ICC T20 World Cup 2024

England's decision to bowl first will go down as one of the worst one in knockouts.

Seemed daft then and proving so now.

Ah well - semis is a decent showing and the right stage for this side currently.

India-SA would be the right final based on the tournament as a whole.

English fans must be furious with that. Two down, you're the experienced player out there, you know the ball is staying low, you don't take even a single delivery to get a hang of the new bowler, and swing recklessly. Bairstow ought to be ashamed of himself for throwing his wicket away.

I've been watching cricket since the mid 90s, through the peaks of the likes of Akram, McGrath, Warne etc but I don't think I've ever seen a bowler be so much better than the rest as Bumrah has been in the last two years. Whether he's as good as those is another debate, but how much better he is than his peers is unmatched. Steyn might be the only one to consider.

It's T20 mate. Shit happens.

Not furious about any of this, semis about right for this side.

England are tragic. How are the likes of Bairstow and Ali still in the team?

We are by no means tragic. They are good players.

Always get rattled when this thread goes for hyperbole as I generally enjoy the discussion here.

Moeen Ali is like the Afridi of 90's and early 00's. Consistently underperforms but has one or two performances in a year that keeps him in the team.

England blundered by batting second.

Might be going down leg or umpires call maybe.

Probably a mistake but just think India with this bowling line up are nearly unbeatable. Throw in Rohit finding form and it's madness.

Despite the fact the start of this thread Indian Users tried to claim you are shit for some reason.

England never fail to surprise you in the most confusing ways

Need the rain to pour down any moment now so we can claim we woz robbed.

Rohit said at the toss that they'd have batted...probably expected Rain to play a bigger part

Barstow was probably the best batsmen in the world about three years ago (on form - not technically). Struggled post awful injury.
I feel like gets dragged around unfairly a bit. For about 4 years before the World Cup, he was phenomenal as an opener but he always gets played in different positions. Happens in the ipl as well where teams find some openers and then send him at 3 or 4 and he’s shit.

That's a long time in cricket. He shouldn't be anywhere near any of the teams at the moment. To top it off the keep sending him in ahead of brook

Two pretty drab semi finals. Hope the final is on a flat one and we get a slog off.

He's lucky to be in the side at the moment I was taking issue with you saying he is shit. He is not shit.

Completely agree. His time is now up though.

Here I was, worrying about the pitch and par scores and D/L calculus, while some of the English batters non-chalantly, almost peacefully, decided that they didn't want to spend too much time playing cricket today.

Jadeja hasn't taken a wicket this world cup I think?

Extremely crucial innings today though.

Their bowling fecked up. India were 30 runs above par. This isn't a 170 pitch at all.

Yep. This is our Australia group game all over again.

And India have an even better attack.

If he isn't shit what is he? He can both have been good previously and subsequently shite now. I haven't said anything incorrect.

Rooney was shite for about 4 years at the end. He was also so unbelievably good in his prime. Both are true

Agreed, it certainly wasn't when we were batting. The concern was that it might improve in the second half (it hasn't, not too much). But some of the wickets were definitely reckless, and had to do far more with game sense and responsibility than the pitch or the quality of the bowling or the scoreboard pressure.
