I don't really follow Bundesliga. Did he actually win the player of the year or did he win Kagawa player of the year awards?

No, just some people getting carried away, but doesn't mean he's not a good player, he was 1 of the 4 top midfielders.

I highly doubt that will be it.

I expect us to sign 5 or 6 and let go of 2 or 3.
Yeah, I'm guessing 5 signings in total. Regarding the full-back, @salford_ gotta be kidding too. Especially since Bailly can play as a right-back and we have more than ample cover on both full-back positions. How anyone can prefer a full-back over a quality RW/AM or central midfielder with the squad we have is unreal. Mkhitaryan cannot occupy both RW and AM, and I'm not sure we can put our trust in Memphis, Januzaj and Pereira..

Xenophobia? Isn't that a word used to label people. The club I seem to think, already have foreign people playing for them so your point is moot and not needed in a thread about a footballer and on a football about footy.

That's the joke, have you heard of current affairs?

Add Vidal --- Ozil to this list as well (I remember they went more than 300 pages aso well). And if you go far back then Ronaldinho (he actually broke my heart) :(

:( I was in school when the Ronaldinho saga was going on. I was on the verge of tears when I got home to find out he chose Barcelona.

I remember, I was giving my medicine graduation exams and was so ecstatic that after becks left, this guy was coming. He actually gave interviews about him coming to United and paid tribute to Scholes then and said along the lines of dream of playing with these guys. I was so ecstatic and then suddenly barca. I literally stopped studying and just went into deep depression. Losing becks was a trauma in itself and this not happening. Damn! He shouldn't have built our hopes up
But on the hind sight we got Ronaldo ;)

If we had got Ronaldinho we wont have got Ronaldo I think. Fergie said he went for Ronaldo because he couldnt sign Ronaldinho. So I would say it all worked out in the end?

It's funny I've seen him play live once but other than that I actually don't have a clue how good he is. Is he fast? Can he cross? Can somebody with knowledge on Mhiki shed a light on my inquiries ? I saw the game Dortmund against Frankfurt in December and he was decent.
I'll give it a crack for you. Can he cross is not a question you should be asking cause he's not really a winger, he's an attacking mid. A proper attacking mid, not a playmaking one. He's not going to contribute too much to our pattern of play, or the control of games that we have but he will be trying to win us matches. He's not going to give us much width either, he's going to give us central penetration. He'll be going where the space is, not hanging around the touchline.

He's fast, real fast. With or without the ball, it doesn't actually make too much of a difference. He's these players that glide with the ball at speed(think kaka) especially in transition when There's open spaces. In those situations he'll beat men easily, in some cases more than one at a time. Put him in a static one on one and he's taking us nowhere.

What makes him a great player? His movement in the final third. He's one of the best off the ball movers in the game today(alongside Ronaldo and Hernandez IMO). You'll notice in situations where There's space, he'll be there in a jiffy ready to finish. If There's a gap between the midfielders and defenders, he'll be there in a jiffy ready to carry the ball. He's a very intelligent footballer and without being a remarkable passer, he creates lots of chances cause of that.

His biggest weakness? That's his finishing. Because of how well he moves, he finds himself in great positions lots of times in games and he has a tendency of not scoring as often as he should. His ball striking technique is nothing special and he'll certainly miscue a few. In Klopps season he really struggled to find the net despite numerous opportunities, let's hope he comes with his scoring boots.

How good is he with the ball? He's very good without being amazing. He's not going to do things with the ball that'll leave you flabbergasted(he's no hazard), but he's got good control and loves to turn with the ball. Technically, he's about in the Lallana category.

Hope that answers you question. In a nutshell, he's a very effective double footed attacking mid with pace, football intelligence and phenomenal movement. What has me very excited about this, and something that makes me believe he'll certainly be better than KDB and Ozil next season is that he fits the way Jose plays like a glove. I'm expecting nothing less than Mahrez numbers from him, nothing less.

Whenever I want to type Mkhitaryan I just remember it as MK Hit Aryan :D

I just think of this guy every time I hear his name...

I've got a boner.

And next season my season ticket goes up!

It will go up anyway, but we have had a price freeze for what? 5 years maybe? so im sure a hike is inevitable - im pretty sure a couple of extra mill for this guy wont be too much of an issue - its no worse than giving Falcao dead money for a season/ DiMaria for a season / Tom Celeverley forever

If I was to drop my pants after reading this, they would shatter all over the floor.

From that description I'm really unsure at how you arrived at the expectation that he'll be better than KDB and Ozil.

I'd love it, of course.

Zlatan/rashford
Martial rooney Mkhitaryan
Pogba Mata
Carrick

Too attacking?
Sound ok even if we park the bus.. just get it over at the general direction of any of the attacking 3 and we can out pace them at the wings and hold them at the center witj zlatan waiting for the midfielders to catch up.. either way looks neat.
