Ivan Perisic

There's nothing shitty or juvenile about it. There's an element of risk in it actually happening but the person holding that opinion obviously feels something good will come of the club going for someone else. He doesn't feel the managers plans will fail without this signing. No need to make a bigger deal out of his opinion. You make it sound like Mourinho's Manchester United and all it's hopes rest on this one player who nothing can click without.

Perisic may well be a great addition. And I think he looks a much better than he appears on the caf. But I don't think opinions like the ones you quoted are very extreme.

Good post and isn't it also naive to think that the club is only working on getting players without proper alternatives ?

To some, not believing in a player means you will ruin his United career and you are the devil. You must get behind every decision on a message board as it will "create a negative atmosphere at the club." You must also NEVER EVER question the manager's decisions as it means you are not behind him, despite the fact that our fans were even applauding David Moyes when he was crap.

You've been warned.

Except that none of that is relevant to the discussion. In fact, quite the opposite.

You know this transfer saga has become really boring when you see posters discussing if they should criticize the manager's choices or not.

wtf...
I'm just a poster on a message, my view is what it is. I can express if I want or not and that's it, I don't expect anything other than that. Mourinho will do what he wants, we don't necessarily have to like everything but hope it can work out in the end. Taking pleasure in sabotaging the manager :wenger: ? Is this what skepticism is called now. Any player is a gamble, I've never rated Perisic my entire life but if he becomes a United I will support him. It's called nuances.
Be careful, you might be questioned if you're truly a united fan because you have a personal opinion.

Suggests that, apart from Lingard, he's on a similar level to our other wing options:

I reckon that it's all agreed but Inter won't sanction it until they have their replacement lined up.

At least with Vidal and Sneijder they were the best in their respective positions at the time. They were already world class at the time we were linked with them and everyone was excited.

With Perisic it's not as much of a superstar name, has average stats as a winger and a lot of posters couldn't care less if we missed out on him. At least with Vidal, Sneijder and Thiago there was immense excitement and anticipation, with Chilevision and people even zooming on messages written on footballs ("nos vamos en Manchester") then the entertaining meltdowns which followed.
OK do you remember the Fellaini saga? You think this is worse than that?

To another transfer thread!

Italian journalist Massimiliano Nebuloni is currently at Milan’s Malpnesa airport, report Gazzetta dello Sport’s Inter offshoot.

Inter Milan’s Tuesday flight to China is getting a lot more attention than it would normally have, with Ivan Perisic’s future up in the air. Manchester United have been linked with the player all summer, and going to China or not has been seen as symbolic.

Perisic arrived at Inter’s training centre this morning, and Nebuloni has told Sky Italia that the winger will travel to China.

It’s explained that ‘despite the rumours from England’, no offer has arrived from Manchester United for Perisic. It isn’t made clear if that means an offer at any time, or a new offer, we’d probably side with the latter.

Perisic going to China doesn’t kill his potential move to Manchester United, but does make it logistically harder, and shows a transfer hasn’t been agreed.

The plane is set to leave at 3.30pm, and, right now, Perisic is expected to be on it.

It's being reported by a few that we haven't even made an offer for him.

Like I keep saying, no one knows anything. Watch us sign Sanchez by Friday!

The airline might have over booked and ask Perisic to get off the plane.

Again, that's not what's happening here.
Then in that case, people need to stop comments like 'oh, so you know more than the manager etc'. My opinions on the player is because I have watched the player over the years enough times not to rely on comments or YouTube, yet just because we are in for him, it can't be valid

I think the bigger concern here is how Inter will play their league games next season given there seems to be no way back from China.

This has potential for a fantastic gif of Jose/Woodward running through an airport to stop Perisic before he boards the plane.

If he does end up going to China then surely we have dropped our interest, it makes no sense for him to fly to China, then have to fly to the states/

I wounder who the back up option will be?

Following on from the exciting news of our Tractor Partnership.....Perisic boards the flight to China...
but midway through the flight...
somewhere over Tibet the plane is suddenly flanked by 2 F22 Raptors....
What are those red markings on the Tailplane of the fighters?

The pilot of one of the raptors flicks up his mirrored visor to reveal.....

"Maverick" Woodward announces over the radio...."target locked"...."Firing Fox 44"

A flash of light and a briefcase full of cash is fired through the emergency exit of the plane....

Suddenly a grinning Perisic leaps out of the plane!

oh no!

he's falling to his doom....

Pow! a massive parachute unfurls with a Message printed on it....

Ivan Perisic...Brought to You by Qatar Airways... Proud new Airline partner of Manchester United!

"maverick" Woodward waxes his wings in celebration and begins to fly away....

"This is Maverick....target acquired....next waypoint North London...Full burn!"

* cue rousing rendition of "Highway to the danger zone"*

It'll make sense if the deal goes through. He's still an Inter player officially so he'll still go with his squad.
