They're going to make too much money from infrastructure projects to 'rebuild' Gaza.Disgusting behavior. Israel will never start to behave until the West puts pressure on them, and places conditions on the massive amount of military support they are being given. It's just not going to happen, when everyone in power in the west is so cowardly.

And a highly traumatised population with not much hope will be ripe for narcotic consumption.
Look on the bright side. There's a fortune to be made here!
Only the experience of what has happened in the likes of Iraq and Afghanistan. Call it a hunch.Do you have any numbers that support the notion that Gaza is in any way financially profitable for the West?

Murderers.
Yes.Is Israel still "defending" itself??
It's insane, how can anyone defend this? How is this justifiable? Are they really better than the terrorists they are fighting?
If by defending themselves they plan for no Palestinians to remain in Gaza, then the plan's working. They've learned there's no repercussion to slaughtering 5000 women and children, so they might as well complete the course. The US, UK and various allies have determined that a ceasefire only benefits Hamas, so its in the world's interest that Gaza is turned into the world's largest graveyard. Hopefully that finally forces the remaining Gazans to all scupper to the Sinai desert, so the Israelis can swoop in and build something (and to quote Ben Shapiro, Israelis build things, Arabs just blow them up). And once that's done, the Israelis can go full speed ahead with empowering settlers to ethnically cleanse the West Bank too. Then and only then we'll have peace and stability for the region. The Palestinians started this whole conflict on October 7th, so the Israelis will finish it, backed by the benevolent might of the US and various allies. So there's hope.Is Israel still "defending" itself??

Was discussing the situation with someone, where he was firmly in the "Israel is defending itself and showing restraint, Hamas and Fatah are terror orgs and have broad support among Palestinians" camp. At one point he called Palestinians a "horrible people", and when I called out that rasist statement he called me a Jew hater in return.
That was the end of anything resembling a grown-up debate. He was so incensed at the suggestion that he said something racist, and I was to busy trying to find out what I'd said that lead to him calling me a jew hater. How did you guys finish the discussion?
Interesting post. I saw this video recently and you get to see how different people from different backgrounds and ages have justified and internalized this
... best form of defence is attack!Great bit of defending from them it has to be said.
Listen to their officials, they are not trying to hide, this example above is one of tens of videos of officials showing their true faces. But the problem is not them, because we already know their true colours.
The problem is the international community, because they have the power to stop this madness, but their response is not good enough. When someone like the ambassador above talk like that, he should be challenged on spot and aggressively, but it is obvious, people are afraid to do so, because they will get canceled.
Trouble is, not applying international law consistently just further emboldens the AS stereotypes that the Jewish lobby has this soft influence over global power structures.Disgusting behavior. Watching this killing going on in Gaza currently and the stances of various governments would anyone be really that surprised if a kid growing up there, with no ties to Hamas etc grew up to be a terrorist?
The West has no incentive to do this. It is not like their citizens are on the streets and forcing their govt and elected representatives to answer for the barbarism. It is only a minority on the internet expressing shock and horror. And some minor street protests that they can handle.Israel will never start to behave until the West puts pressure on them, and places conditions on the massive amount of military support they are being given. It's just not going to happen, when everyone in power in the west is so cowardly.

One of the issues is "the West" isn't an actual thing. Its an invented construct used primarily by non-Europeans to refer to Europe and the US or NATO. Each country therein has different geopolitical priorities when it comes to nations in the middle east, which obviously includes Israel.
