Horrified
But Yolkie promised me that we were getting Henderson and Benzema this summer?
Sunderland have agreed a fee with Liverpool for the transfer of Jordan Henderson.
Jordan Henderson will hold talks with Liverpool after the two clubs agreed a fee for the midfielder.
The 20-year-old, who played for England under-21s on Sunday, is set to discuss personal terms with the Anfield club.
A club spokesperson said: "A fee has been agreed with Liverpool for Jordan Henderson and he travels to Anfield today with the club's blessing.
13mil cash
+
N'Gog is worth around 0.5mil
=
13.5mil for a young player with some potential is not a bad deal for Liverpool at all.
If I were Sunderland, I would have gone for 17-18mil cash straight up, and left N'Gog the feck alone.
Spot on.
All of the opinion on here seemed to be that Liverpool are paying over the odds.
In comparison - Liverpool will be getting a highly rated English player with plenty of PL experience and an England Cap (and shipping out a player they're probably desperate to get of the wage bill) for £5 million more than United paid for a second division portuguese striker who has made a handfull of first team appearances.
Seems like a decent deal to me.

Yeah, but no-one has ever claimed the Bebe deal was a good one, and thus using it as a yardstick to measure other transfers by is just retarded.
Also, people have been saying Liverpool are paying over the odds when figures of £18-20m are floated around. If they have got him for £13m and N'Gog then that's clearly a much better deal
I would not be surprised if Sunderland put in a bid now for Welbeck
Remember, they do have our very own Campbell who should be fully recovered next season.
People here are so obsessed with Bebe that it's not even funny. Some real idiots around here. Why not compare Henderson's deal with Evra, Vidic, Hernandez?
Would it look a decent deal as compared to those?

Why?
You might not know whether any player will be any good until you buy him - but the money is spent regardless.
As stated above I made the point purely because a lot of people on here were very critical of Henderson as a player and suggested Liverpool were mad to part with decent money for him.
Also simply stating my opinion that I think they've done a very good deal in the circumstances.

If the rumours are to go by we could see a bid for Brown & Gibson coming our way. Would make sense for a Gibson bid from Sunderland now.
And for Brown. A fresh start might be best for the remaining years on his career given the fact he's 4th choice for the right back spot.
I've not seen any great talent in Henderson so didnt want us to sign him. For Liverpool though, he could be a decent signing.
Honestly I'm finding their recent spending a tad annoying. Was fun to see them languishing in the pitts but it seems they're now very willing to spend fairly large sums and on players who are improving them (Carroll, suarez, mereiles). So they're definitely moving in the right direction.
not too bad for Sunderland either. they valued him at 20 and have got close to that figure.According to Sky, it's 16.5Mil plus N'Gog which sounds about right tbh.
now the 24 million that City paid for Milner doesn't look all that bad.
actually Liverpool seem hell-bent on proving in their own way that they be big players in the transfer market by spending money more recklessly than City
Can't agree with this. While Henderson is overpriced, atleast he has some potential and is young enough to possibly grow.
Milner was just shit and four years older than henderson when he moved to city.
That's more than Spurs paid for ModricAccording to Sky, it's 16.5Mil plus N'Gog .... .
