They're just JobCentrePlus Offices now - you can't even chase the ££££ side of things up from them anymore most / sometimes - if your just turning up with a query on a non job interview day, security are known to turn people away, the offices have targets for imposing sanctions on people apparently. Apart from that, it's really good idea.

There used to be things called crisis loans which were repayable from benefit but they were done away with to streamline the system or something. It's all online & by phone now, a lot of the actual claiming process - streamlining again.

Some good ideas, except it isn't either/and obviously, now people can't even pursue an idea of the progress of a claim without inconvenience & cost probably.

But these are just people at the bottom, who gives a feck? And when that attitude spreads, who gives a feck about that either, just people at the bottom, innit.
Scrap Job Seekers Allowance...

Sounds more and more like a massive Tory win. According to canvassers no Labour seat is really safe. Scary.

Who's staying up on the night? I usually do, but if the Tories get a good exit poll I'll be off to bed.

I tend to stay up for them, if it transpires it's a huge Tory Majority then I may head to bed. But probably won't.

I'll do the exit polls, see who "wins" between Sunderland and Newcastle and then decide after that

I pretty much always stay up for both UK and US elections. Can't see this one being any different, unless its a massive Tory blowout in which case I might just start drinking myself to death.

I'm not sure this place can be as depressing as it was after the Brexit result, so at least that's one positive. That was just awful.

Didn't book work off as per usual as didn't see the point, i'll be pushing it as long as an upset is on the cards. Probably not long then

That latest Diane Abbot interview is a proper sad state of affairs - it's not even as if he's trying particularly hard to stitch her up. I think he tries to give her every chance. Gone straight on to the headlines on the Mail website anyway.

She's since cancelled doing Woman's Hour (today I think) - not totally sure of the info on that.

That was a rollercoaster night, I remember everyone linking to betfair every five minutes saying "It's alright guys don't worry we are still odds-on to remain". Some smart people probably made a lot of money that night.

Hated that night. As soon as Sunderland and Newcastle came in, it was just like ice started trickling into my veins. Never want to experience another political shock like that.

Yeah, at least this time we expect there to be a shit result. No false hope.

This can't be true.

Was this the tweet that claimed they were modelling something daft like 80 or 90% under 30 turnout?

Yeah, that was crap being made up, which is why its been deleted.

The polls vary from within error range level to +14 for the tories at the minute, which is insane. No turnout demographic model should be able to change things that much surely?

I think the only thing I take from polls right now is that across all labour have improved by 20 points since the start, that is, just the scores for each individual poll company that removes the different ways they weight things by just comparing them to their starting points.

That is the biggest peacetime electoral swing the country has ever seen.

I don't think its enough to win, but it is enough to finish may, it will be boris in charge by july. I suspect we will be having another election inside 24 months if that happens.

Just another chapter in her rubbish campaign. Idiots will dismiss it by saying she's right to not to undermine the special relationship, all whilst ignoring that they're entrusting such a weak individual with getting "the best possible deal."

She'll be running through the fields of wheat again when the EU has finished massacring her in the negotiations.

Two figures Boris couldn't remember on Good Morning Britain. I look forward to that being headline news on the Six O'Clock BBC News this evening. Not to mention his car crash on Radio 4, where he condemned Corbyn for voting against "anti-terror" legislation having done so himself and lied on his views on 'shoot to kill'. Oh and he also refused to criticise Trump, but luckily he isn't in a role such as Foreign Secretary or it would be a real eyebrow raiser.

I'm going to this;

Should be a larf.

They should put Dianne Abbott out of her misery.
It's sad at this point. It's like mocking the homeless.
She's so far out of her depth. I've heard she's a great mp but this front bench lark isn't for her.

I don't know any Labour supporter who from the start didn't want her given a less important role.

Its a shame as she gives the impression the Labour bench is as idiotic as the Tories. The Tories have several idiots but it doesnt matter if you have one of your own

"Gosh, well, nobody is ever perfectly behaved are they? I supposed it would have to be the time I snorted an absolutely ridiculous line of ketamine off an African gentleman's erection while my husband was asleep in the next room".

Why are we suddenly pretending the bar to be on the front bench is somehow sky high? Boris got sacked by the Times after making up a quote, "relieved of his duties” as shadow arts minister for lying about an affair, referred to Africa’s “watermelon smiles” and “flag-waving piccanninies”, accused President Obama of being anti-British because of the country’s colonial history and that 'blacks' had low IQs. All that and dozen 'joke' gaffes still apparently deemed him worthy of the small role of Foreign Secretary and, without Gove stabbing him in the back after Brexit, almost certainly Prime Minister.

Im sure Kuessenberg will be on it any minute now. She's impartial afterall

The reduction in police numbers begs a few questions. The country had not suddenly become crime free so who took over some the work of the police - private security firms ? Are or were any ministers or MPs non-executive directors in any of those firms ? Why do some politicians insist that things (education, NHS etc ) can be cheaper and just as good or even better and that the market will take care of almost everything without state intervention or control ?

That's an indictment of this country and the Tories.
It still does not mean Labour have to stick Abbott on the front benches.

"I'm very clear about being very clear."

So they've sent out Boris Johnson to do the dirty work of throwing around absurd Daily Mail attack lines

I mean he actually insinuated that we need to be concerned about communism
