Isco

I wouldn't look too much into that...the journalist who said it, also said we're buying Fellaini and Baines.

we wont sign him as he's an inside forward than an out and out winger like Zaha. No chance of this happening.

Let's not criticise our Iberian scouts. They may have missed Silva, Mata and Toure, but they spotted ......................... Bebe!

I dont think they have missed them. Obviously everyone knew about them but cost might have been a factor. Fergie was still playing 4-4-2 in which case not many Spanish attacking mids might fit into our team. That could have been another reason.

Carrick Thiago
Zaha Isco Kagawa
RVP

Too much silk to ask for?

Isco is quality, and he has splendid bandy legs a la Rivaldo.

To be honest we can't sign them all... But he's easy on the eye like Zidane. His not rapid but he moves fast enough.

It's a shame that we are not remotely interested as his talent is very evident and he's a joy to watch, but my guess is Rooney will stay which means Kagawa will start most games from the left which is Isco's best position.

I think this lad is a future WPOTY and an ideal replacement for Nani. Whoever gets him is getting the real deal. He isn't just some kid with potential, he's already better than most players in his position and he's only a baby.
If he goes to the right club, he'll be up there in the Messi/Ronaldo bracket in a few years.

The heir to Iniesta.

Graham Hunter says that the race for Isco is between Madrid and City. He claims that on footballing terms the player prefers a move to City as the instability and queue of players at Madrid will not favour him. Apparently though, Madrid have offered him a lot more money to join them. City will not pay close to Madrid's wage so the deal is stalling.

The way he maneuvers out of tight situations is just silky smooth. He does it so effortlessly. One of my favorite players to watch right now. The talk about him being too slow is just bullshit. City or Madrid are going to be so lucky to have him. Him and Götze are the two players today in my opinion who have the most 'flair'.

I think we like more direct players on the wings than the likes of Isco. That is why players in the ilk of Sanchez or Di Maria will be higher on our scouts list than him. More direct players, who can also track back and help out in defense. Hence the talk of lack of pace, I guess.

But he is equally effective if not more effective than the likes of Valencia or Young. And players can always be trained to track back well enough.

I am not disagreeing with you or the others. Just guessing a possible explanation.

I like him and think we should be in for him. I wanted him in January before he signed the contract and the release clause was increased.

If we end up with Di Maria and Sanchez my inner Muppet will commit suicide. Couldn't think of two players who would excite me less. Okay not really, Henderson and Barry would probably do the job.

I get the same feeling. We like a certain type of winger and Isco isn't that. The players you mentioned are quicker and more direct.

Go back 2 or 3 years ago (when Sanchez was leaving Udinese) and he was top of everybody's muppet list. Di Maria is also a very good winger, and both would do a very good job here.

They are both better than Young and Valencia. I would still have either one of them over both Young and Valencia.

What's it with throwing our own players under the bus on these forums?

Everyone who prefers Di Maria over Valencia must be nuts.

There is a reason why RM wants to get rid of him and that is because he plays 6 out of 10 games shit, 3 about average and 1 world class, he is worse than Nani in that regard.

Sanchez might be a hard worker but he has no brain hence the reason why he can't make it at Barca where you need to be intelligent to fit into their system just running around headless chicken mode doesn't do it.

No way anyone of these players would improve our current squad.

Good grief... How well do you rate Valencia!!

I rate him very highly considering that he's done a great job for us every season but the last and with a consistency a lot of other players can only dream of but I know it's hard to remember further back than one season.

Does that apply to you to? Because you say Sanchez has no brain on the back of his Barcelona career when at Udinese he was brilliant, and clearly demonstrated that he does have a brain!

Wouldn't mind Isco if we get can get him on the cheap. He is pretty talented and is a up and coming youngster.

He always was a good dribbler and fast but no I can't say I was particularly impressed with his football intelligence at Udinese either, even though I haven't seen him as much playing for them as I have for Barca.

But the reality is that he couldn't cope in a team where a high degree of tactical intelligence is needed and everything he did over the last couple of season suggested that he had no idea who to fit into their system you just needed to compare him with Pedro to see all the things Sanchez consistently did wrong.

I know it's hard for players to adept to Barcas style of play.

But I'm curious of what makes people think that he would be a success for us and not fail here the same way he did at Barca, what in his game makes you so convinced that he is what we need?

He's got good close control, strong, quick off the mark and has a eye for a needle thread pass. Whether he can play that tap tap stuff i don't know.. But we don't play that way.

Sanchez would have been a success for us imo. Very quick, skillful and direct. Was never the right player for Barca with their tiki taka nonsense but pretty much ideal for us.

Not sure about buying him now though, looks a player lacking any sort of confidence

Robben and Sneijder were the same when they were leaving Madrid, and they both turned into world class players. He'd be a great fit for us IMO.

Dunno about that. Robben was one of their best players when he left and Sneijder had injury problems. Sanchez just looks lost to me

The way you talk about him seems to me like you think he is absolutely shit and has done nothing for Barca.

His first season with them last year, he scored 15 goals and assisted 7 goals. And this year he had 11 goals and 14 assists. And last year no one played well for Barca - Villa, Pedro and Sanchez were all mediocre. But this season all three have responded well.
