I guess if he is decent we can get a good four years out of him, potentially. Just don't want to lose Martial in the process.

Unless Martial asked himself to leave it would be foolish to do a trade. Perisic would be a good player to raise the competition within the squad and if his workrate rubs off on others even better but we shouldn't trade Martial for a short term solution. That said I wouldn't mind Perisic here at the club one bit. I promise he would surprise many fans in a positive way.
Hopefully as he played today we can put this one to bed
My guess is we're signing him and Lingard has filled in his role so far on tour (LWB in the 3-5-2 and winger in the 4-4-2). Seems like a massive overpay for a 28 year old winger who isn't world class, but if that's how we're playing this year, he might help us a fair bit in those roles.

I very much doubt our interest in Perisic is dead, I do however think our interest in Matic may have been until Abramovich seemingly sanctioned the sale and that's probably what Ed has been working on which has made him miss the tour

You have to use much much better player to compare. Crouch is too low for Perisic. Ridiculous comparison!! Perisic is one of the best winger in Serie A. There is a reason why the manager wants Perisic as his winger and doesn't target Crouch as his striker when we were targeting a striker.

When the first descriptor you reach for about a player is 'hard working' he's probably not the best option like.

We are making such hard work of signing players, Perisic wants to play for us, no one else is reported to be interested him, we must have our own valuation on him, if Inter don't accept then look elsewhere, who else is on Jose's multiple player list ?
Not sure what the point is of this "what if" game but obviously Mourinho doesn't want Crouch for 60m. Perisic is one of Inter's best players, a full international and actually one of the best players in the squad right after Modric. You'd think he was a pub level player the way some people go on about him here. It would be pretty boring if we just all agreed with what the manager does but I'm just saying I find it a bit strange how strong some people feel against this signing without taking account that none of us actually know how we're going to play next season and what kind of qualities is Mourinho looking for in a player. 30m is the most I would say he is worth but if Mourinho thinks he ticks all the checkboxes, I'm not going to lose any sleep over us paying another 10m or so.

Lucas Moura would definitely be a good option. He doesn't have to jump straight into the first team but that kind of pace on the break with Rashford, Lukaku and Mikhi would be devastating.

If the Neymar/Sanchez deals go through, I think Di Maria would love to come back to United and I think Jose would love to have him. He won't be back though because of the way he sulked his way out of the club the first time.
