Harry Kane MBE | Performances

Commendable loyalty but he’s the best striker in the world and should be winning trophies every season. Wonder how many years he’s going to stick around at Spurs for. Robin Van Judas was off the moment he could stay fit and score goals yet Kane doesn’t look like going anywhere despite tearing up the league for 5 seasons now.

Is he a better player than Bale? has he won more trophies than Bale? Kane's 3 penalties and 1 flick off his heel in the World Cup (IMHO) isn't golden boot material.

Hard to say, im sure RM would take Kane given the chance. What team in Europe wouldnt? As for Bale vs Kane I think most would pick Kane. Younger, no where near as injury prone, been a 20+ goal scorer for 4 or 5 seasons.

If Kane continues on and goes close or breaks Shearers record he will be remembered as one of the all time greats. And one of the best strikers to play the game, and rightfully so.

Bale will be remembered as an explosive exciting player with an injury hit career. Capable of moments of stunning solo brilliance.

Thank you for breaking it down for me and once again, still doesn't mean that "average" performance by England or Kane in WC deserves an MBE or be seen as a Success IMO. 1 or 2 "average" games against decent teams should not = MBE for any player or team.

Nothing against Kane or any player but just think Standards should be set alot higher than that. It seems more of a Participation award rather than something for achieving greatness, had England won the WC I would have no problem with this but IMO its embarrassing to give these type of awards for mediocrity specially in a country where football has so much money but beating decent teams is seen as great success.

Players like Tom Boyd, Barry Ferguson, Steve Bull, Gary Mabbutt and Alan Knight have MBEs for services to football. It’s never been about “greatness”.

You’re underselling Bale here. He is a true great of British football. He’s won four Champions Leagues, scored in two finals and taken a mediocre footballing nation to the semis of the Euros. Already Wales’ all-time top scorer and could go on to be their most capped player.

If it wasn’t for his injury proneness during what should have been his peak years, he’d be in the conversation for the best British player to ever play the game.

And thats just it isnt it, you can't say injuries have ruined his career. But he has spent a lot of his peak years injured or returning from injury trying to get back to his best.

Yes he has won trophies with RM, and when in form and fit is one of the most exciting players on the planet. But just how often is that?

Also following on from CR7 was going to be a tall order for any player. Out of the players available Neymar, Hazard, Bale, he is definitely up there.

I guess really only at the end of their respective careers can they be judged. Would you have taken Bale at 25 or Kane now at 25? Tough call.

No striker scores in every single game, today is irrelevant in terms of judging his quality (as if it should ever be in question any more).

Fantastic forward. Neatest thing I have seen to Sherear in the Premier league. Has everything you want from a forward leading the line.

Finishing aside it was a stunning performance - Just had his way with our CB's. He's great at holding the ball without taking the pace out of the attack - Looks for the right pass every time. The contrast between Lukaku when he came on was quite comical.

If he's injured for a long time Spurs could well collapse. Especially as Son is probably their best alternative.

So glad this nose (i mean mouth:rolleyes:) breather didn't score against us.

What more can you ask from a CF? Scores a lot in all kinds of ways, impressive allround play & physicality, even does free kicks.

Phil Jones apparently fecked his ankle, it's swollen up according to Poch.

Not really the time to be gushing about him. It was the players getting the ball to him that made things look dangerous today.

Anyone know the seriousness of Kane's injury?

Obviously, with Son away on International duty for the next month, the last thing Spurs need is a long-term injury to Kane.

The club values him around 200 mil.Insane.Sell lukaku and bring him.Rashford isnot gonna reach his potential till 25..26. Having two of England best stikers isnot a bad idea. But there is sth he lacks from being the perfect strker..not sure what.

If Kane is injured and Son gone I wonder are Spurs catchable as well. I know I'm getting caught in the wave of excitement but could make it tighter than we thought

Is he injured, or was it just a tight legged hard luck story limp off?

I reckon the latter.
