Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

Okay. So just finished watching all of the seasons. Watched 4/5 episodes a week so rushed it. I actually have no clue what's going on and can't remember the names of half of the people, the whole "many faced gods" stuff confused the hell out me. How she was being taught to lie by jaquen or whoever he is and told the story of the girl with the oysters and then she starts being that girl or whatever.

I already knew about Snow getting killed because of stupid cnuts on facebook getting over excited and crying about it. I wonder if the weird witch woman will save him somehow, feck know. Someone was saying he's still contracted to the show for a couple of seasons.

One question, why does the dragon woman only use one dragon when she has two more. I mean, she's realised she can sort of control the big one so why not get them out.

Brans whole storyline has been weird too, meeting those random kids who helped him get there im still not really sure what he's gonna be able to do. I am enjoying the show but I'm still abit take it or leave it, i think.

I'm pretty sure Daenerys is keeping the two other dragons because the people are afraid of them, so she agreed to do so to please them.

Article on the BBC website relating to a picture of a certain someone in Belfast, close to where the set is over the last few days, along with other cast members. Doesn't necessarily mean anything but like I say, bbc website for anyone who wants to know.

So after all the hype and the recommendation I decided to start watching Game of Thrones. Slow start in the first episode but I liked it towards the end.

After a two week binge I have now watched all 50 episodes and am looking forward to season 6. I hate the wait though that is why I don't watch new series straight away.

The red bird was at Castle Black so she may resurrect John Snow. Couldn't believe he fecking died or any of the Starks for that matter! Cruel series but I love it!

Yeh suprise was ruined for me, I couldn't avoid the great facebook spoiler event thay happened the evening john snow died, i was on the last season aswell because i done what you done. I like the show now but definitely took a while to get into it!

50 episodes in two weeks, it must have felt like there was a cool character dying every few minutes.

I find the storyline with the young girl abit boring with the many faced gods etc don't really understand it, haha. That episode with them talking through the build up to meet the guy on the table confused the hell out of me. More so the way she would narrate it, then he would correct her, but it hadn't happened yet or something. Bit weird.

So I'm on the last episode of season 5 now and I thought that this was one of the better seasons. The fanatics are fun, Ayra and the many face of kung fu makes no sense but is interesting, Dinklage is on good form, they've ditched most of the dreary sub-soap opera love stories. Jamie and the knight's plot is like a good Seth Rogan road comedy and the Boltons are a good laugh in a Vlad Dracula pantomime way.

Then Stannis burns his daughter, cos bad weather yeah and some witch had visions of a leather jacket with jet skis. After 5 seasons you have to be prepared to embrace the silly. But even taking the often ludicrous tone of the show into consideration, this struck me as one of the most unbelievable, cheap gimmicky bits of dumb writing I have seen on my tellybox. It's The Wire-serial killer levels of bad. I couldn't even enjoy the following dragon stuff because all I could picture was the writers calling me a fecking idiot. And the truth hurts.

McShane is great, hopefully we get to hear him say "cocksucka!" at some point.

There's been loads of recasts. The Mountain (3 different actors/strongman) Tommen (twice plus the current one also played a Lannister cousin who was killed by the Karstarks), Myrcella, Daario Naharis (an improvement) and Beric Dondarrion. Can't say any of them have negatively affected the show.

Ian Whyte from season two? Because Thor Bjornnsson made a good Mountain in season four + five as "Robert Strong".
The one in season two was by far the weakest. But the season 4+5 mountain was still pretty shit in comparison to the season 1 guy. The first one really looked angry as feck and really really scary when he chopped off the head of his horse. He was fecking brilliant. In comparison the latest version looked like a sweet baby faced giant with a very weird voice.

That bloke was the best.

This recast screwed with my head for ages, because of the season gap in-between you forget minor details.. I thought it was a new character altogether and the other one was sent on a mission or something.

Daario Naharis

I was the same with that one, they didn't even make a great effort to make them look similar. I got the feeling that he was going to play a bigger part in the story until they had to replace the actor then changed their mind. Not a huge fan of either of them or maybe just the character in general.

It was funnier for me as I was watching seasons back to back and when he turned up I thought he looks different. Had to go back and check the previous episode and make sure

The mountain was the Hound's older brother. That big icelandic dude they had playing him looked about 25!
Exactly, he's 27 now, he didn't look in any shape or form like the hound's older brother, Rory McCann is 46 an casting someone 20 years younger as his older brother is lazy.

Yep theres no reason he couldn't have battled Oberyn he was still much bigger than Pedro Pascal. The only reason Iceland Arnie was cast was for the trial by combat scene.

The original guy was the biggest guy they cast. He's like around 7 feet tall, maybe fudging but still bigger than the Strongman guy, or at least taller. The reason he got recast is because he dropped out to shoot The Hobbit, I guess he thought he was going to get a bigger role in The Hobbit. Seems like he made a mistake because he was by far the best Mountain so far.

Yeah thats true, and him being an Aussie he wouldnt pass up a big movie like that being shot in NZ. Still they should have dubbed the big Icelandic lads voice or just not have him speak.
