ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

I'm actually serious. Can anyone give me an explanation for why we surrendered without a fight? Why did Dhoni and Jadhav not slog? Why were we taking singles? What's the point of keeping 5 wickets in hand and losing without taking risks?

Kohli was worried about the net run rate.

Obviously not serious, I hate to say it but Dhoni since no longer being captain comes across as a bit of a selfish player.

Oh, someone's a little prissy aren't they? if this is how you respond to a little banter after my thoughtful post was mocked then I'm not sure on what grounds you can use to respond to it in that manner.

I was actually referring to the two times your boys got decimated by the Aussies in 2003 and 2015, but if you want to crowbar in 1999 then you do you, hun...

I'm still angry at Dhoni refusing the single. what the actual feck was he thinking? The selfish fecker.

Na they wont make the final, they will probably meet Aus or India in the semis provided they dont lose against NZ and they will crumble under the pressure. I only trust Stokes on that team to have the right mentality in that situation.
Oh, my bad. I thought he was an Indian fan.

To all those Indian fans giving it to England over the last few days: :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

I know you wanna rub it in. But it took a flat wicket and a 50 yard boundary for England to beat us. Literally everything in your batsmens favour. And then without ever stepping out of gear 3, we got to 306 and that, too, after having thought we were playing a test match.

Oh, and two injuries to two important players.

We didn't even play Aussies in the final in 2015. But whatever makes you feel good 'hun'.

Stokes should have got MOM, his knock was the difference between the two sides in the end.

Yeah don't get me wrong, it wasn't stupendous stuff from our bowlers. I'd call it a good disciplined bowling performance and barring one drop a great fielding display against an Indian batting line-up that struggled to get started. India looked as if the big total messed with their heads a bit, you're missing Dhawan terribly, Rahul's struggling at the top, Pant was on debut and Dhoni is past his best. A few key issues coming home to roost for you, but you're still a fine team and can use this defeat as a spur to put a few things right.
My Anger is mostly due to not even trying as it was a good batting pitch and England bowled well but it was nothing where we couldn't even score specially first 10 and last 5.

Dhawan going has weakened our batting even more and having test match players doesn't help. Not really worried about this defeat as it pisses pakistan fans off and we'll make Semi's regardless.

Anyways good win for you lot. Congrats.

Were you playing on a different pitch to us then? There was a short boundary and you hit 27 in the first 10 overs. This is why people take the piss. You are making excuses instead of just saying England were the better team.

What did he say?
Asked kohli what he thought of last five overs. Kohli said dhoni was trying, and they'll talk about it. Was pretty generic but other Indian commentators would've not asked the question.

Do Indian fans think Jadeja should come in for Jadhav? He is a good bowler and fielder however his batting is a bit hit and miss. Would give them some aggression lower in the order?
No chance. Part of the reason the top order does the balancing act is because the middle order is weak. Jadeja isn't a top 7 limited overs batsman. Unless it's a 250 run turner, no Jadeja for me.

I'll have a go at playing Andy Zaltzman, that was England's fourth highest score at a World Cup and 3 of the top 5 have all come against India.

If India had won the toss today the result would have been flipped. If the wicket had anything in it for the bowlers, India likely would have won also. When you look at the NRR post match, the damage control worked as India is still ahead of NZ on NRR. Indian fans are going to cry about the attitude but then again these fans will moan about anything, utterly useless.[/QUOTE]
Exactly. Hence why I posted a bunch of laughing emojis.

I can understand losing to England after being outplayed. They have a terrific batting lineup and were formidable batting first in a good pitch, finding the short boundary cleverly. They bowled well, fielded well, and set up fielding to nullify players like Pandya and Rohit.

But we lost because for some bizarre reason, we did not want to win after Pandya got out. Would love to know why MS gave up so brazenly despite being in a position where we could win from.

Damn that's one bad loser . You are still above England and England might not even make it through. These excuses are pretty embarrassing

Then we are in agreement haha, dont want it to come back on you though .

Dhoni has far too much power, could cost his country the World Cup

Should have never been part of the squad. Oz would have dropped a player like this two years back from ODI squad. Instead we want to give him a farewell tour in this cup. He can only lose us a game here not win one.

Thought we bowled really really well.

Those first 10 overs were brilliant.
For sure. That's where game was won. Plunkett was excellent too.

Still feels like we could make more of Buttler though. Sticking him in with six overs left is like bringing Ronaldo on with 15 minutes to go.

India's problems are the same as always. Batting lineup is overly reliant on a couple of players. I'd move Dhoni to four so he can build an innings and have Pant coming in at the end.
