numbers should make no difference whatsoever.

Other teams can get value, but as soon as Man United comes along, another 20-30% gets thrown on to the fee.

This stupid narrative of Perisic being 'the Croatian Lingard' is very wide of the mark. He is miles better.

A lot of garbage coming out of a lot of you.

Some posters would still find a way to justify a transfer if we signed Joey Barton for 30m pounds.

What? Nothing to do with signing any players.

Jose wants him for his system. Let see how he does for us before we start calling him a horrible signing.

Hefty fee. Think we could do better with the price and even player.

Hopefully he performs if he arrives. Nothing much to say really.
