Harry Kane MBE | Performances

Maybe they’ll sign Lukaku : )

Hypothetically I reckon he’d score a lot more goals for spurs than he has for us but he’d obviously be second choice. Morata looks to be on his way out of Chelsea and Rom can’t get into our team. What a crap summer for strikers that was....

Would you not rather United finish in the top four, at the cost of Kane not being available for England when we have the likes of Rashford to replace him? Seems like a fairly easy decision to me.

I couldn't give a feck about England mate.

It couldn't have come at a worse time for them, with Son going on international duty. It'll be a test of Pochettino's abilities.

Their fixtures aren't too daunting until Son comes back, tbh. But Kane missing the Chelsea and Arsenal games is a bit shit for them.
Or are they? Fulham away, Watford and Newcastle at home are games where you want your best attackers to make use of possession and chances. I could see them struggle to score against Newcastle, and Watford are able to raise their game.

Fulham are leaking goals, but without Kane, Son and Moura who knows. I'm guessing Eriksen will pepper crosses into Llorente and Alli which should make them somewhat easy to read. Just man-mark Eriksen and they've got nothing.

Not as if he's dead. I don't see anything wrong in fans getting excited about a rival's best player missing for two months.

This. As long his career and/or health is not in jeopardy then go nuts. He’s a multi-millionaire athlete who will be back in eight weeks - he’ll be fine.

Poch said it after the game it was a bad tackle and people seem to be saying it was Jones but, it wasn't a tackle, he rolled his ankle going for the ball. Wouldn't wish injury on anyone (well maybe 1 or 2) - def not Kane but, with them being just 7 ahead of us at the moment and Son also being out, they are going to end up in the mix for fighting for 4th. So even 3rd could be a possibility for us.

Out for 2months? Wow, now that is a huge blow!
And without Son for half that time they can't use him as a makeshift forward either.

Llorente? Massive massive downgrade

Spurs' fans must hate Jones even more than we do right now.

Hang on, he seemed fine enough to be having a running lunge at that cross in the 96th min, so it's amazing to find out he had such a bad injury before hand!

I've done ankle ligaments, and it tightens your whole joint, meaning even walking is hard.

He was lunging for that cross right at the end of the game, so surely was ok at that point?

Jones is a donkey but come on he was defending a 1-0 lead and made a tackle in dying seconds, sucks that Kane got injured but it's part and parcel of the game.

The race for top 4 has really been turned on it’s head in the last few weeks. We were absolutely dead and buried, 12 points off 5th place never mind 4th. Now we’re level with 5th place, Spurs have lost their main goalscorers and Chelsea and Arsenal play eachother next. It’s really unlucky for Spurs, but injuries happen. We just need to keep winning games and hope their lack of firepower sees us claw back that deficit. After 6 wins in a row? We’ll certainly believe we can do it now.

Should be back in time for the Liverpool game...

Unlucky. It really wasnt that bad a bad tackle.. didn't look dangerous either.
He seems to come back slowly from injury though. I think that explains his slow start to seasons as well.
He may be back from March but it could be April by the time he's close to where he is.

People honestly worried about England? We have teams to catch in front of us if we want to be in Europe next season!

This.
Will always be eternally grateful to the UK for giving me a passport but when in conflict with United, your national team(s) can do one.

Bad luck for Spurs. At the same time, it felt like he played too much football and didn't get enough rest in the summer.

Pochettino will be cursing Levy behind closed doors. He knows it will always be like this at Spurs. Lose your best player and have no one decent to step in.

Spurs have a very good first 11 but zero depth.

They’re in trouble. But will probably still have enough to deal with shite like Fulham and Newcastle.

Seriously? Is that all you care about?

England have important games in March too.
Good point - Spurs should definitely focus on getting him ready for those games as well as the Liverpool game, before letting him focus on being fully fit for the serious business of the Nation's League. It's for the greater good

Great news. Can see Spurs dropping a few points without him and Son.

Was it definitely Jones that did him in?

On the replay I saw I'm sure it was actually Lindelof who kicked him.

Anyway like I said in the other thread, Spurs fans should direct their hate at Mike Dean. If that prick doesn't add on an extra 90 seconds at the end of injury time Kane doesn't get hurt.

Yeah I think it was Lindelof too. All Jones does is poke the ball away if you study the clip. Looks like Kane plants his foot and then Lindelof swings a boot at it. Total accident and unlucky for Kane and Spurs.
I thought that it was neither of them and kane just twists his left ankle when he plants it on the pitch. At least that’s what i saw on the front angle.

Obviously good news from a United perspective but not for England nor him at all. I feel for players who have repetitive injuries that will hinder their careers.

Having seen one of my idols, Van Basten, basically retiring at 28 always sticks with me as a youngster and even in his latter years when he was still playing you can see he wasn't the same. Hope it doesn't go the same for Kane.
van Basten would have retired early with his injuries had he been playing now most likely. As for England, they play two matches in a piss-easy group where two teams automatically qualify. Qualification is a formality for them and they can just play Rashford instead. Those games are also in 2 months so he might be back by then.

Spurs' challenge for the EPL,however slim it was, is over!

Wonder how Poch will view his future now?

People get really weird over minor injuries to opposition players.

This is good news, and acknowledging that doesn't make you a bad person. It's not like his career is in danger, he's missing a few months.

- can't find another video but, this one a little after the 14:55 shows that it was Kane planting his foot and rolling his ankle that did the damage and it wasn't Jones and nowhere near a bad tackle that Poch claimed.

Aye. There's a difference between celebrating something like Shaw's injury & celebrating if KDB were to get a cough over the weekend.

Yup, there’s a huge difference between wishing someone gets injured, and being happy when they get injured.
