Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

People are so quick to scream "Plot hole!".

TBH, I kinda agree, in the sense you cant call it a plot hole until everything is explained (or finished) to see the true progression. There are so many ways it can be explained away.

I just downloaded subtitles so the wife can understand it better. Are they all auto-translated shite?

The geographical terrain in essos is something quite special. That is some trek for Danaerys being flown out the of the Mediterrean sun soaked streets of Mereen and being dumped in the windy highlands of Scotland thanks to her Dragon. Then walks snail paced barefooted into the grand canyons of fecking Utah. Ser Mormont of course following closely behind in this vastly Large but small and peculiar world of Essos!. Who needs a map eh.

Anywhere to watch online that has the subtitles in English? The one I watched on was Russian or some shit so I basically missed the whole Danaerys part, it was probably a load of bollocks anyway but I'd still like to know what they were saying.

Talked about fecking her right in the pussy. Trust me thats about it.

I had the same but I got the gist. I'm assuming they we're going to feck her and then she told them who she was and about Khal Drogo.

Khal Moro also tells her that she will live out the rest of her days with the other Khal's widows in Vaes Dothrak.

After last night's episode I've just thought of another possible way that Jon Snow and Melisandre could be connected in the plot. I'm not going to even say in case I'm right.

What's with the Dothraki hate? I love Dothraki dialogues and scenery.

Wow, now we know which Game Of Thrones episode Rooney likes the most.

I'm just speculating here but it might not be the necklace.

I think the Rhillor knight guy who could bring his pal back to life couldn't actually explain how he suddenly could do it.

Maybe Melisandre's appearance is not something she has control over. Could it be that with her wavering faith, her powers were being taken away from her?

Stannis didn't win the battle against the Boltons despite sacrificing his daughter.

I'm not focusing too much on the necklace, they will likely make you focus on things that are meaningless. The vials of potion however...and I think the theory of her own sacrifice is probably spot on. I did enjoy the episode, went a bit too quick though.
I'm surprised she was so shocked to see him dead, anyone who knows the nights watch will know that you only come out of service if you die...(now their watch has ended) now he can do what the hell he wants when they resurrect him. Which will explain him fighting at winter fell.

Bit shocked by naked granny. Can't wait for more dragons :D

Okey, a theory about Snow and Melisandre.

She looked devastated when finding out bastard boy was as cold as his name. She looked properly sad when looking in the mirror thingy. And, she looked sad when she turned into her own great grandmother. I think this is a clue that she's lived a long life, trying to find the holy man to save them all, and now it's time to make the ultimate sacrifice for her as well. I mean, if she's going to spend another 600 or whatever years looking for another saviour, imaging the sadness in her eyes when looking in the same mirror!
She's going to kill herself to bring curlylocks back to life. Hopefully she does it while being perky-tits, though.

I think that's the most likely scenario - sacrifice herself to the Lord of Light to resurrect Jon Snow.

I find it a bit tedious to be honest. But I think it's more cos Daenery's is an awful actress.

I enjoyed the episode though thought they got the right amount of each character. For me the least interesting stuff is Dorne and Daenery's so the less of that the better.

Jon Snow will get resurrected when the Nights Watch overpower Sir Davos to get, and burn his body.

Hence all the fire, Lord of light and Targaryen references.

Well, either that or Melisandre will somewhat resurrect him herself, through sacrificing her own life - hence the ancient appearance. She's traded her remaining years with the Lord of Light, to give them to Jon Snow.

I'm clutching now.

I just don't want to believe he's dead. Apparently they were shooting some Tower of Joy footage for this season. Surely this has to be linked to Jon Snow.

Don't do that.

This is exactly what I thought would happen, but with Eddison going to get help (from the wildlings I'm guessing) I'm not 100% this will still happen and it's seeming more likely that Melisandre will play a part in his resurrection.

It's far too obvious he'll come back, why barricade themselves in the room with his body if nothing was going to come from it.

At the moment, only 2 things are interesting me. The Wall story and Cersei and what she'll do. The rest is (at the moment at least) absolutely rubbish.

Agreed. I just posted this elsewhere about the drop in quality since the start of the previous season...

I'm not one of the book readers but I'm guessing that without the benefit of some meticulously plotted source material to draw from the wheels are in real danger of falling off.

Also, they've boxed themselves into a corner with so many story arcs that just aren't interesting or have been exhausted to the point of not caring any more

  • Arya still in training but now blind training. Whoopee doo.
  • Danerys still no closer to going to Westeros. I assume she'll eventually win over the Dothraki and have them join her army. But it's a chore to watch and feels like something we've already seen.
  • Sansa, Theon, Brienne, Pod. More travelling I'm guessing.
  • The Dorne/Sandsnakes stuff. Literally the worst thing about the show in terms of dialogue, acting, relevance to the main story (everything).

The only remotely interesting plot lines for me at the moment are the stuff at The Wall and the power struggle at Kings Landing. Also I really think they need to have more than 1 episode with the WhiteWalkers this season. And likewise I hope they don't just ignore the dragons until they need to blow all their budget on one episode. We get teased with these every season which is fine when you have other interesting characters and subplots to follow but I don't think this is the case any more. I think there needs to be some semblance of an end game building or it will fizzle out.

Emilia Clarke's acting technique seems to be to sneer through every bit of dialogue. Someone should tell her that's not the way to look authoritative.

They even found a way to burn the boats that would have gotten her and her army across the sea. It all points to more time wasted, it is getting so tedious. Waiting a whole year for so little development.

Great :lol::lol:

I must admit I cringe whenever she says anything in a language other than English. Other actors can convince you that they're conversing in a foreign tongue but with her you don't sense anything other than she's spouting complete jibberish.

Watched it last night:

The Good

-
Dr. Onion (the show's last remaning hero) calling the shots up at the Wall was pretty great. More screentime for him will mean good things.
- All the wall stuff was good in fact... to the point where I just want GoT to be about the politics of The Wall at this point
- Mellisandre and her unrelenting need to get her breasts out all the time. I'm fairly certain at this point she just whacks her clothes off in the middle of normal scenes and the directors are just rolling with it.,, as if they told her "Right, in this scene, take the neckless off in front of the mirror" and she reads it as "Take the neckless of in front of the mirror naked, got it".
- Brianne finally hooking up with Sansa, something which should have happened last season
- Tyrion and No-Penis-Man walking around talking about what a shit queen Danerys is... this should have been the only walking and talking scene of the episode.
- Cerci being all sad and shit.

The Bad

-
Absolutely everything to do with Dawn. The acting is god awful (like soap-opera levels of awful), the plot is boring and it's all just really shit.
- The sandsnakes... the worst characters and actors in GoT history? probably... they make Sansa Stark look emmy worthy.
- Religious nutcases... who cares
- Arya being blind... I care even less
- Random "No-Rape" loopholes that apparently come with being the widow of a Khal... (that's conveinent aye?) ... and random stipulations that also come with being the same widow.
- Lord Friendzone and Not-Blonde-Andy-Carroll walking (well, riding) and talking about stuff.

So overall, I'd say a fairly average start to the series...

I think he will be ressurected but lose the support of the wildlings who will be wary of him because he is now an undead.

They may well be, but this is a TV show, not a book... and in the world of the TV show, it seemed incredibly conveinent despite us never hearing about any stipulations/perks/laws that came with being the widow of a Kahl.

They needed to hint at that or at least mention it back in Season 1.

At least the Sansa storyline will be good when she finally gets to Castle Black, which shouldnt take too long now they have horses. Im actually wondering if thats how the Castle Black events end given how the entire North would bend the knee to her im guessing she'll stroll in and sort shit out. Then we'll have the Wildlings led by Sansa and any allies from the North remaining to take on the Boltons. Going to be great watching that all unfold!

See I find the opposite - I find that she's absolutely awful when she's speaking English.
