Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

Nothing compares to battle of the bastards. fecking hell that was unbelievable TV.

I said to my girlfriend during this battle that I hope Jamie and Bronn don't die because their scenes with Tyrion and Daenyrs would be awesome.
The cheese factor in BotB was just too high for me. Add in the fact that
the director had to abandon his original plans for the episode due to budget/time constraints, resulting in a half assed Cannae ending which really showed in my opinion.

Not impossible for sure, but there needs to be a viable route in. They can't just rock up upon receiving their debt repayment. The dragons need to be otherwise engaged or some underhand shenanigans need to allow them safe passage.

This is GoT we're talking about of course so underhand shenanigans is almost guaranteed
The coastline is fairly large

I think it was a bit of a reminder of their sibling rivalry. Just as Sansa was gaining her foothold, growing into a mean bitch and gaining respect... along comes the bad ass little sister who always overshadowed her with a whole new level of skills.

Just seemed so petty and small considering everything they've been though. You'd think she'd be delighted that her scrappy little sister was back doing Arya stuff.

Was the most unrealistic part of the episode.

They're really making Sansa into a bit of a cnut.

So guess Dany will armour up the dragons after this episode.

That wasn't even what the string of posts was on about. We were discussing if all the Lannister soldiers were killed/captured.
I said that someone had escorted the gold to the capital.
@RedSky said that Jaime refered to them as his army which would suggest a large portion were at the battle.
I replied true it could have been the Tarly men that took the gold into the capital.
So your some trusted men does not answer the question were all the Lannister men killed/captured during the battle.

It was a Lannister army. They had their sigil on their shields. I doubt it would be all of them. Although, saying that, if it was the entire army, they've already laid the foundation for a solution by having Cersei talking about the Golden Company. S

Drogon shot by a weapon called a 'scorpion' seems to be slipping a lot of people's minds ...

Damn, didn't think of that. I saw some people speculating that it would be poisoned and thought nothing of it, but now that I think about it, it being called 'the Scorpion' sounds ominous.

So what was in those carts?

Food, grain etc. Throughout the show they talk about Highgarden's riches, and reference the amount of food that Highgarden has been supplying to King's Landing. Obviously with the Tyrells defecting they withheld their food supplies. That and the gold was plundered by the Lannisters. The gold went ahead to KL but the grain wagons were left behind because they were picking up supplies from farmers along the way.

Not sure how she would do this. Also its going to look a bit ridiculous on screen.
True. But surely she's going to try and counter it somehow? It's the obvious thing to do.

The battle was epic in that episode, but the thing that really annoyed me is that Ramsey shot Wun-Wun in the eye. Wun-Wun is pretty much dead already, but who's standing next to him - Jon Snow, who's not even paying attention to Ramsey, but is looking at Wun-Wun. Why in seven hells would Ramsey waste the opportunity to shoot Jon Snow?

Similar happened with Daenerys, people saying she's too focused on having Jon bend the knee. But then when you think of all they've endured, without really knowing other people's plights, it's easier to accept that yeah, women especially pretty much have to become a cnut to survive. Olenna Tyrell outlasted most and Cersei Lannister - the biggest cnut of all - has managed to get things her way though at considerable personal cost. Sansa being miffed that Arya's walked back in out of nowhere as some master swordsman isn't that big of surprise to me and will rightfully impact how the Starks figure out how their siblings fit in with their own desires.

That's always been Sansa's character though hasn't it? She's a bit spoilt and very insecure and she always resented Arya's swagger and ability. Just as she's gaining respect and a foothold and finding her place, back comes her little sister to steal the show and make her look ordinary.

I said to my Girlfriend just as they were going to meet, "I wonder if they will have a big fight" but it was all very amicable. I'm certain there will be a nasty fight soon, Littlefinger is going to use it to his advantage. He knows that Sansa knows that she won't be able to get one over on Arya on her own.

Bill, Gary and Frank and a bunch of grain.
Great stuff. Shame it wasn't the gold. I'd have liked to have molten gold all over the floor. Would have been funny to watch the peasants try to collect it.

No way she could have seen where it came from or even what it was. If in the next episode Dany & Co. don't mention the scorpion and the need to quickly identify and destroy it that'll be weak.

I anticipate some sort of reunion between Tyrion and Bronn, if that's done properly it'll have been worth keeping him alive

It was burnt to a crisp and then smashed to feck. I think it's already destroyed. The question is if they have built many more?

What actually happened in that cave:-

Danny: Bend the knee
Jon: Fine, bend over first !

It didn't look that complicated.

They made a big deal out of the fact they had created it though, and also the fact they only had 1 with them. If they had loads or was easily created why not take more?

This actually brings up something I've been wondering about. If Bran knows everything, doesn't he know how to defeat the Whitewalkers?

Not sure, if posted before...

A video made by a guy who has never seen GOT and starts describing S07 E03...

Dragon glass, valerian steel, and fire!
Fire didn't stop them at the cave Bran was in. The white walkers seemed to just walk through that. Also how many Valyrian steel blades are there left in the 7 kingdoms?

And they are mining Dragon Glass to make weapons. Would be cool to see some people like Davos, maybe Bronn? Hound? armed with it.

WRT to Littlefinger and Sansa

She defo knows hes a manipulator. Hes not fleeing because Winterfell is probably the safest place for him at the moment.
He doesnt know Bran knows everything but the Chaos is a Ladder line defo threw him (and he would probably thinking he wouldnt be allowed to freely move if Bran knew his part in this).
LF is going to try and manipulate Sansa, but i think everything shes learnt from the likes of Cersei will come into play, but also shes still a Stark and will use it to make him think hes in control, but ultimately see him die. Probably at the hands of the dagger that he started most of this game with, now in Aryas possession.

The wights are pretty flammable part of the reason for years everyone has thought the dragons would be helpful against the white walkers.

So yeah burn up their army, stab the feck out of the white walkers with valerian steel and dragonglass
