If you read the whole thing it's not particularly noteworthy, just a bit of wumming from the Tele

I read that yesterday and was going to post it but couldn't be arsed.

I think the context makes it worse, because he seems to be aware that he's about to score an own goal, and then precedes to do it anyway.

He was asked directly about the euroscepticism of the old Liberal heartlands of the south-west and how it seemed to have died out in the current party. Does point to them having a similar diversion of views to Labour on it amongst their former support, though.

I don't think it's necessarily a terrible point to make, but you have to be smarter than using a soundbite like 'I'm a bit of a Eurosceptic'.

Yeah that's fair enough.

Just actually watched it- the missus wanted to see it. In the flow of the convo it really doesn't seem like anywhere near as big a deal as some are making out.

These cnuts will find an excuse for anything she says or does.

Every time people try to make the case that May is super smart or playing some kind of complicated long game I like to remind them that this is a woman who believed a man could not be deported because of his pet cat.

Agree with Corbyn, but it doesn't detract from the fact that she's a fecking liability. Labour have too many of them.

Like this you mean?

I mean, even if you think its cool to hang around with supporters of Assad and the Communist Party, don't do it during a general election campaign.

Look at that ffs! Corbynistas can blame the meida and "blairites" all they want. The people leading the party a fecking amateurs.

John McDonnell never comes across well, always strikes me as a bit of a twat.

First car crash interview of the campaign.

She's always been a bumbling idiot, wish Corbyn would rid of her but won't happen.

If you don't know them just do what the tories do and give a vague or unrelated answer.

You see, I can't say I like the way the way the Tories are going about the campaign, but when you see the alternative, there really isn't an alternative. I get that they are, on the most part, clueless, but the alternatives have got even less of a clue than that.

Labour are doing their usual thing of bribing people with things that they have no idea how much they will cost or how they will pay for it. Yet nearly half of posters on here would be happy to see Corbyn run the country. I can accept that your political views may not allow you to support the Tories, but you can't seriously believe that Labour will make a better fist of government.

I really think we should have an extra category in the poll, such as 'They are all shite', which I think would win the poll by a substantial margin.

My political ideology is actually quite aligned to the Lib Dems but they are in shambles.

Not quite sure how to read the organisation of Labour considering the obvious media bias especially aimed at Corbyn.

There's nothing the Tories could do to make me vote for Theresa May.

As things stand i'm voting Labour.

Maybe - but I'm already quite happy with Sturgeon running mine.

Labour are incompetent but their heart is in the right place. The Tories are also bumbling, but in addition completely backwards in their school of though, not a tough choice imo for those down south.

fecking hell that Abbott interview is excruciating.

they were also flying flags with the head of stalin.

Anyone who tries to excuse this is a lost-cause himself. Think about a conservative politician attending a rally of Neonazis with swastika flags/flags with Hitler's head. It is completely out of question. I just shows such a stunning lack of decency and basic historical knowledge. There is nothing about "the heart is at the right place", when you honour one of the worst mass murderers in history. It is pretty much prove that you an dangerous ideologue, who fancies a totalitarian ideology.
Corbyn going along with this is mind-boggling. Either he is too stupid to understand the message behind this or he has sympathy for this (it is probably both).

Or that you are a clueless idiot. Reading this thread really makes me wonder what problem parties have in recruiting somewhat competent personell.

My comment was based off their announced policies and election theme, which so far I think are reasonable and would help in some way the growing inequality in the UK. It wasn't made in relation to this political gaffe (which is what it is, because there is no way he would do that if he knew there were Stalin depictions etc.).

There is a line where this can't be an excuse any-more. There are pretty much two people in history (Hitler and Stalin; so I set the bar very low) where any educated European has to know that they are no good. It is not an accidental slip or some fringe person running around behind him with these flags. He is consciously attending this rally and is willing to speak to them. Whats even worse: they like his speech.
Corbyn is a bumbling idiot, who might not know details about the dictatorships in Cuba, Venezuela or Syria. That is disqualifying itself, but I am still willing to entertain the idea that he just doesn't get it. In fact I am fairly convinced that this is true. McDonnell is a different character. He is the left-wing UK version of Bannon.

There's also Abbott discussing that car crash interview on the BBC. It only gets worse.

I've supported a lot of Corbyn's decisions, notable exceptions being the lack of opposition to Brexit and the Snooper's Charter. This has reminded me though that he fecked up very early on by appointing her to a position of any seniority whatsoever. She is without doubt the most imbecilic politician I've ever seen.

This isn't far off, actually.

Next I tell ya they will be after our precious bodily fluids.

Pedro you don't half speak some shite at times.

Just consider Jeremy Corbyn having to make huge decisions on our behalf or having to represent the UK on the global stage. If he has to take us to war or lead us through another recession.

Theresa May isn't the most palatable but we will still have a country left at the end of it. Voting for the current Labour party is a complete roll of the dice.

The Torries aren't actually more competant though are they? After being appointed Education Secretary Justine Greening had literrally no policies or thoughts on school and education when interviewed by Marr. Borris using Hitler references and looking uncomfortable when asked about whether the EU funding money would go into the NHS. May coming woefully unprepared to discussions with Junker and having no apparent plan to deliver a trade deal and ofcourse wrongly stating the following:

"We all know the stories about the Human Rights Act... about the illegal immigrant who cannot be deported because, and I am not making this up, he had a pet cat."

Ultimately the expert work is done by the civil service, not the politicians.

What? May is awful, she demands absolutely no respect from foreign politicians. She can't even handle some journalists asking her questions. There's a decent chance Corbyn might be shite too but from what I've seen he can actually hold a conversation without resorting to mindless catchphrases.

There is something very creepy and weird about the Tory campaign

Apparently their reporters were also locked in a room!

They are minimizing risk of May's ineptness, which is the only way they could lose the election.
