Ivan Perisic

He's well overpriced for what he offers. He's bang average in terms of chances created per 90 minutes played. Aged 28, will have no resale value. Mata, Mkhitaryan, Rooney, Zaha, and even the cursed Januzaj all offer slightly better chances created per 90 minutes played. Andreas Pereira is equal with him. Instead, we need to buy younger players like Ousmane Dembélé, Bernardo Silva, or Thomas Lemar. Buy players who are doing well but have the potential to up a gear after a year or two playing here. If we must spend £50m then buy James Rodríguez.

The main benefit i see with him is that he's a wide player, which stretches the pitch and allows Pogba more space to operate. For instance, with Mata, he's always coming inside which clogs up the midfield and makes it easier for defenders to well, defend against our team. Perisic would be beneficial for the nature of his position and not his stats. He isn't a United calibre player from what I've seen, however, we started Lingard for ages and he just basically allows us to use him as a filler for a year or two, where he can eventually become a bench player and a good one at that. Your post is great nonetheless but those are my views on the situation.

Cant see this happening at this stage at the price we are hoping for, and cant see it happening after July 1st for the price Inter want either. And in either case they can feck off if they want Darmian.

There's absolutely no concrete evidence that he is one of Jose's targets though. Could be mere speculation for all we know

i for one am glad that this is most likely to be off. Perisic's profile coupled with the asking fee from his club make no sense at all

There's absolutely no concrete evidence for any of our transfers, Perišić, unlike Fabinho, for instance, looks the more solid with Morata.

Don't think you could get the deal done within the next 29 hours

Which means you'll either have to pay €50+M or move on to the next target

It also wouldn't do much for Woodward's reputation as a negotiator if he spent so many weeks trying to play hardball and then ended up paying Inter's original asking price.

Imo we will either sign him for a decent price in the next day or so OR end negotiations and move on to another player.

Ed's tactics have miserably failed then ? How sad.

Paying such a price or not will depend on how badly Jose wants the player.

I say well done to Woodward for not spending so much on a mediocre player. Just because we have a lot of money doesn't mean we should allow clubs to take the piss with their demands.

Or not to move to any targets. Martial, Rashford and Miki can cover LW, with Martial being a focal point for the spot. The hell with Inter and their ultimatums.

feck off Torygraph.

Why do wingers often become "forwards" according to shitty journos?

Yep, entering the season with one LW with a striker and a RW/number 10 covering for him. Excellent for another top 4 battle.

We'll sign an alternative target for the wing position if we can't get Perisic for a reasonable fee. Nothing to worry about...

I believe Martial will do much better this season. And Rashford was not bad at all on the left wing.

Imagine, we could finish 4th if our luck improves. Great improvement from 6th

And if he got injured or his form dropped we're back to the same problem we have this season.

We need proper wingers, entering the season counting on one player only in each position with the covers are players from other different positions will only result in another top 4 battle.

Ok, I hear you, but not Perisic for that price.

You're talking as if today is August 31st and he is the ONLY winger we can sign. We have two full months. You have faith in Mou if we sign Perisic but you dont have faith in him that he will sign another winger if we dont sign this bang average player.

What happened to players throwing a good old hissyfit.

This guy apparently wants to play for us, then fecking down tools and push the transfer through.

I don't know who his agent is, but the fecker should throw around some chairs.

Hmm did you read the full discussion ?

The poster I was talking to was suggesting we enter the season depending on Martial only with Rashford and Mikhi as his replacements, and I said this will be a wrong idea.

Even then adding this turd just so we have more depth in the wing position is bad business and that too for the money being branded about. We will get more options.

Raiola did that for Miki at Dortmund's office and it worked:)

Look, if we get Morata, Rashford can do a fine job covering Martial. In fact, Rashford can do a better job than Perisic.

If we're not signing Perisic I think it's important we target an out and out winger, preferably in the younger age range around 23/24.

No, he will always be looking to cut inside.

A lot of people, me included, will ask for players like Lemar and Bernardeschi for the LW when in fact they are totally different players to Perisic.

Perisic will keep the width and contribute massively in defense - while most of the other options touted around won't but will look to cut inside.

Jose obviously needs one of these workhorse type wingers to keep the width to get his system and plan for us to work, and there just aren't that many options around.

He's not turd and would have been a very good signing if it happened but opinions will never change anyway. Fans decided to put him on the list with Fellaini and Lingard even before playing a single minute here, it's hopeless.

What has he done in his career to prove that he will be a good signing? I mean like Ive said many times before he JUST had his most productive season of his ENTIRE career with Inter and that yielded an output of 11 goals and 11 assists. It would be like us signing Defoe cause we need a striker. We need to look above a certain quality of players to play for United.
