Solid as tonight. This lads mentality from his last season with the armband, where he was literally booed by his own fans, to this. That’s Manchester United mentality he’s shown. I can see that he’ll be a big part of Amorim’s squad.

Absolutely bossed Haaland physically and seemed to revel in it too. Games like today, where our defensive line is naturally deeper suits him to a tee, he should probably be used regularly against tougher opponents like this but less so when we are dominating in the opponents half.
Not his biggest fan at all but I thought he was terrific today. Fair play Harry lad, fair play! Physically he absolutely bossed Haaland.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we exercised the one year extension option on him, and then reassess at that point. He’s been very solid and reliable.
When you see how he has been treated by the club, the fans and the press and compare it to Rashford and Garnacho you have to admire him. He has been brilliant during the worst part of his career. By brilliant I mean how he has handled all the off the pitch stuff that he has been through. I am not his biggest fan but I am delighted with his performance today. Fair play Harry, long may it last.
I would be very surprised if the club didn't, his attitude is spot on and as the middle CB in a 3 he can be pretty effective especially in games where we sit back a bit
He's getting more slack now because he's not captain and not an automatic pick because of that. It all works right now.

Which, funny enough, he didn't play for England. He was always on the left as i recall.

I have slaughtered Maguire over the years but he was very good tonight. He's one who could really benefit from us going to a back three.
He was good as was de ligt. I do think this system makes life easier as a centre back though and harder for the midfielders and forwards
Took a lot of abuse that could have broken a lesser man, can't imagine how other mentality midgets would react to the blows he has taken but he put his head down and recovered his career admirably. His performances over the last few years have earned him a deserved extension, which I am sure he will get.

Cannot fault his attitude. And it does seem the right mentality is a priority for Amorim, so maybe there’s a party to play for our Harry just yet.
He's been tried in a high line as a part of a pressing team time and again with no success to put it mildly. The fact that he has performed admirably in a low block, which is the only scenario that he's properly comfortable in, doesn't magically erase that and neither is that an untested hypothetical. When Maguire has to cover a lot of space in front of him, he doesn't really know what to do and often misjudges the situation (either not trusting himself enough and dropping deeper, allowing the attacker free space or trusting himself too much and flying in aggressively before getting outplayed), which is what lead to all that Maguire memes.
