I agreed with Neville on the possible sending off, stupid from Martinez and could have had no complaints had he been sent off.
Genuinely awful commentary today, I'm usually impartial to Neville but he was so negative about any aspect of United. Like another poster mentioned it's like the ex United players are stuck looking through the lens of the United teams they used to play in, and anything outside of that just isn't good enough when reality is 15-20 years ahead of them.
Also hearing Neville half way through the match bang on about how we had no structure or patterns of play, how our press is disorganized and our team is the easiest to play through in the entire PL for the 100th time is just quite frankly boring.
All these ex-Utd pundits' schtick is to just endlessly point out negatives to massage their own egos about how good they used to be.
It seems like it, along with most of the match day thread.... bafflingI was surprised at that too. It was incredibly bizarre to bring that stuff up today when we are under an inexperienced interim manager.
Was he really expecting an organised press and well drilled patterns of play under Ruud, when we've not seen that over the past two seasons?
What did he say?Stam was right about this guy.
I believe the words "busy cnuts" were used in his autobiography to describe the Neville brothers. He did admit years later that it was not meant to be as abusive as it may have come across. What did he say?
Cheers.I believe the words "busy cnuts" were used in his autobiography to describe the Neville brothers. He did admit years later that it was not meant to be as abusive as it may have come across.
Had to look it up myself tbh cause I forgot about it.Cheers.
I think bbc must have caught it wrong because that isn’t what he said.
Yeh, I kinda agreed that was borderline red, and wouldn't surprise if he were off.I agreed with Neville on the possible sending off, stupid from Martinez and could have had no complaints had he been sent off.
Same as what happened with Bruno against Spurs, that day the ref and VAR wrongly gave a red card and it was downgraded to a yellow card days later. Gary Neville must have short term memory loss.Utterly ridiculous, nothing in that Martinez tackle he slips and there’s no force in it. It’s never a red card. Yet to Garry it’s definite red

Wasn't it very similar to Bruno's one which was overturned?
Media are out of control with their coverage of United. Repeated “horror tackle” references ad nauseum. I’ll be surprised if Palmer isn’t playing Chelsea’s next game as a result of this. Besides, it wasn’t remotely horrific. Where were they when Andy Carrol was on a one man mission to repeatedly injure United players with his efforts on De Gea, Eriksen and Casemiro? They were horrific attempts, intended purely intended to injure players, yet not a whisper in the media nor any action from officials. He would’ve been arrested for assault had he been caught on the street in public .Utterly ridiculous, nothing in that Martinez tackle he slips and there’s no force in it. It’s never a red card. Aside from what he says, his voice is terrible for commentary and adding that extra gravity to big moments in games, they’ve never replaced Andy Gray on that frontHe's good at analysis on MNF and such, but a godawful commentator - especially when covering United games. I'm not listening to him when he's on our games again.
It does make me chuckle reading this regularly on here about Neville considering the absolute bile that we, the premier United supporters forum, spew daily about the team and everyone connected to it.Not sure why Neville is the opposite, like he just hates the team.
Why wouldn't that annoy people? Especially when his "brand" is exploiting the drama around United. Are we supposed to be like; "Clever lad, Gary. Well done."?Still don't get why he pisses so many off. He has a brand and is working it.
Why even bother with him, you know what you are going to get. Mute the fecker. Why wouldn't that annoy people? Especially when his "brand" is exploiting the drama around United. Are we supposed to be like; "Clever lad, Gary. Well done."?

Because it's a hard enough chore watching united without him every game going on about how shit we are, in this game one that was actually quite even that we probably should have won. That and making a big deal about nothing incidents and creating talking points as if we were fortunate to get away without penalties/red cards etcStill don't get why he pisses so many off. He has a brand and is working it.
