AgreedDon’t understand the hate. Only a clueless idiot would deny he bleeds man united red. The narrative he wants us to fail is ludicrous

It’s more the way he tries to hard to be neutral when Carra is there not giving a feck.Don’t understand the hate. Only a clueless idiot would deny he bleeds man united red. The narrative he wants us to fail is ludicrous
I bet RAWK says the oppositeIt’s more the way he tries to hard to be neutral when Carra is there not giving a feck.
Why on earth was he fined for that?
He was goading the opposition fans, wasn't he? They'd be concerned it could spark crowd trouble.

Agreed
The abuse he gets is sillyIt’s such a RAWK spirited thread this, don’t get it.
Yeah it's really odd that he talks so much about the owners of the club he supports, that play in the league that he is employed to talk about and are shown live on the channel he works on almost every week; as opposed to talking about the owner of a football club in Spain that are occasionally shown on, checks notes, "Premier Sports" in the UK.Agreed on his commitment to Utd. Good host of Overlap.
He is, however, a total hypocrite when it comes to owners. Happy to call out Glazers at every opportunity (fair enough) but never does it when it comes to his ‘partner’ Peter Lim who has mismanaged Valencia so badly on and off the pitch that they seemingly have a half finished stadium.

Oh you're actually going to double down on it. Manchester United conversation is incredibly relevant to Sky Sports in the UK. Valencia conversation is not in the slightest bit relevant to Sky Sports in the UK.Fair enough to call out the Glazers but maybe understand you might be a hypocrite again (Hislop et al had his number on HIGNY about the Qatar World Cup) as your own club in Salford is bankrolled by Peter Lim who has been as bad if not a worse owner at Valencia than the Glazers have at Utd. Some people might call it self awareness.

If you must insist on comparing the two, Lim took over a club who were heavily in debt and essentially kept the lights on at the time but hasn't really improved anything in ten years. The Glazers took over a debt free football club, immediately pushed their own debt onto the football club where it still sits nearly 20 years later and have cost the football club circa £2bn across their ownership. I'd say the spotlight is on the right one really
I am fully aware but equally don't give a toss about what hatred there is for him in the context of this conversation, as I said he hasn't improved things at all but took over during a time of genuine peril and kept the lights on. That alone makes him a significantly better owner than those who take over a successful business, front load it with debt and then cost that business an amount that would put most similar businesses out of business just for the pleasure of being owned by them.I think you might be underestimating the depth of hatred there is for Lim in Valencia. Walk out by fans during Girona match earlier this year etc. He was offered multiple times what he paid for the club some years back but turned it down and treats fans with utter contempt.
Maybe I put more weight on what Mario Kempes (club legend, world cup top scorer and winner, south American player of the year) who has called for Lim to leave asap. Kempes was on another level to Gary as a footballer.
Lim funds Salford where Gary et all are actively involved. It is as relevant as highlighting Gary’s hypocrisy about giving manager’s time at Utd when he was hire and fire at Salford.
Loved him as a player (bar the 5-5 at Hawthorns where he spoilt a great day out). As previously stated he is a great host of the overlap (very self depreciating) but he can be a total hypocrite. Hislop and Merton showed him to be lacking in self awareness when it came to putting his monetary interest first versus calling out the Qataris.
Fair cop on year it was two years earlier at the Hawthorns and Dorrans was running rings round him.I am fully aware but equally don't give a toss about what hatred there is for him in the context of this conversation, as I said he hasn't improved things at all but took over during a time of genuine peril and kept the lights on. That alone makes him a significantly better owner than those who take over a successful business, front load it with debt and then cost that business an amount that would put most similar businesses out of business just for the pleasure of being owned by them.
I'm not really sure what is difficult to understand about Manchester United being relevant content for Sky Sports and Valencia not being relevant content to Sky Sports but there you go.
Couple of other fact checks; Lim did part fund Salford (as did the other owners) but is no longer involved with the club and I'm not sure how Neville spoilt Ferguson's last game when he'd retired over two years earlier.
Isn't that like the vast majority of pundits? I don't remember ever hearing a pundit end their analysis with "but it's just my opinion and I might be wrong".I do like Gary. His heart is in the right place. His punditry is fine and he’s created a great Overlap channel. My only slight irritation is that when anything is being discussed and opinions being shared…he tries to convince everyone his opinion is the right one. Apparently can’t always accept that others have different opinions on things.
Used to think he spoke quite well on some current affairs. Showing himself up for what he really is here. Load of whataboutery waffle.
It's mainly this, across the board. Dim with a lack of self awareness. Not a bad guy, but not half as intelligent as he thinks he is.He's just a bit dim, I think.
He’s not a United fan. He doesn’t represent us in any way, shape or form. A Sky mercenary who only cares about his own ‘brand’.

That's not being United through and through. You are wrong about that. Hated him as a player. Why? He’s united through and through. Always will be.
What relevance does that have to anything? He hasn’t been a player for 13 years. You are wrong about that. Hated him as a player. Why? He’s united through and through. Always will be.
Do you really think he doesn’t bleed united? He might be a terrible pundit who says things just to not look bias but he is a manc. Just look at him. Just look at his face during his playing years. It hasn’t changed. I respect him for that. What relevance does that have to anything? He hasn’t been a player for 13 years.
Can confirm that his face hasn't changed.Do you really think he doesn’t bleed united? He might be a terrible pundit who says things just to not look bias but he is a manc. Just look at him. Just look at his face during his playing years. It hasn’t changed. I respect him for that.
What a weird take from Neville. He’s not a United fan. He doesn’t represent us in any way, shape or form. A Sky mercenary who only cares about his own ‘brand’.
