Gary Neville - Pundit

Neville has a annoying tendency of tarring people with the same brush.
His criticism of Garnacho's workrate, in comparison with Rashford, is pretty silly. Garnacho has many elements of his game in which he needs to improve upon but I wouldn't question his effort.

It’s annoying how Neville has all of these little agendas. Like Bruno at Anfield a few years ago lying about him, etc.

I like the guy, but just give some of the lads a break?

Its a odd one. I mean he's also been quite dismissive of the players we've brought in the summer who, minor Zirkzee, have all shown good form and are clearly developing well.
Ugarte has been a revelation in recent weeks yet Neville seems, again, dismissive of his form.

His biggest issue on commentary is once he’s found his talking point or narrative for the game, he aggressively sticks to it and oversells its importance in the context of the game. He gets tunnel vision with that idea and will flat out refuse to see anything else.

He kept banging on about how only Amad deserved the result and it being such a terrible performance. He kept saying this even during the period where we pretty much bossed possession and had the Etihad crowd frustrated.

Was also weird him talking about the forward passes and taking risks as if 1) we weren’t playing City away and 2) we haven’t just failed spectacularly with Ten Hag risky and open football.

He does it all the time. 15 minutes into a game he’ll say “this game will be determined by the fullbacks of each side” and will just stick with this even if it’s the midfield or attack that has determined the game.

He’s an awful commentator. He’s an alright pundit but his need for being centre of attention does make him pretty annoying.

You've never thought something live and changed your mind on a replay? Irrelevant anyway,.Just using it as a recent example of criticism for a dive
It's not a one off occurrence though. Neville's go-to is to always think the worst when it comes to us. It comes from a good place I'm sure, but it's irritating as feck. Especially when he only sees the good where our rivals are concerned.

Is it possible to set up a petition to stop Sky having him commentating on United games?

I’m being deadly serious.

As bad as we’ve been. It should be two apiece two amazing chances not taken.

I honestly think he is enjoying how much we are struggling.
I hate the bellend.
He is paid to do that. Also, I'll never forget that magic night against Barcelona with mighty Valencia.

He was literally laughing at us towards the end, he’s an absolute pathetic little creature. Anyone who doesn’t think he is absolutely loving the state the club is in now is an idiot.

He was laughing on a number of occasions during the game not just towards the end. Sky need to get him off United games that's covered.

It's like he enjoys it

If carragher was laughing at the end we'd expect it, but Neville?

I think he enjoys it because it reminds everyone how good the United team he played in was. It’s like watching your ex struggling and being glad to see them not doing well without you.

I’ve always had my suspicions that he was enjoying United’s downfall, but tonight has confirmed it. It was like listening to a goofy Liverpool fan commentating on that game. He is an absolute disgrace and he has totally tarnished his legacy with this club.

Even when we beat City you could tell he wasn’t happy about it, he was speaking through gritted teeth after Amad’s winner.

I think you're right. He's a fan of what we were while he was here, not what we are now, not the club.

Not to be harsh but some of you are being a bit thick here.
There is absolutely no way Neville is loving this.
If he was being weird tonight it was because he was as angry and frustrated as all the United fans watching and his way of dealing with that may have been “laughing”.. I mean what can he do, call the players useless lazy cnuts live on air?

You’re the one being thick if you don’t know he is absolutely loving the way the club is now. Anyone with a brain cell listening to him tonight would know he was delighted seeing how poor the team is.

What reason has he got to be loving this? Poor fecker looks battered...

I agree with him about how shite we are. I also agree with him that our wing back issue is a huge problem. But when he used this team:

-------------------de Gea
AWB--Maguire--Lindelof--Shaw
---------Matic------Mctominay
Sancho----Bruno-----Rashford
--------------Ronaldo

As some measure of how we're getting worse, I disagree. That centre back pairing is useless. Shaw is finished. AWB was terrible. Matic was very good, but he was over the hill. Sancho is a prat. Rashford is a prat. And Ronaldo is too much of an ego maniac to fit him into a hard working team. He also said DDG was better than Onana, which he used to be, but by the end he was simply awful. The worst distribution of any keeper in the league, and he was being paid 375K.
