Does Hamas have an increased range version of the R-160?

The message says that’s what was being fired at Haifa & what fell on the hospital, but the R-160 doesn’t have the range to make it to Haifa, unless there’s one I can’t find info about.

Is it really like that?

All of Israelis want this to continue?
Surely they realize this isn't the way to do it?

I mean, use your brain.

Where are you from? are you typing that from the (relative) convenience of your home?
Israeli people, while having the strongest Air Force in the region and the backing of the US,
truly fear for their lives. This includes me and I think I've shown enough times in this thread that I am more than capable of using my brain.

Survival instincts will always beat logic.

and no, not all Israelis. but the vast majority.

Not seen enough of these Jdam rockets but the video did seem similar to me. Instead of being an intercepted rocket exploding in mid air and coming down on its own velocity or perhaps hitting terminal velocity, it looks like it started off slow for guidance then ignites and comes down with huge speed that cuts through the air direct on target.

I don't know, willing to wait for confirmed video and trained people that have experience in seeing these.

If it was a JDAM I suspect it was thought to be a Hamas base located within the hospital.

No idea about the range. I did check the most popular hamas telegram I could find and saw their claim about firing R160 at Haifa, though it was a later message than the one I saw tweeted about.

JDAMs aren't rockets. They're a guidance kit attached onto free-falling bombs to make them capable of adjustments in flight and hitting an IR marker or GPS coordinates. They're dropped from a plane and just fall to the ground with no self propulsion.

That video posted by the Israel twitter account was confirmed to have happened an hour before the actual explosion at the hospital so it couldn't have been that one anyway.

EDIT: their tweet with the video has also been deleted since....

Yeah the IDF never lied about anything before, poor Shireen says hi.

Not on this forum they don't need to, and certainly not through people posting horrific images.
This particular thread is about an armed conflict. And it comes with the territory. As long as prior warning and spoilers are used, it should be fine.

Despite me initially assuming it was an Israeli strike, it does seem like the video evidence is pointing to a malfunctioning/intercepted rocket.

This is a live Al Jazeera broadcast of the moment:

The first images from the hospital begin 36 minutes later on the Arabic live stream. The live stream is available here and you can move the slider back to the apposite times: https://wwitv.com/tv_channels/b6006.htm

The time of the explosion is 18.59. Images from the hospital begin at 19.35.

What do you think it was in that video?

JDAMs don’t have propellant. It is a targeting kit slapped onto a dumb bomb.

What I don't understand is this-
Is the Al Jazeera reporter supposed to be standing relatively close to where the explosion occured?
How did he not turn his face towards the explosion? did he not hear anything?

Anyway, this looks nothing like your typical airplane-drops-bomb-on-a-building.

Even if the IDF indeed has recordings of Islamic Jihad members talking about that launching that went wrong,
it still won't cut it for some. Like I said, the bias is very strong on both sides.

But if they do have rather strong evidence that it wasn't them,
it would be nice to hear from those who said that "everyone who can't see it's Israel is a fecking idiot !!!!!!!1@!@!@!!!!!!!!".

After the restraint of the last few days, delaying the attack (assuming they had a planned strategy) it doesn't make much sense that it was Israel, because of Biden's visit, I mean.
But even if it was Islamist jihad/Hamas, and even if irrefutable evidence proves it, would it calm the unrest in the neighboring countries or in the West Bank?
It is in the interest of Hamas/Jihad/Hezbollah for the conflict to escalate to another level now? always taking into account the American presence?
Do you think Iran has anything planned beyond the incursion into Israel a few days ago? That is, a roadmap with a real war?

They will have to release their proof to the public, their words won't cut it.

Especially since you know they've been asking hospitals to evacuate all week and since the same hospital was struck last week.

I can't speak Arabic so I've no idea what's actually going on. I don't think the video on the right has anything to do with the reporter though. Watching through the live stream it just seems to be a generic video of the Gazan skyline that they play between specific news segments.

Yes, I'm aware of that. but like I said, skeptics will remain skeptical.
let's say they release whatever proof they have to the public domain-
people will claim that everything can be deep-faked nowadays.

The IDF guy on TV said they had absolute proof, so why wait to disclose it...? Surely that will just feed the conspiracies

I don't think Hezbollah and Iran have the desire to make it bigger than it currently is. However, Hezbollah did warn that tomorrow something may happen.

It's a big mess at the moment but most intel that has come out indicates that Iran and Hezbollah didn't know that Hamas would do an attack of this scale and barbarity.

No idea mate.
probably want to show it to Biden before they show it to the world,
feck knows why.

The more they dilly-dally, the more conspiracies will follow, I agree completely.

It doesn't help when members of the government and official Israel account are posting and deleting tweets....

Sounds like Saudi with Khasoggi.

Sources for this? Hezb. is one thing,
but for Iran to not know every tiny detail of this attack and approve of it before it happened... very very unlikely.

what's more plausible is nobody from their side could have dreamed of such success.
They probably didn't prepare themselves for such easy circumstances so far as slaughtering civilians/kidnapping them would go.

on a separate note-

you guys won't believe how many more planes I'm currently hearing. it's 2 AM here. I don't know whether they fly in the direction of Lebanon or Gaza.
But things are definitely heating up.

Yes it does, looks really bad from the outside.

it might have been a soldier (responsible for the IDF Twitter) that for some reason thought that the original video was approved to be posted,
while it wasn't so. I've no idea, not looking to find excuses for them.

Immediately after the Hamas attack, U.S. and Israeli intelligence agencies concluded that Mr. Nasrallah was surprised by the scale and intensity of the assault. It was part of a growing body of evidence that neither Hezbollah nor Iran helped plan such a major attack by Hamas, said U.S. and allied officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity to divulge sensitive details about the crisis.

Guys, please don’t post these kinds of images. We can imagine…

I saw one picture here and almost vomited. Jesus!
While I understand not wanting to see it, the images need to be shared to display fully the horrors that Israel is committing. And only through sharing uncomfortable images will more people speak up.

Thank you! Let's see what happens tomorrow...
