Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

Still, I think each arc has different time passing on it. But its not a bad thing, cos we see Arya do her stuff, and then there can be a time jump rather than seeing her travel.
We already see some sort of a time jump in Sams story and Danys story. Dont need to see her travelling the sea, rather see her arrive and get on with it.
Same with Euron.

I watched the first scene again and it was total badassery.

But I was stlll  when the giant(s) were shown as the walking dead. Three of them ffs.

I wonder if the Night King can only raise the human dead and not the animal dead? If he can raise animals too then you have potential direwolves and mammoths to contend with as well...

So how long are we thinking passed between the last season and first ep? Gillys kid seemed like about 2 years old.
Some of the characters looked like they aged 5 years (though probably only a month or two really).

Also need LF to die this season. Creepy bastard.
I assumed Arya's scene was earlier than the rest of the episodes given it was pre credits.

Uhh dumbass, the horses.

Well I suppose it was Walder's throne room.. Considering he is always there.. Carrying his body out without anyone seeing wouldn't be so easy..

Edit: Ya like @Arbitrium says.. Gave her too much power quickly I guess.. But with time running out to finish the series,I guess they didn't have time to show the whole buildup..

Lots of things are not easy, but get done. We don't know how she did it, so it is silly to suggest that somehow her having done it makes her overpowered. Maybe there's a wheelie-bin in the corner of the room and she dumped him in there, disguised herself as a member of the cleaning crew and got rid of the body that way. Nothing over-powered, just using the skills we already know she has. Maybe in the big old castle there are some seldom used corridors or hidden passages, and she just used one of those. She does not have to be overpowered to get rid of a body.

That Sheeran cameo was amazingly bad. So distracting and out of place. Didn't help that the scene didn't do anything either. Will go down as one of the worst cameos ever.

Would have been funny if Arya had chopped him and made the rest of the family eat him. Bleh.

Great point.

With regards to the killing of animals:

I kinda predict a dragon will die. But having it be reanimated as a dead dragon would be quite something. Maybe Bran can then take control of it? Hmmm

When the opening scene came on, for a brief five seconds, I'd assumed Sky had fecked up and thrown and old episode on and nearly lost my shit.

For a split second thought that maybe that they writers had put in a scene that took place before old Perv Frey was killed, then quickly caught on to what was happening.

It was not quite as satisfying as when old man Frey was killed last season, but she completed her task of revenge against the Frey's while at the same time throwing a key Lannister ally into complete disarray.

 Just as I glanced at this the Method Man track off 36 Chambers came on on my Spotify.

MUST AVOID THIS THREAD...so tempting to have a glimpse at what happened..

Very underwhelming return for GOT. Nothing particularly interesting happening, and a lot of poor acting. The Ed Sheeran seen was just atrocious. Just a complete waste of screen time, and ruined the integrity of an already dodgy episode.

Hoping there is a massive jump in quality in future weeks.

Binge watching an entire season is so much better than watching one episode per week. But people on fecking social media will ruin the storyline 5 mins after an episode if I wait to watch more than one episode at a time.

Just get off social media. It's a waste of time anyway.

I will still have to deal with cnuts at work who talk about it all the time. Like this morning they had a 20 minute conversation about the opening episode. 20 minutes? Can you fecking believe it? Nothing worthwhile happened to be talking about it for 5 mins, yet these feckers spoke about it for 20.

I thought Euron's burn about having 1000 ships and two good hands was amusing.

Easily the line of the show for me. I quite like how Euron was this episode because his scenes last season seemed rushed.

The best bit of dialogue, by far, was "leave one wolf alive and the sheep are never safe". Fecking loved that one.
