Harry Kane MBE | Performances

Aye but you have a team you play for. He's another Steven Gerrard basically. Ryan Giggs, OGS, Denis Irwin etc could all take good free kicks. You know what but, they knew Beckham was better so they let him take them.
I Can’t remember OGS ever taking a free kick ?

A forgetful fish from Finding Nemo and it's sequels/spin-offs. You've probably just forgotten.

Such a Dory.
Jesus.
Seen it. Havent seen the spin off. Or 2, how many are there?
We call that 'Modrić' here. Oh you forgot something, you did a Modrić.

What happened at the end of the match? In real time I thought it was a definite foul, but Dean bottled it because he was randomly adding 90 seconds.

Probably Phil Jones biggest positive contribution to our season, that.

If Lukaku would've missed so many chances today(imaginary situation) this forum would run riot on him.

But because Kane is English he only gets "He is such a player, could've had a few goals tonight".

Well the guy got into a few good positions tonight, all around game has been good, but he missed at least 2 sitters.

I'm not saying he is not class, but it's a bit annoying to see the judgement difference.

Hope Ed wanks Levy off and we snatch him.
It's probably because Kane is consistently good and Lukaku is consistently average. You tend to get the benefit of the doubt when you play well for most of the season. You've made quite the imaginary double standard here.

Next six or so league games are pretty easy for them anyway (though I think they did lose to Watford earlier in the season?) - if he's back for Chelsea in late February then he's back for the derby and the second Dortmund match; it could be worse for them, though the absence of Son hurts them as well.

Son and Kane out for Moura and Lamela is a big down grade. Might find it hard to get that width Son provides and the hold up play / goal a game Kane provides.

The top 4 race just got more interesting.

Think they’ll miss Son more than Kane.

They’ve coped without Kane before, but Sons movement can’t be replaced in that side. Not saying Son is a better player or anything but he must be an absolute dream to play with.

How selfish is this bloke. Free kick in a dangerous area and you have Eriksen on your team who is one of the best free kick takers. Prick just wants his name up in lights

Not selfish at all? Eriksen took the first freekick they got and missed, Kane took the next one.

Kane will be a big miss goal and talisman wise but i feel Son will be missed more on the playing side. He's been excellent for them, the last couple of month especially.
Need a good old Chelsea collapse now, 3rd is not impossible.

Just had a look at the fixtures he misses if he is out for a month and Spurs couldn't have picked a nicer set of fixtures. Fulham and Burnley away with Watford, Newcastle and Leicester at home. Kane always seems to miss a month or so of a season and they always cope well without him and I expect the same this time too.

That's exactly the type of teams they hate playing though as there's little space to operate.

That's perhaps a fair criticism of previous seasons however they've only dropped points in 2 games against teams outside the top 6 this season. 2 losses to Watford and Wolves (both games they were leading until late on), the rest of their dropped points have been defeats against the top 6 (us, City, Liverpool, Arsenal).

I think with that win Sunday and Kane/Son missing a few games we've dragged spurs into the top 4 race. Chasing 2 spots rather than just 4th now.

will be a blow to Spurs

Son and Kane have been vital for them- can see them drawing a few

Apart from Fulham all those teams can defend. They won't be easy.

I'm surprised at all of the derogatory comments in here. I can't stand Kane but the guy is a quality striker. His movement from set pieces was fantastic. He managed to lose Jones time and time again in a crowded area.

He's not quick but he's got the physique to play with his back to goal and intelligence to link up the play from deeper. Of course, he's a lethal finisher. He's a really complete striker. Smalling normally does a great job on him because he dominates him physically but without Smalling he was a constant threat.

He'll be a huge loss to Spurs.

Yeah, let's hope they drop a few more points before these two return. If all goes well, we might even catch up with them by Feb end.

This. Loads to play for over the next 16 games, 6 points behind Chelsea, 7 points behind Spurs, we were 12 at one point and ready to give up on the top 4, look at where we are after just 5 league games.

Rough. Probably misses games vs Chelsea and Arsenal as well one or maybe both games vs Dortmund.

That has to be minimum 2 months before he is playing again and I'm sure last time they rushed him back but he was well off the pace for a while after it. We can definitely catch Spurs if we keep our form up.
