The way you talk about him seems to me like you think he is absolutely shit and has done nothing for Barca.

His first season with them last year, he scored 15 goals and assisted 7 goals. And this year he had 11 goals and 14 assists. And last year no one played well for Barca - Villa, Pedro and Sanchez were all mediocre. But this season all three have responded well.
It's not exactly hard to rack up those stats with the amount of possession Barca have and Lionel fecking Messi in your team. Ibrahimovic had great stats but he pretty much considered as a flop.

When I say he looks lost, I mean he's lost what made him a special talent at udinese. The quick burst of acceleration he had, the dribbling ability has been missing for me. He's become a lot more mechanical when compared to the player he was before moving there

First of all, those ARE the stats. You cant just ignore them because they are the best team or because they have Lionel fecking Messi. Its like saying its not that hard for Messi to score 96 goals in a season when he has such a good supporting cast around him. Also your take on him being absolutely splendid for Udinese isnt exactly right either. I agree he was a great talent there and had a lot of potential but he still had only one good season before he made the move. The season before he moved he scored 15 goals and assisted 13, which is similar to the stats he has this season. And the season before that 09/10 he had 8 goals and 7 assists in 42 appearances for them.

I rate him very highly considering that he's done a great job for us every season but the last and with a consistency a lot of other players can only dream of but I know it's hard to remember further back than one season.

I agree NoLogo bar last season Valencia has been superb for us and gets far too much bad press imo.

I am not ignoring the stats, they just don't tell the whole story.

He was fantastic for Udinese that season (and before that he impressed in the WC as well). And while he has half decent stats, he hasn't much of what made him so exciting at Udinese.

But he was their main player at Udinese. Thats why you felt he was very effective. Same with Zaha and Crystal Palace. He had a huge impact for them. But do you honestly expect him to make that sort of impact with us next season? First of all he needs game time and even if he gets it, there is no guarantee he will produce. Players need to adapt to the teams they are playing in for the betterment of the team. That is what Sanchez is trying to do.

Where did I say anything about his effectiveness at all?? I am talking about his style of play. He's just not the same player he was at Udinese, it doesn't look like you ever saw him play there or else we wouldn't be having this discussion.

The Zaha comparison is bizarre. No I don't expect him to make the same impact but what I do expect is for him to remain the same player we signed and not become a pale imitation.

He was their main threat going forward. So he had more of the ball, he was more direct. Hence he had a different style of play there. Now he doesnt need to. He needs to be more of a team and that is where you are seeing the difference.

Sanchez has lost the part of him that made him the special, exciting talent he was at udinese. I can't put it any clearer than that. And as a football fan let's hope that doesn't happen to Neymar

Barca turned him into just a cog in the machine to provide Messi for more goals, completely dulling him. I don't think he's lost it, and if he joined a team that suited his direct style and encouraged him to play with flair than I think he could easily rediscover it and become a great winger.

He's got good close control, strong, quick off the mark and has a eye for a needle thread pass. Whether he can play that tap tap stuff i don't know.. But we don't play that way.

Well fair point maybe we suite him better. So far we can only guess though and has he even been linked with us so far? If Nani leave which is very likely he could be an option, we sure could need another good dribbler next to Kagawa.

Sanchez is an interesting prospect. There is something about Barca that makes players go there and struggle. Just the way they play everything is for Messi and about making that simple pass. Messi and Iniesta are the only ones who can operate in the tight space they have to beat players. It is all about passing, touch and movement there moreso than in other systems and the standard is higher. These are not the things that Sanchez does well. He is an old fashioned winger. Sanchez has been okay he has not set the world alight. He does not get to use his best strengths in their system. The player at Udinese was quality. Due to the fact he is 24 I would be interested in signing him. Direct, fast, skillful he can finish and beat players. The typical winger we like. The standards and they way Barca play does not suit many players it's always hard to judge somebody who fails at Barca.

Class again today, his first touch is immaculate and he's a pretty sturdy little fella, not easily knocked off the ball. His touch and finish were top drawer.

I think he has the potential to become the best player in the world. His next club will be crucial to his development.

His goal today for those who haven't seen it yet, what a first touch that is.

Not really fluke, a bit of a spawny take but it looked as though he intended to do SOMETHING with the trailing leg flick. Fluke would be bounced off his arse spun up over his head for him to volley in or something.

I agree with this, I mean there is certainly an element of luck in how it was perfectly executed but Isco still meant to control the ball with that trailing leg and that's matters the most. The intent to try something audacious and pulling it off

I tend to reserve 'fluke' for things completely out of your control that come off. So for me the strikes from Crouch and Torres the shoulder volley's werent flukes. Good speculative hits but not a fluke.

Good touch but it was hardly a stand out first touch considering it is Isco we're talking about. That was relatively simple for a player of his technical quality. The whole move put together showed good composure, good goal but not great.

You expect him and Thiago to standout at u-21 level. But he really impresses me as a player Spain just keep them coming. Will be interesting to see where he ends up. If I was Real I would be tempted to flog Ozil and give him that spot. He Ronaldo and Di Maria would do well.

That bastion of credibility Caughtoffside have us as making a bid for Isco imminently, I have no reason to doubt the accuracy of this news.......Now excuse me, my Doctors appointment is in twenty minutes.

Only positive is that front line is very lightweight. Then again if you can't get the ball of them it doesn't really matter!

Does anyone think he's similar to Hazard in his style?

Hazard is abit more direct and explosive, little less guile. Isco is more silky, arguably more intelligent and creative but I can't see him tearing up goal-scoring charts but he's definitely not a typical Spaniard attacking mid, he does like to be an individual whereas the likes of Silva/Mata are very team orientated though the latters stats are productive on both assist and goal front. Tough call as to whose going to be better.

City getting closer apparently

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2341489/Isco-close-signing-Manchester-City.html

He plays left side doesn't he?

Could be moving Silva inside and look like this next season, not too shabby.

Toure-----Fernandinho
Navas-----------Silva--------------Isco
Aguero

Quite fearsome that, but I still think its in defensive areas and abit more quality cover allround in the squad which is needed. They lack an entire squad which possesses the right character but they're heading in the right direction with that front four.

That, against:

Carrick Thiago

Zaha Rooney Kagawa

Van Persie

Very close indeed. Assuming of course we sign Thiago, we'd only have two newcomers to the PL. City would have three. Risks on both sides.

Carrick Thiago
Zaha Kagawa Ronaldo
RVP
Then we'd blow em out the water.

How are people so sure that Zaha will immediately be a first team player. Personally I think that he will be the fourth choice winger this season. Maybe he has the talent, but I doubt that he can make the jump from Crystal Palace to United's first team in his first season here.
