Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

Its like impossible for the giant to be wun wun in present day given that the witchking is north of the wall and wun wun died at winterfell. Bodies don't teleport. So if it is wun wun then its a shot in the future, but it seems stupid that they didnt burn his body given they know whats coming.

Yeah as i said in my first post, i would tend to agree with this sentiment. John and his crew would know, more than most, the dangers of just leaving corpses lying about. But that eye shot...definitely there for a reason in my opinion. Time will tell, i could be wrong on this of course.

Not sure if it matters but the actor who plays wun wun is credited at the end of the episode but with no character associated this time.

I may be wrong but I think that the actor who played Wun Wun is used for all the giants or under heavy makeup, He also played the Mountain in Series 2.

Can't be unless his corpse traveled from Winterfell to beyond the wall.

A few people are speculating that Brans vision is after the wall comes down. When the Nights King is at Winterfell. God knows if I was him attacking Winterfell and there was a big old giant corpse just lying there I'd re-animate him. What makes no sense is Jon not burning the corpses when he obviously worries about the Army of the Dead breaking through.

Exactly. Which is why anyone saying that is wrong.

I remember both Bran telling Edd and Clegane seeing in the fire that the Night King is headed to East watch by the sea.

The Ed Sheeran scene was silly because it was distracting. Hopefully
he will be brutally murdered early on in
episode 2
The only real problem that i had with that scene was that they kept cutting to his face - LOOK LOOK ITS ED SHEERAN!

By all means have him in there but a bit of subtelty please.

Ha! I honestly didn't recognise Ed Sheeran. I've only ever heard his name. Have no idea about him or his music.

I love the fact the terribleness was completely lost on me.

He's heading to Eastwatch alright but if he comes past the wall he'll head for WF. The wall will fall though, it has too people have been waiting since 1996 or 2011 for it to happen.

Anyone else feel underwhelmed by Euron's costume designer? The man is showing up to marry the Queen of seven kingdoms as the ruler of the Iron islands and they outfitted him like he was going out to have a beer with his mates.
The Ironborn are all scruffy cnuts in fairness

Why are people speculating whether the giant was Wun Wun. There were like four of the big bastards, so surely who they are is somewhat irrelevant?

Well the one they zoomed into could be Wun Wun but the rest could be from any of the other dead ones.

I think because of his eye. Wun Wun took an arrow there and this giant looked like he took an injury there.

An arrow to the eye is probably one of the few ways to kill a giant. So, unless they died of natural causes, it would be pretty common to see dead giants with eye injuries.

IT WAS NOT WUN WUN...

LOL. I agree it makes no sense that its Wun Wun. It was just the way as mentioned above, that the camera zooms into the eye like its meant to be significant, and then it goes straight to Bran (who might have been seeing the future) - but yeah was probably for visual purposes for a tv show. And no doubt, Jon defo would have burned any dead bodies. (plus its not like they had to rush out of the place straight away esp as the giant was killed inside the doors)

Funny thing is I thought they killed the giant for budget reasons but then they show another few of those bastards this time as the undead.

Which thread can we use to discuss GOT theories as to how it will end?

as far as I'm aware

Any TV talk: this thread (basically book readers GTFO)
Any book talk: A song of ice and fire thread (basically non book-readers GTFO)
Any TV speculation: spoiler tags in both threads, clearly labelled "speculation" or whatever

edit: well duh on the first two!

Now that they have overlapped, it makes it very difficult to define whether one is speculating about book or tv. Wish there was just one 'end game' thread for speculation.

Reddit for example has some awesome theories as to how it will end, which would be great to discuss.

Good old @brewlio had a private conversation with a lot of people where you could discuss everything about the show with no fear of reprisal

Hasnt been posted in over 2 years. That convo was started basically to discuss the 4 leaked episodes of season 5. But yeah it was an everything goes convo. So if you are worried about spoilers from books then that wouldnt be the place.

I'd be up for a " Game of thrones-discuss whatever you fecking want" thread

*conversation.

It's also worth pointing out that Season 7 spoilers have been leaked so there will be caftards who are eager to spoil everything for you and claim it as their own theories. So be careful what you wish for (unless you don't mind knowing whats to come).

I'll be honest, I watched it back the other week and it was clearly vinegar. No idea what I was smoking when I thought it was vanilla.

I missed vanillagate. I can understand hearing "Vanilla" the first time round, but I can't comprehend anyone replaying the scene a few times and hearing anything other than "Vinegar".
