Never let them tell you that the genocide is being done in the name of Judaism, that Palestinian emancipation is not supported by Jewish people. Israel's barbarity is Israel's barbarity (and that of the US and supporting cast).

They pulled it out.

It's actually a wonder Palestinians have support among the public in the West after watching the media work their propaganda in the last 16 months and seeing how easily the zionist lobby influences them.

By the way, the chief pathologist of the Forensic Institute said tonight there's no evidence of the mother and her two children being hurt in any way by aeriel bombardments.
I read in an online news story somewhere that Sheri Bibas and her young boy and baby were put into the hands of members of Islamic Jihad, an even more ruthless and extremist organisation than Hamas. No doubt if the findings of the chief pathologist are correct, the murder of these young children and their mother are not sadly not surprising.

If my recollection is correct, their members murdered the idealistic Vittorio Arrigoni who went to live in Gaza to support its people and ended up being abducted and hung. His idealism extended to criticizing the theocratic nature of the Hamas authorities and expressing the desire to see a society there open to different ethnicities, religions etc. Not the thing to say in a state ruled by Islamic hardliners even if he was not murdered by them but an even more extreme organisation.

As far as I know they were taken by a different, smaller group, called the Mujahideen Brigades. I'm guessing they were not as organized at handling the hostages after October 7 like the bigger groups.

The family probably would have had a better chance of survival had they actually been in the hands of the Islamic Jihad, as they held some hostages who have been released alive in the last few weeks.

My mistake - thanks for the correction and I might have also got it wrong about who killed Vittorio.

Arrigoni was killed by a short-lived Salafist group with links to the al Qaeda franchise in the Sinai from what I remember.

Grand, Hamas is great then.

I mean, how fecked up is this situation that people look at this and think "meh"?

There's no question Israel has done worse things. Hamas also did worse things. But to see two guys who have been hostages for a year and a half, and were taken out of the tunnels just to see their friends released while they are sent back to the tunnels for god knows how long, possibly to die there, and come out with THAT reaction...

Others have already responded to this, so I'll not add to the pile-on, other than to say that I am slightly offended by the emotional anger directed at me in that reply.

I will accept that my original post could also be considered offensive though, but realistically it would only be offensive to a minority of people, who hold a specific viewpoint.

Fair enough.

There's no doubt far worse things have occured since October 7 (and, well, in the last few decades). I guess you've had to have heared about these two guys regularly in the past 18 months and be exposed to the anguish of the families in order for a video like that to sting the way it has. Maybe evil was too strong a word under these circumstances. Perverse might fit it better.

Their Time Is Up

Such gleeful cruelty has no parallel in the civilized world. Sure, war is hell, and combat rarely concludes without a handful of shocking aberrations. A soldier may crack and do the unthinkable. A rocket might miss its mark, snuffing out innocent lives. That is all too regrettable, and all but unavoidable. But that is not what is happening in Gaza. The footage of a dead Jewish baby returning home to Israel for burial compels us to tell the truth: The assertion that most, or even many, Gazans are innocents hijacked by their tyrannical leaders is a polite fiction. There are certainly some somewhere in the strip, the very young and the very frail included, who neither partook in nor condone the atrocities of the past 18 months, but they should no more redeem Gaza’s genocidal enterprise than the hypothetical ten good men of Sodom and Gomorrah could the cities of the plain.

Like Abraham, our shared Patriarch, we, too, struggled to find the righteous among the wicked. We hoped that the Palestinians of Gaza will show something of the courage we had seen in Syria, Tunisia, or Libya and stand up to their maniacal overlords. No protest materialized, and support for the tyrants grew the more adept they proved at slaughtering the Jews. We hoped for a Palestinian Oskar Schindler, one righteous man or woman who would stand up to Hamas as righteous men and women stood up to the far mightier Nazis and say that no cause or ideology justified the brutal murder of an infant. None came forth.

If we didn’t understand all of this before, we ought to now that we are burying two dead children. And the lesson we must learn is simple. It comes down to one word: enough.

I am fecking fed up of the constant collective demonisation of Palestinians. It’s projection.
Netenyahu, Bannon, peas in a pod.

Wake the feck up Liberals, these are the grotesque people you are promoting when you do your "happy now" PEP genocide apologia. You are stooges for far right antisemites and you look stupid as hell.

Bannon is yet another vigorously antisemitic Zionist.
