Gary Neville

I do wish Gary would try to attain a shred of credibility in his pontificating, but that would firstly require a shred of morality.

Has been a director of SIXTY (60) Companies all in all and we all know what that's about.

Whats that about?

And the point of this?

On this page I've seen one person claiming that Neville's support for Poch has been concocted to allow him to criticise the appointment of Ten Haag and another claiming that ex-players actively want United to be shit to further their own media careers.

It must be exhausting going out of your way to assume the worst of people all the time. Everyone's opinions take into account their biases and blindspots and that includes ex-players. There's a certain arrogance to the belief that your opinion about who should be the next United manager is so self-evidently right that anyone who disagrees must be doing so as part of a shadowy conspiracy.

I might been the last part was thinking more how I would imagine if Hag etc came in, if the team wasn't performing, instead of slating the same players who have failed at maybe 4 managers now, he prob spin it as board messed up not appointing Poch or some shite, like he a cert to get a tune out of Maguire. Either way squad needs gutted over 3 years for the new manager.

He defo not honest at times about the players, doesn't mind getting stuck into Rangnick.

Sorry, is he not allowed to have companies or try to make money?

Totally daft point you trying to make here.

When it comes true you can owe me an apology sure.

Aye fair enough, let's check back next season. In fairness, I think he's wrong and Ten Haag is the better option, I'm just more inclined to think his preference for Pochettino is rooted in his 'experience in the Premier League' bias/blindspot than any sort of calculated gamesmanship.

He’s covering all his bases, the same way he did with Ole about the “I would never criticise a friend” nonsense.

The hate for Neville is hilarious.
It's so weird. I had to unfollow him on twitter because his opinions on the managerial situation at United are strange. But people are obsessed with having a pop at him on here.

Its what happens when you use social media to broadcast your opinions, if the players are fair targets for Nevilles ire due to their use of Social media to further their agenda (PR/ Marketing etc) then why can't Neville be fair game for the public's ire when he furthers his agenda?

Why does the old man get to shout at the cloud but nobody else does?

You can disagree with Neville's opinions/actions, much like Neville is disagreeing with the players actions. Nothing wrong with that at all.

It's when people call him a wanker or just throw hate his way (usually for having an opinion that is different to theirs) thats weird

But why does it resort to Neville is Pr*ck and other unwarranted name callings, it's completely unnecessary. Bit embarrassing from United fans.

Ok but hasnt he put enough stuff out about players/ the club etc over the past 10 years or so that he could have rubbed people the wrong way , refusal to Criticize Ole and his praising of the "Cultural Reboot" etc, that he may have come across as a bit of a wanker?

Like Liverpool fans will call Whelan or Souness a wanker for holding certain opinions over a couple of decades.

He's been Skys Manchester United mouthpiece for a decade of Failure.

Apart from some petty name calling, criticism of his hypocrisy and people saying that he chats bollox (like the majority of pundits on every TV/Podcast and Radio show) I don't really think he gets "Hate" at all.

In fact I think his opinion is far more valued than it should be.

Hes the king of hindsight and the pauper of foresight.

For the record I don’t hate Gary, that was just a tongue in cheek joke because he choose Pochettino and anyone knows me will understand. I think it’s good we at least have an ex United player as one of the best pundits on Sky, but to be honest I don’t even regularly listen to punditry after a match as I know myself what happened be it Keane, Neville or Carragher, whoever.

I don't think it's that shocking that someone could think that Neville ( Or Carragher or Souness or Keane or *insert pundits name here*) sometimes comes off as a bit of a prick.

Didn't Fergie basically call him an idiot for criticism of DeGea?

I wouldn't go as far as to name call but I don't have a huge amount of time for his analysis.

I get what you're saying but you just have to take it for what it is.

He's one of those people that's just got an opinion on everything. It is a bit tiresome but I don't think it warrants the hate he gets on here.

He just made the choice easier. If these ex players like Neville want Poch than we should stay as far away as possible from him.
Bring in ETH and professionals people along with him. Stop being cronies united once and for all.

Pretty much this.

There's always room for disagreement with a pundit and still hold the pundit in high regard, but Neville's coddling of Ole severely undermined his credibility.

He's far from a United mouthpiece. Weird thing to claim if you listened to him over the last 10 years

Skys Manchester United mouthpiece

Not the clubs mouthpiece, sky's Manchester United spokesperson.

I don't think that's a weird claim at all.

I could probably find 50 links of Neville speaking about Manchester United in the past year on sky television, never mind the last decade

Whenever they have something to ask about United he is the one that speaks.

He is the authority on all things Manchester United in the sky studio (apart from the occasions that Keane is there).

Carragher (apart from the occasions when Souness is there) does the same thing for Liverpool, it's not that bizarre a statement.

Hes not a Manchester United spokesperson. He has as much of a say on our club as anyone else has.

He is a dimwit at times though. The cultural reboot bollocks was irrecoverable. He said he likes the squad Ole built as early as season one. Based on feck all too.

I didn't say he is a Manchester United spokesperson or that he has any say at the club.

I said he is Sky Sports (The Sports Channels) spokesperson on all things United.

Once again I never claimed he was a spokesman for your club.

He is the go to person for Sky Sports when they report on all things United

I don't think that's even debatable to be honest.

Hes not though. As I said he talks as much about United as anyone else when hes on the show.

I kind of get the argument for a new stadium but I've got not confidence that it would be anything other than really shite and within a year we would all want Old Trafford back.

Although stadium sponsor can feck off.

It's the way these things are going though and I know it wasn't you but, I'm not sure how saying that makes him a cnut.

I don't really care how things are going. It's a scourge. Does it make him a cnut for suggesting it? If he's suggesting giving away naming rights he's sailing close to the wind anyway.

Bold Trafford?

Old 'Spice' Trafford?

Old El Traffordo

Yeah I'm not liking any of them either.

I can't see how we can afford a new stadium without a sponsor under the current ownership. Our net debt is >£500m.
