Isco

that makes it 32 attacking midfielders in the squad for Arsenal next season

Surely Real wouldn't let him go. You never know with them though.

Isco is the first name on the bench. He got the minutes this season because of injuries to Bale and later Modric.
Nothing will change for next season. Even if we sell Bale, another galactico is coming to take his place in first 11.
If Isco wants guaranteed first team football, he will have to leave the club.

So if Arsenal signed him it would presumably be a three of Ozil/Isco/Sanchez behind Giroud? Pretty tasty but hardly what they need.

Edit: Not that I actually believe the random twitter source, obviously.

I thought Isco was meant to be one of Real Madrid's best players :wenger:

Are we actually believing that bullshit?

Watching him tonight on Real's left just showed how ideal he'd be for us, especially under an obsessive like LvG. He knows how protect the ball, work in sync with building attacks, can deliver a cross with either foot, cut in and get involved and tracks back all game helping his fullback. Then you have the option in a game like today where he could easily have played in our midfield 3 and added attacking aspects sorely lacking in the players we used.

I said it last week before a few people shot it down saying we don't need him.

People seem to think he is slow. He can dribble past players with ease and would offer a lot more creativity.

The whole slow thing came from an old report supposedly from one of our scouts, Isco isn't rapid but he's quick enough and so skillful he can drift past players and has the strength to protect the ball as he does. I think some are so keen for us to get Bale or Depay that Isco is being overlooked, despite actually having more of the qualities that seem to fit with LvG's tastes.

To be fair, most probably think Isco won't leave or isn't available to us.

I'm not sure why they think he wouldn't leave but Bale will when all of the noises coming out of Madrid are the opposite. Us not being interest for some bizarre reason is of course probable.

I'd prefer to him Bale for what it's worth.

Knowing Florentino I would not rule out anything, but it would be really unpopular. Isco was angry a few weeks ago when he returned to the bench immediately after the reappearance of James.Apparently Ancelotti and Ramos had to calm him. I think with his conditions will be very difficult to be a 100% starter, especially because Madrid loves to sign attacking creative midfielders and usually they have to play out of place. I imagine him as Guti ,a great player that spent more time than he should on the bench.
For United would be a great signing , basically because for the viewer and fan is very entertaining to watch him play. I think if Rooney is playing in the midfield it is because Van Gaal believes that creativity is missing, however Mata- Isco on the same team seems too risky for his mentality

Without prejudice to Isco, I would point out, incidentally, that you could have said much the same about Di Maria this time last year.

I think he'd be our best option within the likely De Gea deal.

In many aspects that is true but only with Di Maria in the midfield, he was always very erratic as a winger. However if you look at what LvG clearly demands I think Isco ticks several boxes Di Maria would never be able to.

Isco is like Silva, just more of a goal threat than a creator. He'd be an amazing signing.

Well, Arsenal signed Ozil out of nowhere so I don't think this signing is impossible either. That said, there's no reason to believe Now Football, an absolute nobody

Would be a dream come true, but i see 0 chance in us signing him. If he'd ever become available Barca and Bayern will be all over him.

I'd imagine a midfield 5 of Mata-Herrera-Carrick-Isco-Young might be too open for Van Gaal's liking but I'd love to see him at United.

A midfield of Carrick?New DMF - Herrera - Isco - Di Maria - Mata can outpass every team.

Bullshit story, the Real Madrid fans love him. The club would have a mutiny on their hands if they sold him.

Well he's not going to be happy sitting on the bench for inferior players that's for sure. As it stands when everyone is fit he's on the bench regardless of how well he plays and he's been comfortably their best player this season.

----------Carrick
Herrera-------Schneiderlin

Mata orDi Maria------Rooney-----Isco or Di Maria

I would really like us to sign him. Herrera-Mata-Isco would be

If De Gea goes there, we should insist to get Isco. I think that he would be way more suited to our game than Bale.

Not his best game yesterday. Will be a star soon though. He could/should become an excellent midfielder.

It's been mentioned several times that LvG likes multifunctional players, Isco ticks that box, he could play in the midfield 3 or the front 3.

Agree 100%.

What with Madrid having signed Kovacic now, does this make Isco more available?

Rumours Juve want him, but if he's even remotely available we should be all over him like a rash.

I'd get him. Probably good for us if LVG see's him as a number 10.

Come on LVG, give them DDG, get us Isco!!!
