India's tour of England

Odds are still on the draw, but England have bowled really well this morning and given themselves a chance.

I'm starting to love Plunkett.

No better sight than stumps flying all over the place.

Good start to the morning for England but I still think this will end in a draw.

Think England should have enough to win from here, especially if they nibble out one or two more before lunch
India have been unlucky in the sense that they've faced the best bowling conditions,

Shami wasn't ever a 90mph plus bowler.

Aaron and Umesh Yadav are and both of them can still bowl. Our coaching staff though decided to leave Yadav at home inspite of him being one of our better bowlers.
Just read that Yadav is not actually 'home' but rather on a tour of Australia with the India A team.

As it stands, England will have to score 180 in roughly 60 overs. In these conditions, I dont think that will happen.

Enjoyable to watch now.

Never thought I'd say this -- I am glad it's Binny out there and not Rohit.

Well, shit.

Need 50 more runs.

Jadeja out but that's a better knock than any he's played for us.

Binny's doing all right to be fair to him. If he gets a 50 here then I hope he keeps his place for Lords.

Aye played out Anderson and Broad in a very tough phase. Binny looking pretty good too.

Very impressed with Binny tbh. Never thought he has this type of innings in him.

Lead of 228 now. Need to play 5-6 overs and we'll have a draw IMO. No way England chase 240 in 40 overs on the last day.

It's over now. Good game considering the pitch and if not for the no 11's we might have had a result.

Hope we get a good pitch at Lords. Think Ashwin for Jadeja might be the only change we'll consider. This innings for Binny has strengthened his case for the next match.

Reminder that Stuart Binny is currently married to this

Cook takes a Test wicket with some of the filthiest pies I've ever seen on a cricket pitch

Bhuvaneshwar looks a good batsman, but if Lord's is a flat deck, I would like to see Ashwin come in for him.

Looking forward to see how Binny develops. Batted pretty well and hopefully he improves his bowling.

Is it just me or is Kerrigan for Stokes a really obvious swap that the England team will completely bottle because Stokes scored a century once?

I imagine they won't drop Stokes for Kerrigan as they won't trust the latter without four seamers in case he has another mare again. That's why Ali will probably get the shove.

I agree, thats exactly what they'll do.

But I don't agree, you can't pick a bowler and then not trust them. Half of Kerrigan's struggles were because of how badly Cook managed him. Thats not to mention the fact Ali's in better nick (Stokes hasn't scored a fifty in first class cricket since his return) and is probably a better bat anyway. Broad, Plunkett, Anderson, Kerrigan, Ali (Root) looks pretty balanced to me.

The irony is the two batsmen who most deserve dropping are Cook and Bell, but their senior so they won't go and one of the younger players who have been to a man pretty decent will go.

Anderson potentially out of the second test as he's charged with level 3 offence.

No-one cares about Jajeda-Anderson or Ballance getting pissed, get on with the fukkin series.

The pitch is unbelievable! Never seen such a green pitch in my life

Be very surprised if we.reach 200 on this pitch. Not sure if I have seen a greener pitch than this.

Lot of pressure on Pujara now.. Someone needs to get us through this initial 20 overs or this test will be over in no time..

Dropped!!.. Oh boy, don't think we will last long on this pitch.. :nervous:

How is this any different from us preparing square turners at home and that's something we get severely criticized for.
