Hulk on the move again?

You wouldn't like him when he's Anzhi's.

That's not good, he's a beast.

166 appearances 76 goals 55 assists for Porto.

I haven't seen a lot of him to be fair, but whenever I've seen him (usually CL) he hasn't done much. He just seems one dimensional.

I reckon he'd be brilliant in the Prem, he has pace, strength and he loves taking a man on, I reckon he'd be a hit.

Has a 100 million euro buyout clause though.

Doesn't he usually play on the right of a front 3? He just seems to cut in and shoot every opportunity he gets. While it isn't bad it just seems a bit obvious. If he played through the middle it might be different and I agree that he has the raw attributes to be a very good signing, but with Torres I can't see him getting played in the centre.

He's shit. It would be amusing of you spunked £40M on him and Baines.

to be fair he has alot more than that in his locker, its just how porto are setup, hes bound to be cutting inside because as with most left footers, his right foot is shocking.

Ive seen him play down the middle for brazil before and he looked decent, almost adriano like in a way.

I think theres no doubt whatever porto are asking is ridiculous, nobody with any sense would pay that much for a player who has every chance of being rubbish in our league.

But on the other hand he is a player capable of magic on his day, and if you can get that regularly out of him then he will be worth every penny.

I can imagine him coming to the premier league and being very drogba like. Powerful and fast, but with suprising skill for a guy his size. Of course he is not at that level yet but is younger than Drogba and has the tools to get there

He's the type of a player that you keep hearing about but whenever I saw him play he was quite average.

The worst part about Hulk rumors is the fees the media keeps mentioning, it's insulting.
You'd think they're talking about a world class star, like Ronaldo. Players like Silva, Mata and Nasri were sold in the region of £20-25m, and they all proved themselves in better leagues prior to that.

Of course he may turn out to be quite a gem, but I'm yet to see him do well against quality opponent.

It's what Porto do though, better than almost any other club. They legitimise a lot of South American talent.

The release clause is just being quoted until the player makes it clear that he wants out, I personally think he'd be worth the €40m or whatever it will take. He looks an incredible talent made for the premier league, but then I've barely seen enough to have a worthwhile opinion.

He has been tremendously consistent for Porto and is by far our most important player. He won't be released for cheap, though we must manage his expectations (he has been a tremendous professional in the past 4 years, extremely polite to the club, but it's natural that he, at 25 years old, wants to prove himself in a bigger league). I think he'll be awarded that chance, but fortunately he doesn't seem the type to fret if the club decides not to sell him in case no decent offers arrive.

A lot of unrealistic muppetry on the Porto forums, where many regard him has the 3rd best player in the world and expect he will be sold by something like 60-70 million euros. I really don't buy into that.

As good as he his for us, and despite the easiness with which he destroys teams in our league, he isn't even a guaranteed started for his national team. That is sure to have some weight in his market value. Hence why I think it's laughable that some people really think he's worth 70 million euros.

The most expensive player to ever leave the Portuguese league was Falcao at €40m (which by the way Atletico is having tremendous difficulty to pay and might be therefore forced to sell him). Though completely different players I think Hulk should be valued similarly and would consider a good deal if he was sold for that kind of money. I can imagine mass rage ensuing among Porto fans if that happens though, hence why I'm not 100% sure he will be sold.

The only way I see him leaving for more than that is if a club from a lesser league goes really over the board, like PSG or Anzhi. Hulk really wants to go to a better league though, and I think a LOT of money would be needed to convince him to go to such clubs.

Interest post.

Can see him at Chelski and that Falcao being bribed by City.

Just had a look at him on Wiki and found this:

Kedah JKR

Kedah JKR bought him for 35 million euro and he signed a 4 year contract in 25/5/2012. Badrol Bakhtiar who is leaving Kedah JKR when his contract expires stated that Hulk is a quality player will fit into Kedah JKR very easily. Wan Jamak Hassan stated that Kedah JKR needed a natural Right Winger and Hulk is the best at that position. He is expected to wear the #11 shirt which when Badrol Bakhtiar leaves Kedah JKR.

 what the....

35 million for a brazilian hulk? For much less i could get the original one in green and buy him a new shirt...

I just saw on Hulk's wikipedia page that it had appearance statistics for 'Chelsea - 2012/13' listed - I thought for a moment we had signed him.

Damn wikipedia.

Both the idiots in the ESPN commentary box think he'll go for 80M euros. Someone should explain to them the difference between a player's buyout clause and his market value.

This bloke once played in the Japanese league. Amazing he might end up playing in one of the Europe's top clubs in the near future
