I wouldn't get too happy yet. City not getting Isco could mean City making a desperate attempt to sign Thiago.

See, I can find the negative in anything. :)

That's how they ended up with Nasri, they missed out on Sanchez and were desperate for a signing, so they offered him ridiculous wages and a fat payment for his agent, after he'd already agreed to join United.

Will be a fantastic player for Madrid. I remember watching him at 17 for Spain and he already looked majestic then. I'm really not sure what happened at Valencia, he barely got a sniff of the first team as the years went by. At that point I did wonder if he'd fallen off in training or something. But from his very first games for Malaga it was already clear Valencia had messed up not playing him

I actually wanted to see him in the prem:(

No way. Not at City. Not for me anyway, I watch enough of Madrid and Barcelona to see him play regularly. Don't want him to strengthen City.

Yeah but thats not a football match its a cheating contest. You'll see about 2 Isco dribbles in the whole match, simply because 70 minutes of it was arguing over the ball when the ref blew his whistle. Would have been great to see him in the premier league, but not at a title rival

Brilliant news. feck off City, don't deserve ruining the careers of these young players.

Had Pellegrini not been manager City wouldn't have had a chance. Hopefully he makes the right decision and chooses the bigger and better club over slightly more playing time and a safe manager.

Would be happy to see him at Madrid, the thought of him at City was frightening and I wouldn't have enjoyed that feeling of enjoying his performances and at the same time willing City to fail. As long he doesn't come up against us in the CL, I'd wish him well.

It can't be coincidental that Pellegrini has (apparently) given assurances to Nasri about his future at City.

Madrid fans are crying out for more Spanish players both in general and from their academy. So they'll be happy with Isco. I think he'll link up well with Özil too.

Disagree with the bold part. To me, Madrid is just a massive series of in-fighting and stupid power struggles, a club made up of a bunch of wimps who are more concerned with their own place in the pecking order (on and off the field) than winning anything as a team.

I believe that true character is shown in times of adversity, and in those times the people throughout Real Madrid show themselves up for what they truly are.

If I was a player, I don't think I'd be able to see past that. The prestige of playing for a great club would not overcome the day-to-day shit there. Hardly "living a dream".

I actually think Isco would be better going somewhere like Atletico - guaranteed first team football at a high standard, playing champions league and not in the middle of a circus. I think it would be far better for his career long term.
Was Talking of Madrid as a club. Tha club is bigger than any player, coach or president. You may dislike the club, but you are blinded by hate if you can't see of playing for real Madrid (and also succeeding) wouldn't be a dream for the majority of football players...maybe even more so Spanish players (this doesn't mean playing for other big historic clubs isn't a dream as well)

They are I didn't think he would go for that much. Also I disagree he will be a replacement if Ozil/Di Maria do not buck up their ideas.

Not City - good news.
Madrid - a shame, but better than City at least.

I was worried this could happen with Thiago. I was hoping the Isco saga would drag out for ages and Thiago would be wrapped up quickly.

Isco in 2009 :smirk:

Lol, interesting to see what he'll say now. Something like being delighted to play for the biggest club in the world blah blah blah. Interesting move from Madrid, Perez usually cares only about the marketing deals from a player, and Spanish players for Madrid doesn't sell that much shirts. Strange, really!

Did this actually happen?

A few journos reported it at the time, Duncan Castles was the main one I remember though. As far as I can recall, there was something about Nasri having agreed to join United, and sorted most of the deal including his wages, but his agent then wanted a big payment on top of it upfront to complete the deal, United told them to feck off, and that's when City came in and offered even bigger wages, the agent was such a cnut that even City almost refused to pay up, but they were so desperate after missing out on Sanchez that they gave in eventually.

 fecking Nasri.

The worst part of it was, I think he actually wanted to join United. There was another story in the papers at the time, again it might have been Castles who wrote it, but I can't be certain, anyway this story had supposedly come from someone connected with Nasri, and it was basically saying he'd been desperately trying to back out of the City deal, but Fergie wouldn't have any of it. So the daft cnut missed out on playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world because he listened to his agent, who was more interested in pocketing a huge payday:wenger:

You really do have to question the intelligence of a lot of these players, some of their decisions are baffling, he would have made millions as a United player anyway.

He's a fantastic talent and likeable player, how ever will he fit in at the capital club :p

Congrats, Vato. Mou leaves and suddenly there is a formidable midfield shaping up
