India's tour of England

I understand British Indians supporting India (although it's plain weird when they're born here but whatever) but I do think it's out of order that a large section of the crowd are booing English players for no reason.

Especially Moeen who I presume is being booed especially for having the audacity to play for England despite being, well, English.

Exactly, what a bunch of morons. The booing was pathetic whatever the reason was.

that was completely disrespectful from Dhoni..

he just refused a single with rayudu at the other end.

Excellent game. Should've taken those singles...

win or lose, you shouldn't do that kind of thing to a guy playing as a specialist batsman at the other end.

Just wrong.

I think the uglier side of things is Moeen seems to have been targeted because he's of Pakistani descent (I can't imagine the India fans being angry he doesn't play for Pakistan).

SkySports cut to a break as soon as Bopara's name was announced as the next batsman to come in.

Even so it would be odd for them to boo Moeen for playing for England, why would Indian fans be booing him because he doesn't play for Pakistan? He seems to have been booed more than anyone else in general too.

Yeah. It's not odd, it's just downright stupid. Moeen's a class guy.

Dhoni's message to Rayudu..."you are worthless." Which will be some achievement given his CSK players have been mediocre but still get picked (bar Raina)

Dhoni thinks overall tour was good. Yeah, once we discard the longest and most important format, eh?

So why are they booing Moeen Ali?

It's pathetic and embarrassing whatever the reason like but I'd still like to know why.

I also thought it was odd Dhoni thought it was overall a good tour, India were far superior in the ODI series but they lost the T20 and were woeful in the Tests. Does that constitute a good tour?

Because of his Pakistani background? They apparently booed Bopara too, maybe because they feel he should represent the country he;s lived his whole life in. Smart bunch that crowd.

For starters, I don't understand why they'd boo any of the English players anyway, if those 'fans' were English citizens themselves. Makes no sense at all.

It makes little sense for them to be supporting India in the first place. Excessive nationalism -towards a country you barely know- is bizarre and potentially dangerous. Where were they during the test series?

Nope. They lost pathetically in the one that mattered most.

Indians in booing a Pakistani origin player shocker. It was embarrassing but given the history of India and Pakistan there was some reasoning no matter how ridiculous.

The outrage is amusing though considering the English crowd at Lords who nonsensically booed Jadeja without any reason.

There was no booing towards Bopara. Stop making things up.

Panesar when he came to India also wasn't booed. Its not a matter of what nationality does he play for. There's still loads of bad blood between India and Pakistan.

Dont try to justify it KM, its stupidity of the highest order. Booing someone because of their country is idiotic enough but booing someone who was born in England because of his ancestors? :wenger:

I'm not.

I said its embarrassing. I'm just giving the reasoning as to why it was done.

Moeen Ali is of Pakistani origin? ffs I thought he was of Indian origin! booo Moeen boooooooooo!! :wenger:
