Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

Amidst all the ridiculousness of that episode, did Jon remember to bring some dragonglass weapons with him? Or is the mining plan dead?

Hope Jon and Beric have a conversation on the whole coming back from the dead thing.
They were loading crates out of the mines while Jon met Gendry and there was crates in the boats they were pushing out to the ship.

Ah good, must have zoned out a bit there.

So, how old do we think lil Sam is? Looks like he aged by a year or so since the end of last season, which is another good indicator of time passing by.

How much bigger is Drogon from season 6 to season 7? The fecker is massive. Also, Sam deciding not to listen to the huge news from Gilly, c'mon Sam!

Also...

Benjen has come back from the dead and Jorah has come back from greyscale (which I've always assumed had some significance as a magical curse linked to Valeyria). Shit's gonna get real one way or the other. I think we're going to see varying degrees of immunity to the Night King's magic and/or the magic of the Wall.

Except you know that they were two separate characters right? That first guy played Crabbe but was booted off the films for some Drugs incident at a comic con event or something? The other guy plays Blaise Zabini, another of Dracoy's mates...
I'm pretty sure he's in prison because of the London riots.

Question about Jon Targaryen:

Melisandre said that he'd be different after coming back to life. He has changed even a tiny bit that anyone has noticed?

"Our fathers trusted each other, why shouldn't we"

Please don't open this if you don't want the finale ruined

the fecker gave me the vibe he is going to do more than that... maybe try to kill her?

I think so too. I think Bran will be the wildcard though as LF doesnt know the true extent to his powers.

More suicidal with his missions. (although he was like that before anyway haha... )

I really hope the "change" is something magical or linked to his Targaryen bloodline. The reason I asked the question is because I'm hoping for something epic linked to that beyond the wall.

Has he been beyond the wall since he came back?

Seems plausible he might be responsible for breaking the magic thats stopping them when he tries to come back I guess.

Good to see house barathion back in the thick of things. Im still hoping stannis shows up

Indeed, and they've also recast the Mountain a bunch of times. But these are pretty minor characters. The Night King is the face of evil in the show, it looks so odd that he's completely changed his look.
To be fair they replaced him with the person who you see as a human before he gets turned by the COTF.

On another note; I just found out that the original Night King was Joe Chill in Batman Begins . Maybe he was upset with being typecast.

Here's one of the best things to look out for after each episode. A guy basically goes through the episode and keeps the plot going with pretty hilarious captions.

See these on reddit and I hate them. Same with those text message things posted the other week, I think they're awful.
Don't like that guys stuff, I find him too forced and obvious with his jokes. Personally I much prefer Toasted Justice.

Right, that's me done for today.

They are starting to jump huge chunks of time per episode.

Just based on the travel times of people in episodes 2 and 3 I think it was, it was about 2-3 months per episode, so the better part of half of a year.

Hmm..Means that they could still walk their way around the wall simply by taking sea ice surface route?
I thought so too when I watched the intro and realized the sea part to the right of the wall was all frozen. The white walkers and his army wouldn't even need to go through the wall anymore. Unless the same magic there is on the wall is somehow applying there too.

Is it just me or is Gendry a little pointless? After all that rowing he has done nothing special. Just went back to Kings Landing. Then he just tags along with Jon Snow.

He hasn't really affected the story at all.

Would have been nice had he just done some sword forging using the dragon glass.. Seems like he's the most inexperienced fighter out of all of them,so is most likely toast beyond the wall..

That's what I thought too. Feels like they're just bringing someone we know so it will have some impact on the viewers if he gets killed.

Melissandre said to Gendry that he would make kings rise and fall. The leech magic she did using his blood made Robb, Balon and Joffrey fall, which in turn of course made Jon, Euron and Tommen "rise" to fill their voids, but maybe Gendry will play a more active role in making kings rise? His hammer was also decorated with the Baratheon stag, which I think is quite symbolic. He will probably turn out to be very much like his father.

In addition, Arya said to Gendry that she could be his family before he was brought away by Melissandre. He replied that she would be "his lady". Marriage?

I don't think it would have felt this way if the show was going at it's more familiar pace. In fact - he would still be rowing if that was the case.

The change of pace really is hindering the show in some ways, but it is necessary and the show is still quality overall.

Can anyone explain to me how Danerys is "one of the good guys"? She's basically a power mad tyrant at this point.... not massively removed from Cerci.

In this episode she basically told people to serve her or die... and painted it as some sort of liberating choice, how the feck is that a choice? Now I hope thats an intentional thing that the show is doing (along with the fact that she just wants her dragons to murder mostly everyone in Kings Landing).. but then she did all that shit in the East (killing all slave owners - regardless of their crimes, "freeing" the unsullied but still making them all do exactly what they were birthed to do etc. etc.) and that was always shown up to be great things she was doing.

That opening sequence... Jaime and Bronn just waited for a few hours underwater for things to cool down on the surface or what?

Anyone know what was on the scroll? I paused it but was hard to make out.
