Lot of tactical voting and a lot of people looking at the odds to decide if they can safely lodge a vote for the party they want to win, or if they have to stick just to stopping the Tories.

Make voting compulsory. If you have a genuine desire not to vote then cop the small fine or better yet turn up and spoil your ballot. We have it here and typically get turnout north of 92% with the majority of the 7/8% being unable to vote as they are overseas or sick (or dead) or whatever.
It is important that the wrong Lizard doesn't get in.
