You know when they say attitude they are talking about on the pitch he too often lets games pass him by he has already shown he is too good for that so it frustrates the coaches. Mourinho hinted at that as well as Kaka coming on and being impressive.

Anybody can have a bad day on the field. Attitude can be many things, his attitude on the training pitch, it could be his defensive work on the field, and it may not match the coach/manager's expectation, which could be an issue with Mourinho expecting too much too. You just can't say he's inconsistent. Maybe you expect him to do better than he's currently doing because you see potential in him, but then again, it's just your opinion. Sorry, but I think it's bullshit.

Why because he gets loads of assists? I would not call him inconsistent if he had the off bad day that is silly. He goes missing enough for me to remember it. Maybe is it because I watch him on a week to week basis and his performances go up and down that is what you get with Ozil. One week he is amazing the next not so good it isn't hard to imagine. It does not make him a bad player either because he is not. Would I take him here? In a heartbeat. To mention he struggles to impose himself on games consistently considering can hardly be called bullshit.

Florentino Perez just made the comment that: "We'll be announcing Isco's signing soon."

Which sounds like an announcement to me.

Annoyingly he also said: "We're building our team around Ronaldo - he'll retire here." which sounds like a threat. Even more annoyingly, having previously said he wouldn't use a release clause against Barca, he said Thiago's a question for our new manager, who will be Ancelotti.

Perez can go and take his face for a shit. Real can't sign and play everyone and I don't think Ronaldo will be happy being told what he is going to be doing.

If real become involved then Barcelona will regret playing hardball with us over Thiago, so will we.

fecking Barca is something, but going to their archenemy is a much bigger deal. I think that Thiago has that much integrity.

If Madrid are involved, might work to United's advantage, surely they'd much prefer to work a deal with us, and shunt Thiago into a different league, rather than hand him directly to the enemy.

Malaga's owner confirms Isco's sale to Madrid.

One oh his tweet reads:
T
his is the player's choice, we can't stop him due to the transfer clause. I preferred that Isco would leave Malaga to another Spanish club if he must leave and not any club outside Spain, thats something I'll hold from commenting on"

Strange comment. Most teams, it they were to lose their star player, would surely prefer to lose him to a club outside of their country.

Most Spanish clubs find it's an advantage to stay on good terms with Real Madrid. They have a large and very successful academy, that supplies players for just about everyone except Madrid. Getting a good young player on loan or cheap (with a buyback clause of course) can be a big deal.

Especially when you're as broke as Malaga are.

Oh, I understand. But is that guy bonkers or what? Read somewhere that he's planning to retire Isco's shirt number! Isco is a player who has been at Malaga since the good old days of 2011.

 Just saw Malaga's owner tweet this, so unnecessary. Retiring a number for a player who was there for 2 seasons and was only developing, not even a world class player or anything. Ridiculous.

Phew. Him at City would have frightened me, similar to when they signed Aguero and Silva.

It is good that he's not going to City. Presumably this will speed up Kaka's departure.

I guess Real will line up with two in the middle - Alonso and Khedira or Modric, then Isco, Di Maria, and Ozil, then Ronaldo, with Benzema as backup. Not bad.

Are you implying that Ronaldo plays as a lone striker? The last time I watched him play there was against Almeria in 10/11 and he didn't have a great game. He expressed his opinion where he said that he doesn't like playing as a striker. Real Madrid will line-up with either the 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3. I think Isco will have to earn his place, but if they deploy the first formation, it will be Modric and Khedira in midfield (Alonso misses start of the season), Ronaldo on the left, Ozil behind Benzema, and Di Maria on the wing. Isco can play in either of the positions behind Benzema. What he does offer is competition for Ozil who had a good, but not brilliant, season. Also, he offers competition to Di Maria. More importantly, he possesses the ability to create chances against the smaller teams that Real Madrid struggled to get past last season.

I also think they will use him as attacking midfielder, Oezil's position, and Oezil will be rotated with Di Maria on the right.

I am mostly just wondering how they might line up. Mourinho started with Benzema or Higuain normally which made a lot of sense as it meant Ronaldo had a free role... and I guess if Real buy another striker that would probably continue... but with the squad as it is right now I'm not sure Benzema would be worth a place.

Fair enough, but Ronaldo will not play as a striker. He wouldn't really have the same freedom IMO. On the left wing, he has the ability to offer width, cut in, or make those great runs centrally, which get him his goals. Benzema wouldn't stay at Real Madrid if he wasn't given any assurances over his future. With Higuaín on the verge of joining Arsenal, Benzema is now the main striker and he will thrive off that, as he did in 10/11 and 11/12 (to a certain extent, though he did experience rotation). Real Madrid may still buy a striker, but Morata could share minutes, so that's still unclear. I think the main thing, regardless of who plays as the lone striker, is that Isco offers that extra bit of unique play that no other Real Madrid possesses. For instance, I'd say his dribbling is the best in the squad right now, hence the comparisons to Iniesta. It's a great transfer, but no doubt the EPL critics will love this.

Poor City, that's another player they've lost out on so far. I guess the shine is coming off?

One or two of them end up rotting on the bench for a couple of years. Then the next 'El Presidento' gets elected and they get sold on the cheap after being blamed in some way for Madrid not winning every trophy ever.
