India's tour of England

Typical india this. Love how lower order batsman always destroy us.

Would be pretty pissed if DRS took the headlines again. Apart from the Prior wicket, every wicket was a goner. Our bowlers have done very well so far.

Although I'm still not confident we'll win this match. We've let two matches like this out of our graps in our last two away matches.
What of this Binny fella?

What of this Binny fella?

Stuart Binny will most likely debut tomorrow. We're fecked.

He's like Paul Collingwood except Collingwood was a handy bat and excellent fielder. Binny is neither, and is probably equal to Collingwood in bowling.

Fecks sake.

Here are my thoughts on him.

 Why is he getting played then? You guys normally have one good fast bowler and was thinking with the success of IPL must have had a few good bowling prospects.

cos Dhoni wanted a medium pace allrounder. Our other option was Pathan who was injured or else he'd have played.

You guys have an allrounder in the U-19s, played at number five or six I think. He was pretty good in the last WC. Pathan as an allrounder is pretty useless last I remember.

Off spinner allrounder.

Doubt it will deteriorate. Question is how badly England bat. Assuming there isn't rain on the way.
The lower order performance from England has now probably ensured that this is going to be a draw.

Very good performance from our seamers though. It would probably be a great contest if we had a bouncier, greener pitch. Albeit one which would be over in 4 days.

Not enough time in the game for a result I think.

Hopefully the Indian batsmen attack after Tea tomorrow so they have the whole of day five to bowl at England.

To be honest, I'm not sure a day is enough on this pitch. Need to bowl England out fast, smash it for 2 sessions or so and maybe get a lead of 300-350 to give England the carrot, and hope for closer to 4 sessions to bowl at them. Especially since weather could well become a factor.

No way will Dhoni give England four sessions to chase 350 on that pitch, even if weather cuts out some time. I think India will bat the whole day (weather permitted), get a lead of around 375 and hopefully give it a go on the last day. Wouldn't be surprised if India are batting on day 5, though.

We needed to get Anderson out quickly to have a chance of winning. Still slight hope if we get the last wicket within first 20 mins.

How many runs did your last wicket partnership get again?

Not sure how that's relevant, he was just pointing out we're shit at bowling tailenders out.

Or anyone, really.

Match's shifted now -- it's a draw or an English win.

I fecking hate this tactic for bowling at a tailender and an established batsman - it never works and it's even boiling my piss watching now even though we are benefiting from it

EDIT: India still have a significant lead and would be more likely to win than England for my money, although the good money is on the draw.

Both the teams are shit

yea. Although, have to say, Anderson and Root both are batting well, as opposed to the usual awful bowling from our bowlers.

I would fancy our chances on a track that aids bowlers, though. Think our bowlers would get more utility out of it. Our batsmen are better than England's.

Next one's at Lords. That's another flat deck.

That Binny pick has really fecked us.

Love that shot for Anderson to get to his fifty.

Having played some lovely shots, he just closes his eyes and swings from the hip.

Anderson could get a hundred here. Root better not let him down.

Also what the hell happened to Shami? I thought he was a 90mph+ bowler but he's struggling to pass 80...

This doesn't augur well for India, if they continue to play so badly it will carry over into their batting
