Gun control

Our district told us that we weren’t participating in the walk out. We did alternative indoor memorial services instead.

Some students walked out anyway across the district, about 1000 in total out of around 75,000.

And here's how low the NRA sunk - on the day the kids are all marching, they decided to tweet the weapon used in MSD shooting one month ago.

Thanks for posting the clips, Eboue. Much appreciated.

I wrote an essay about that in the style of Swift's A Modest Proposal back in 2001. It's crazy that we are almost at that point now.

Here....

It's just like a nightmare that keeps getting worse and worse but half (or a third, whatever) of the people are so angry and hate the opposition so much that they simply do not care or believe it. They are defending the indefensible so aggressively because they wrongly believe they are being listened to due to being overlooked and forgotten for so long, and many feeling like they have lost control as they can't adapt to or accept change and they think this one person listens to them, gets them and actually cares.

Their desperation coupled with brainwashing, ignorance, fear, poor education and hatred for many simply leads them blindly to accept everything and anything in the pure hope that this messiah will actually deliver his promises to them personally and their lives won't be so shitty anymore and everything will go back to when they felt safe and understood things.

Meanwhile the rest of us sit in pure bewilderment and fear that people can be so blind, ignorant, desperate, selfish or so Damn stupid to not see it how it really is.

Fml! That should be my tagline I think. Damn this is all so depressing and scary. I'm off to bed.

Shit is fecked up.

That is a little misleading when you read the story. Its just more funding to support the existing laws and background checks. Owners of machine guns and silencers are usually true gun enthusiasts and responsible owners. Its literally taking a year to process transfer papers and silencer requests. Sure the funding could be used elsewhere but that is a completely different issue.

The correlation between gun prevalence and and gun deaths is undeniable. You would think there was some "human rights" (for the lack of a better phrase) case that could be brought against the country to challenge what's happening. This is state endorsed genocide. Surely you could argue current gun laws family to protect private citizens.

... and again.

Teenage girl shot dead by her 9-year-old brother in Mississippi http://jrnl.ie/3912603

Something, something, more guns.

If only the teenage girl had a gun of her own, this wouldn’t have happened & the video game controller would’ve been hers!

I know I shouldn’t joke about something so horrific but the whole situation over there is nuts.

Yet another video-game related death. When will America learn?

Simply tragic, the sad thing is these are just becoming "another story". A family ruined and a boy who will never be the same again. I don't get how some people can be so blind and ignorant to the problem.

Don't think the video game had much to do with it though.

Students will be armed with rocks in case of school shooting, superintendent says

Damn! Today is the day that the gun loving nutters actually found out that they are definitely in the minority!

This is huge and it's already surpassed expectations. Some of the numbers being reported are insane. I just hope politicians sit up and take notice, if not it will cost them for sure.
