So how do people rate the season? Except for ep1 (which was kinda expected reminder of everybody) and (especially) ep8 (which was too comic book), I think this was a really strong season. A lot happened, a lot progressed, and the last two eps and the Door were fun / fantastic / great.
Jon = Mother died in child birth, Dany = Mother died in child birth, Tyrion = Mother died in childbirth. Has Tyrion's mam been at it with a Targaryan ?
Mad King Aerys was supposed to be infatuated with his mother, Tywin's wife. Tywin turning on Aerys for doing something to his wife (consensual or not) that resulted in Tyrion is certainly possible
So who does everyone have getting killed off in the season finale? Whomever guesses all correctly gets a pie. Or whomever knows whether to use 'who' or 'whom.'

Great episode. The music was amazing, the sheer scope of the show was really demonstrated this episode. Add another 30 mins & you had a full film more or less.
So much death!!
Massive hint (I'd say confirmation now) that Jon is Lyanna & the Targareyan prince's son. 'If Robert find out, he'll kill him' should be enough confirmation for Bran to make the link. Does this put him on a collision course with Daneryes, or (as I believe will happen) does it give him more reason to work with her? Cannot wait to see what happens with this story.
Cersei literally took them all out with a bang!! Gutted to see Margaery die but delighted High Sparrow & the religious stuff is put to rest. Would've liked to have known about his past, but I'm quite content that his story is ending. Did seem awfully quick given the build up, but glad it's happened. Cersei taking the throne & Jamie's look of shock will be an interesting dynamic. Does the urge to be King(Queen)slayer return??
Tommen's death Useless King, useless death. Ffs I actually burst out laughing at his death.
I say it every week, Bronn needs his own show. 'They have their eyes on you, cnut'
Arya!!! fecking brilliant. Never saw that coming. Great kill, beautifully executed. The last couple of scenes has put her back on track after a massive lull in her story.
Sansa has shown potential and real character this season. I hope she doesn't fall for Littlefinger's games, but just a hint she might be jealous of Jon. Hope that's not the case.
Winter is finally here!!! Would've liked to have seen more Whitewalkers, but I say that every year.
Granny Tyrell is fantastic. Varys turning up in Dorne was no surprise (called that last week). Team Daneryes is shaping up nicely.
The little Mormont girl is awesome. She's probably had about 10 mins screen time but she's fast becoming one of my favourite characters.
The last scene Finally we are ready for Daneryes to start the war. She has her army, she has her ships, she has her dragons, she has her imp. This is going to be great.

I think it's been fantastic. A huge improvement on last year & almost all the characters have made progression. If nothing else, this season has killed off a fair few side-stories/characters and/or merged stories together. Seems the writers are intending on focusing on 2/3 plots next season with the battle at Kings Landing being the primary focus and probably the war in the north with the Whitewalkers.
There was talk of only 13 episodes left in total. I think that might actually be true now. They seem to have picked the pace this season and I reckon that will continue. Still, I'm hoping we get 2 full seasons in. 13 seems a bit quick to cover everything.
All 3 had their mothers killed in child birth, Aerys had a thing for Joanna Lannister, and the foreshadowing with Jons line to Tyrion "what would you know about being a bastard"

My theory only extends to Targaryan blood, one might be so inclined to call it "dragons" blood but other than that the other omens are there in my opinion.
Well it's about bloody time Daenerys. It's took you six seasons to start sailing across the seas to Westeros. What an episode. I don't think anyone was expecting this good of an episode after the one we had last week so it pleasantly surprised everyone. We lost another hottie in Natalie Dormer. Also now are the three houses together because Varys was on Dany's ship at the end right? Oh and nothing needs to be said about the King In the North. Jon-fecking Snow. It's all let up for a brilliant show next season. THe Starks definitely need bigger alliances.

What a fecking episode!!! That Arya scene was fecking mint! Freys are the biggest pussies in Westeros and glad Jamie said as much to Walder Freys face. Cersi what a cnut....Please people tell me that Jamie is way too smart to fall for the bullshit story she will feed him about Tomen? Littlefinger cant be trusted. And what a force Daenrys has now, the Tyrells, Dothraki, Unsullied, Dorne and her dragons plus some Ironeborne.
Im not so sure I want Daenrys to ultimately win. I like her but something about her is off. I predict her dragons wont make the final war for the throne, shes seems way too overpowered and having her dragons go down will even up the odds a bit.
For those wondering about Varys' teleportation, it looks like the final scene might be after they've already been to Dorne and picked up the Martells. You can see Martell sigils on a couple of the ships.

it also fits that Tyrion could engage the Dragons without being killed when he visited them in their prison
another matter:
Cersei is clearly going full mad king (her love for her children has always been her redeeming quality. Now she's basically killed her own son and doesn't even blink) and Jaime tragically being forced to kill her seems to be the obvious destination for KL.
I could also see Jon marrying his aunt
Badass? More like batshit crazy. That bombing was as reckless as it was short sighted. How long is she going to be queen if the Tyrells turn on her? She has no allies left and the Lannister army is already diminished from war. Plus even if little Tommen had not gone out the window he probably wouldn't have been entirely thankful for killing the septon he was following and his wife, along with hundreds of "innocent" people..
I don't know, she's always been one of my favourites in the show. She's obviously batshit, but that's one of the things I like about her. I never gave a feck about Tommen and I'm interested to see how mad of a queen Cersei will be next season. She probably doesn't have much time to properly rule, though.
First sequence in Kings Landing was so good, very nicely done cinematically. Varys showing up was cool and hints to the plans for next season. I did not see Arya coming at all, and was wondering why Frey was back in the picture all of a sudden, very cool. Tommen stuff was a bit vague, I get the implied suicide, but the lack of confirmation confused me a little.
Jon becoming King of the North was a pretty powerful scene as well. Nicely contrasted with Cercei becoming Queen too. The final shot of Dany's fleet with the dragons and fantastic music playing gave me goosebumps all over. Very strong finale.
