Huge attack. Tons of rockets landing around. Nothing like I have ever experienced. Also terrorists crossed the border to Israeli towns.

Terrible morning.

Yeah... same here.
They caught the entire country by surprise, this hasn't happened in decades.

If indeed they managed to kidnap a soldier to the Gaza Strip this is going to be a long, long one.

Look at who finances them and you know who gave the order. Israel's answer will be terrible, we could see an invasion into Gaza for this.

Israel is caught with its pants down, it's 1973 all over again, almost exactly on the same date as well.
Heads will roll in the IDF once this is over, hopefully soon enough with as few casualties as possible for both sides.

There's talk about Hezbollah joining soon from the north.
Oh boy.

This is deeply sick stuff. Murdering civilians in their cars and at bus stops.

It's funny how the international media is now paying attention when it's Hamas attacking Israel, yet they stay silent when Israel continues to attack, kill and displace Palestinians daily.

Shows how they want to display the narrative one way, if you never report Israel's atrocities but only when Hamas attack, people will think the aggression is only one sided.

Whatever the media narrative is, there’s no excuse for what Hamas is doing.

ISIS like videos circulating.

Yes, I very very stupidly watched one.

I wrote earlier that, in case they managed to kidnap a soldier (they did, that's the horrendous video I watched), it's gonna get really ugly.

Now there's talk that they kidnapped plenty, soldiers and civilians alike. and murdered many.

If I had to guess, I'd think this has at least something to do with Iran trying to sabotage the Israel-Saudi Arabia peace talks.

Whatever the media narrative is, there’s no excuse for what Hamas is doing.

I'd be willing to accept that if the same people who criticize Hamas do the same for Israel, but that ofcourse doesn't happen in most main stream media organizations.

It is not funny or peculiar at all, this is the modus operandi of the media for literally any conflict ever. From Kosovo to Syria to Israel and beyond.

The truth is that very few conflicts have a side in the right and a side in the wrong and it all comes down to interests and narratives.

The very same USA who created an independent Kosovo also supports Israel. Ridiculous.

Agree. Loss of civilian life is undoubtedly sad. But it’s only something that gets mentioned when it’s Hamas. No one gives a ahit when it’s a Palestinian loss of life. Then we need to hear every excuse under the sun.

They're shooting folk at bus stops, dragging people out of cars, killing them where they lay. Israel is a brutal and murderous regime that visits misery on millions. This is a massacre.

What choice does Israel have?

In all probability, the above-spoken narrative won't last long either way.
Once Israel gets over the complete state of shock it is currently at and starts striking back,

bombarding Gaza with air strikes and all that...

There are going to be thousands of deaths in Gaza, women and children included.
The images and videos will be even more horrific than the ones we currently "have" on the Israeli side.

Both sides will look like villains in this one,

and the citizens of both sides who are the real victims of both regimes, will be the ones suffering.

Hamas doesn't care about its people any more than my government cares about a rocket falling some 300 meters from my building,
and that I have to sit in a shelter and frantically make sure that no one I know has died.

Reserve pilots over there have all been recalled. Everything is spinning up. Can't even contact my friend over there so assume she's working. Wouldn't be surprised to see them use heavy weapons on their own streets to begin with. Tens of pickups/suvs full of Palestinian gunmen still roaming about shooting up whatever they can.

It's going to be horrific as you say. The right has been waiting for an excuse like this.... They will kill, kill, and kill more for revenge. It won't go unanswered and they will completely overreact.

Stop continuously creating "facts on the ground"

When the facts on the ground are this - the right wing and hawks don't need to create more. They will retaliate in the same way the US, UK, or any other major power would. With brimfire and unabashed murder.

The footage coming out looks very bad, Hamas fighters going around killing everyone they come across. Piles of dead civilians laying in the streets, reminds me of the Butcha massacre.

The saddest part of this is, that 2 sides killing each other and the one who finances this shit show sits at the sideline laughing. I'll never understand how Iran isn't buried in sanctions. It's the biggest failure of the west allowing Iran to destabilize the middle east for decades.

Fecking hell lads - you may as well just say you're delighted this is happening.

The Israeli defence ministry look like complete tools here. All that money and US support and all you need is a few hairy-arsed blokes in jeeps driving over the border to slaughter your people.

They could do with having a look at themselves before razing Palestine to the ground

Well of course. The horrendous lives of Palestinians will no doubt get even worse and even shorter as a result of Hamas' outburst of terror. Meanwhile Israel will infiltrate further, create more and more settlements and end up with more "facts on the ground". It's a very obvious cycle. Squeeze until the hate explodes, push it back into an even smaller box and ramp up the pressure. Hamas is a parasite that feeds on this.

The farther the west stay away from the region, the better, especially given their own history and contributions to the conflict in the first place.

You started that post so well, alas.

Narrator: they are buried under sanctions.

Hmm I think the subtext is pretty clear actually

If the subtext was that the Western media and politicians don't seem to care as much when it's on the other foot, I think that's not completely inaccurate.

Religion apparently.

They're both going to regret it when they realise it was all just made up a long time ago and that we're just all the exact same dipshits, and stubbing your toe on a chair in the night feels equally painful no matter what nonsense your parents told you to believe in.
