India's tour of England

How is this any different from us preparing square turners at home and that's something we get severely criticized for.
It isn't. Anyone who criticises you for that should be ignored, anyway. Providing you create pitches that aren't dangerous and get results not high scoring draws, you should be able to prepare them to suit what you wish. It's part of home advantage. What makes test cricket in different parts of the world interesting.

Yeah this is not much different IMO.

I agree with that. You should be allowed to prepare pitches that suit you best but for some reason that's seen negatively.

IF we get any decent score, don't be surprised that we actually do well here. This is the kind of wicket that our bowlers actually do well in.

Yeah, such pitches do even out the enormous gap between our bowlers and England's.

Batting well here. Just hoping we can nick one off, before long, as I don't reckon all India's batsmen will be quite as suited to conditions like this.

Well would you rather one like this or one like the last one?
The point being made was: When subcontinent teams prepare dusty square turning wickets, there is a lot of criticism. Not so much when bouncy green wickets are prepared elsewhere. In both cases, the home teams are simply trying to play to their strengths.

Well it's more than that though too. In England because it's a wet and moderate climate the pitches don't tend to go hard and bouncy, and don't usually take much spin either. So if you've got a pitch that probably won't spin and probably won't be fast and bouncy, what else can you do? Either yuo prepare a pitch like the two against Sri Lanka and the one at Trent Bridge which produce terrible boring cricket, or you can leave grass on the pitch and hope it'll help the seamers. In fact, the Lord's Test vs Sri Lanka was also a pretty green pitch by normal standards and that was a dull flat wicket in the end, so really the pitch we have today is about the only option if you want to cause exciting cricket.

:confused::confused:
I don't see anyone criticizing this pitch and therefore I don't get what you're on about.

What's going on with over rate? 20 overs in an hour and half?

Edit: Seems it's pretty standard. Thought they were behind.

Dhawan out Gambhir in next test? If Dhawan doesn't score a career saving hundred again in 2nd innings that is.

The pitch looks like it will flatten out as the game goes on to me. Bearing that in mindI'd say 250 would be more than ok

Brilliant ball to get Kohli out.

English fans booing Jadeja was as classy as Liverpool fans booing Evra without any facts. Well done.

Nope. You can't compare a racism allegation with an allegation of a push.

That wasn't the point of comparison. Jadeja got booed by idiots even though there has been no facts regarding this incident, they booed him because he had the temerity to report Anderson.

Nah, you said it was comparable in terms of "class" to booing Evra. It isn't, because of the massive difference between what is alleged.

So you're assuming what I meant even though I'm telling you that's not what I meant?

B Kumar has enough talent to become an absolute top class all rounder. My favourite Indian cricketer.

What? Again this..haven't seen much of it, poor tactics by England again or does Indian lower order batsmen show more application?

Edit: Gone now, kumar. Jinxed it.

Ffs sults :(

They have taken us to a very good score though. Would have taken 240 when I saw the pitch at the beginning.

270ish is pretty decent I think.

The pitch will probably be dead tomorrow though (compared to today). It'll get trimmed and rolled.

England doesn't have any threat apart from Broad and Anderson.
