Isco

How are people so sure that Zaha will immediately be a first team player. Personally I think that he will be the fourth choice winger this season. Maybe he has the talent, but I doubt that he can make the jump from Crystal Palace to United's first team in his first season here.

I don't think its a reflection of how high people rate him, more a reflection of the lack of confidence in the wingers we already possess.

Not the topic for it, but I just think that Zaha will surprise a few and will eventually become a first teamer this season. I don't think he'll start the season as a starter, but I'd say by Novemeber, I think he'll impress enough to be a starter for us.

I'm not 100%. But I just have a good feeling that he'll be a success for us.

ANYWAY, I hope they don't sign Isco.

People are going by Valencia's form last season and Nani's probable departure which leaves him as the first choice right winger.

If Rooney will still be here, I think that it's pretty sure that Kagawa will occupy the left wing. Then we have the liked of Valencia and Young - players who have been shit last season - but are still good and proven players. Add to the combination Welbeck who will play a lot of games in the wing and I can't see Zaha being first choice winger. I can see him playing games in Cups, Champions League group stage and the odd game here and there, but becoming a starter in the first season, well I really doubt it.

I think that both Valencia and Young will have better seasons than this one, and the same can be possibly said for Nani if he stays here.

Anyway, hopefully I am wrong about Zaha and he will become Cristiano Ronaldo version 0.7 in his first season here.

Well I agree with you but was just giving reasons why people had him down as first choice.

The way I see it Valencia will start the season first choice and if he is still shite only then might Zaha have a sniff at being a regular starter

Yep. If both Valencia and Young continue being shit (with Nani leaving and Rooney staying) then I can see him fighting with Welbeck for the right spot winger, but it's a big if that both Valencia and Young will continue being shit.

Anyway, going back on topic, we could do worse than signing Isco to replace Nani. Just imagine both Isco and Thiago here next season. Sadly it looks that City or Madrid will get him

You're acting like the chances of Valencia being shit are extremely unlikely. Personally i wouldn't be surprised if all of them struggle next year.

Zaha has a lot of work to do he will struggle initially but should hopefully improve next season. Valencia i'm expecting an improvement he can't be as bad as he was this year again if not his time here may be over. So it looks like Valencia and Kagawa in the wide positions currently. I would like us to bring somebody else in but there is not much wing quality out there that we can sign realistically.

Why people are hopeful of Zaha next season:
1. Young is shit
2. Valencia is shit
4. Nani may leave

Come on Real, use your muppet powers for good for once and keep him away from City.

He looks so good it would be frightening to see him play alongside the mercenaries.

Sign this mofo up... would be a crime to just let him pass by.

That was insane. What a player he is. He's instantly going to be one of the best players in the prem if City sign him (praying that they don't). He can easily be one of the best in the world, if not the best. He's that good.

Brilliantly taken goal. Is he likely off to Madrid?

Either Madrid or Man City according to reports. I think he will end up at City tbh.
He's had a 17m buyout in his contract up until recently, his potential has always been huge for a number of seasons now I wish we would have been in for him earlier.

That shimmy was sheer class. Quite good that lad...

We should have just given big Dave two blank checks and let him get the job done. He's good at everything else, and has this lovely 3 week vacation in Tel Aviv with him and Thiago :)

He's too slow.

That article also says we're signing Fellaini and Baines. I wouldn't treat it with much authenticity.

It was a good finish, but no way would a experienced defender fall for that dummy, was awful defending.

He is clearly a class act though, will be one of Spain's key players in the future.

Where would he play here. If Rooney stays it makes less sense to buy him because we want to see what we have in Kagawa though Isco is a talent you would not want to miss out on. Buy him now ask all questions later.

He's mediocre at best, shining in a tournament with weak opposition *in denial because he's going to City*

He's a very good player.. But was always bound to get overrated on here, simple because he's style is so easy on the eye.

I think he's potential bpitw material. Seems to have as much in his locker as Gotze, although he hasn't yet got Gotze's ability to do what he does despite being constantly physically pressured. Honestly his dribbling is so good that if he just had more pace, he could potentially be another Messi. That lack of explosive acceleration and pace is the only weakness in his game that I can see.

He and Thiago both look like seniors getting a run-out with the U21s a lot of the time, despite the incredible quality of so many others in that Spain U21 side. Thiago is definitely the right one for us to be going for, despite Isco's quality. We don't really need an Isco (as much as any team can say that they don't 'need' a player like that) but we have been crying out for a Thiago for half a decade now.

I agree with what you wrote. His talent makes me want to say sign him anyway and sort it out later. If Rooney stays no need at all. If he were to go I would say SIGN SIGN SIGN! I think I do anyway. He can play on the left or in the middle.

If he goes to Citeh I don't know how we handle them. We need to keep up in this arm race dont we?

Not a good way to run a transfer policy. We can't outspend City in terms of volume, so we need to be more clever about it than them. A good step in that direction is to buy where we need first, and that means that Thiago is a much higher priority. It also helps that he's going on the cheap, whereas whoever gets Isco is going to have to pay through the nose. City must be able to feel FFP breathing down their necks by now.

Martin Ferguson getting ridiculed for an apparently less than flattering scout report on Isco

An alleged scouting report too! That said, this pace issue might be why we were never seemingly interested in Mata.
